Plant a seed… watch us grow! In this week’s portion of Va-Yera we learn about hakhnasat orh.im— hospitality—as Abraham welcomes three strangers into his tent with food and drink. Your students and their busy teachers practiced this mitzvah on Tuesday when we welcomed over 80 Friends— old friends and new—with great enthusiasm and some gifts. We see BYFTSD as a day to welcome friends to LCDS, and also a day to plant seeds for our growth. If your child’s friend is someone who might fit into the Lehrman family, or has expressed some interest in learning more about LCDS, please let us know. You never know when hospitality can lead to a deeper relationship.
