Event: #6 Years Forward
The Living Well has been described as a place where dreams thrive. As Social Entrepreneurs, we partner with a hybrid of nonprofit organizations and community businesses that work together to provide a collective platform for community engagement and economic empowerment. Unleashing community assets to promote positive change is the heartbeat of what makes us a Center for Social and Economic Vibrancy. Using a cooperative and vibrant community business model, our impact can be measured by the diversity in the events, programs, and rentals we host that create opportunities for the development of social capital. Networks have value and every community forum creates an opportunity for community dialogue, expanded educational options, community wellness, business growth, and community capacity-‐building. We are changing the landscape of civic engagement and celebrating our opportunities moving forward. It brings top-‐notch musical performances to the neighborhood and provides an opportunity for authentic exchange with the audience and the artist. “Akua Allrich is up to her eyeballs in soul. The woman mines such a deep, rich vein of musical flavor that not only do the musicians around her fade into invisibility when she sings. Much of the power is purely in her voice, a fearsome, visceral thing that fills the room as soon as it begins.” Washington, D.C.
