This is me‌ on my way into Nursery.

Curriculum The Early Childhood Department at Lehrman Community Day School promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of young children through an interactive and thematic approach to learning. Caring teachers foster children’s growth and development in a safe and nurturing environment. At LCDS we teach and model Jewish values like kindness and respect for self and others. We also teach and celebrate Jewish traditions. Creative faculty help our Early Childhood students share many new ideas and feelings with their peers. They lead children to develop creativity, selfconfidence and independence, while stressing the value of cooperation, interdependence and of course, love. Weekly or bi-weekly Jewish and general social studies themes give content to activities whose learning objectives include skills in language arts, science, math, music, art, physical education and, in nursery and pre-K, Hebrew language. This Early Childhood curriculum is implemented with attention to the individual developmental needs, and interests of each child. Classes are kept small and teachers and assistants work in concert to ensure that every child is accorded the appropriate time and attention needed daily and over the years spent at Lehrman. In addition, we have a staff of outstanding specialists who provide an array of skill based activities geared to this age group. Lehrman offers a half-day or full day program. Both include a full kosher hot meal that encompasses the latest research on basic nutritional needs for young children. These meals are high in fiber, low in fat and are, by evidence of emptied plates and smiling children, delicious.
