“Boker Tov, Doobi!” his mother called from the kitchen.

Doobi jumped out of bed and looked in the mirror. “Oh, no,” said Doobi, “there is something about my face…

I look like a frog!”

Doobi pushed his bowtie away from his mouth. “ohhhhh noooooo,” Doobi sighed, “now my bowtie is on my cheek!” So Doobi moved his bowtie to his neck.

The Early Childhood Department at Lehrman Community Day School promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of young children through an interactive and thematic approach to learning. Creative faculty help our students share new ideas and feelings with their peers. They lead children to develop creativity, self-confidence and independence, while stressing the value of cooperation, interdependence and, of course, love. Weekly or bi-weekly Jewish and general social studies themes give content to activities whose learning objectives include skills in language arts, science, math, music, art, physical education, and Hebrew language. Lehrman offers a half-day or full day program. Both include a full kosher hot meal that encompasses the latest research on basic nutritional needs for young children.
