Last February 22, 2020, The Luxury Network International Awards 2020 was successfully celebrated this year in awarding the world’s finest brands for their luxury products and exceptional services. We hosted this most sought-after annual occasion at the exquisite Mondrian Doha in Qatar, where the evening saw over 300 invited VIP delegates from the world’s leading brands, which gathered to be recognized on stage for their outstanding efforts. Through The Luxury Network Awards, all of the attendees were able to give back to the world through the fundraising drive for some philanthropic organizations such as the Qatar Cancer Society, our membership group’s chosen charity partner for this year’s awards. Helicopters, was revealed today at Courchevel in the French Alps. This stylish special edition of the ACH130 helicopter comes equipped with a range of four interior and exterior designs generated by Aston Martin which will delight helicopter owners and pilots who appreciate the pleasures of possessing and driving high performance bespoke luxury cars. The aeronautical designers at Airbus Corporate Helicopters (ACH)
and the automotive designers at Aston Martin have worked closely together for over a year, marrying ACH’s key values of excellence, quality and service with Aston Martin’s commitment to beauty, handcrafting and automotive art to bring a new level of aesthetics and 16
rigorous attention to detail to the helicopter market. Available in four external liveries with complementary interiors, the helicopters are embellished with Aston Martin signature elements, starting with the iconic Aston Mar-
tin wings, which are embossed onto luxury leather features, tastefully positioned throughout the cabin. The Stirling Green-themed external scheme, which is already flying on the first aircraft, features a painted gradient, which fades
down into Jet Black on the underside of the helicopter with Skyfall Silver around the cowlings. Further external liveries are available with other Aston Martin paint colours including Xenon Grey, Arizona and Ultramarine Black. 17
Inside, the automotive - inspired cabin, which offers a higher level of comfort, is trimmed in Pure Black ultra-suede with a palette of selectable leathers comprising Oxford Tan, Pure Black, Cormorant and Ivory. On the rear of the front seats the same brogue detailing that is found in a DB11 runs down the centre of the seat and the doors have been trimmed with leather to provide passengers with comfortable touch points during their flight. By using materials from the Aston Martin automotive palette the interior of this special edition of the ACH130 sits in harmony with the interior of Aston Martin sports cars. Each of these special edition helicopters will have a plaque included on the instrument panel which shows the partnership logos, the 18
registration of the aircraft, the edition number and the owner’s name, should they wish to have it included. SOUND LEISURE LAUNCHED THE LUXURY HANDCRAFTED JUKEBOX EXCLUSIVE TO HARRODS

brand-new product for luxury department store, Harrods, has been created by a UK jukebox manufacturer, featuring intricate bird figures and images reminiscent of elements in the food halls. In response to the rising popularity of vinyl and love of classic design amongst their clientele, Harrods customers can now own the ultimate souvenir, an exclusively designed vinyl-playing jukebox. Brand new and entirely bespoke to the luxury brand, it features the famous bird images within the cabinet and is hand-made right here in the UK. Produced by Yorkshire-based Sound Leisure, which has specialised in manufacturing bespoke classic jukeboxes for over 40 years, each jukebox is hand built by master crafts men and women using traditional methods. Manufactured from high quality wood, each ply
formed cabinet is hand polished and adorned with brushed gold effect aluminium decorative castings, LED illumination ensures that the colour of the lighting can be adjusted to suit any location. The jukebox which retails at £14,500, holds 70 vinyl singles and can be supplied to work on any voltage. A Bluetooth receiver and microphone input comes as standard and the juke can be linked to smart technologies. External matching speakers can be connected and controlled independently from the jukebox and it can even have a coin mechanism installed. The machine is set to free play as standard. Named ‘The Peacock’, only 50 of this jukebox design will be put into production, making it a real collector’s item. Early Sound Leisure machines are often sold for more than they were originally purchased for and this limited-edition vinyl jukebox has the provenance to follow
suit. The jukebox is now available from the AV department in Harrods. Sales of vinyl-playing jukeboxes from Sound Leisure have been booming over the past three years. Managing director comments:

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CAVIAR What it is, how to eat it, and where to find it Simon Johnson Purveyor is the largest importer of caviar in Australia and imported around two tonnes of caviar in 2019. We are proud to supply the best restaurants and hotels in Australia as well as prestigious airlines like Qatar, Qantas, and Emirates. Caviar is full of myth and misconception, and most things that people believe they know about caviar are actually incorrect. Whilst caviar was discovered by the Persians in the 4th century, it is not before the 14th century that caviar became a delicacy in Russia, and it is only later in the 19th century that it was finally found on the most exclusive tables all around Europe. Years of illegal poaching and overfishing of sturgeon, whose eggs are salted and cured to produce caviar, has pushed the twenty-seven sturgeon species to the brink of extinction. In 2008, CITES (the Convention on International Trade in En-

dangered Species) imposed a very strict worldwide ban on both commercial and recreational fishing of all wild sturgeon. Therefore, nowadays, caviar is sustainably sourced from aquaculture and we count more than 300 sturgeon farms around the world primarily in the Northern Hemisphere. At Simon Johnson we import caviar in “Mother tins” or “Origin tins “weighing between 1 and 1.8 kilos into Australia. The caviar is then stored in Simon Johnson’s bespoke caviar facility at our Sydney warehouse in the ideal environment to mature each tin of caviar to per-
fection . At any given point, we will hold around 100 kilos of caviar in our cool room. From here, we carefully monitor the maturation of the caviar and pack each type of caviar to order. At present, we are the only company in Australia licensed to re-pack fresh caviar. The packing process is one very important step as it is the time where we will be able to assess the caviar and control the quality. Here we will be looking at the colour, the size of the roe, the flavour, and also its texture. All these criteria have to be taken into account at every repack. When it comes to eating caviar, we recommend people to have their first taste from the flat part of their hand, between thumb and forefinger, which we call “traditional caviar” tasting. Égérie was born from the conjunction between these two fields of expertise. Haute Couture instilled a sophisticated style, subtly paired with the asymmetrical aesthetic faithfully perpetuating the Vacheron Constantin heritage. Imbued with this two-fold inspiration, the new Égérie collection weaves the face of watchmaking femininity according to Vacheron Constantin. The 35 mm pebble-shaped case is crowned with a slender bezel overstitched with 58 diamonds. Extended by integrated lugs, it is punctuated between 1 and 2 o’clock by a crown adorned with a cabochon-cut moonstone, of which the soft shade melds flawlessly into the overall aesthetic. The dial sets the stage for a delicate opaline silver work of art inspired by the world of Haute Couture: composed of concentric circles, its centre and periphery are graced with a pleated pattern. By dint of lengthy long and extremely subtle operations, the artisan adjusts the gears of a 1904 pantograph-type machine in order to reproduce a large format motif in a miniature version on the dial. The expertly wielded tip of the burin, regularly sharpened by the artisan, gives rise to the draped-effect motif of the Égérie dial. Specially designed for the collection, the calligraphic numerals evoke fine embroidery, while the leaf-type hours and minutes hands recall the fine needles used by the nimble fingers at work in Haute Couture ateliers. In a signature touch, the date appearing in a circle rimmed with diamonds draws on the tradition of Vacheron Constantin’s off-centre displays. A bold move for this versatile watch, escorted by three interchangeable leather straps for the 18K 5N pink gold version. The steel model is paired with a polished metal bracelet designed to ensure an extremely flowing look and feel. Both slim and graceful, it sits so incredibly lightly on the wrist, like a second skin, that the wearer can easily forget it is even there. Beating behind the scenes is the 1088 calibre. ASMA SCKALI
Asma is a prominent Qatari businesswoman with investments in the sectors of Fashion, Beauty, Home, Advertising, and Exhibitions. Asma’s passion for fashion and beauty led her to launch her first brand “Sckali Design” in 2009, followed by several brands such as “Ckali Bags” in 2015, “Argansus” in 2016, “Sckali Beauty” in 2017, and “Sckali Daum” in 2019. Asma also became a member of the Qatari Businesswomen Association in 2014, marking a milestone in her career. Her goal was to introduce Qatari brands to the world that can compete with international brands and to promote the capabilities of the Qatari woman. The brand was launched internationally with fashion shows in London, Paris, and Monaco. It was the first Qatari brand to participate in the London fashion week and the Maison de Mode in Paris. 2017 she participated in the famous New York fashion show and a presence in the Cannes Film Festival. She was voted the best Qatari brand by the Ministry of Tourism. Sckali Group had collaborations and partnerships with many brands such as Sckali Design and Tiffany & Co. at the Tiffany red carpet in Monaco in 2018 and through The Luxury Network with brands such as Lamborghini and Mercedes Benz fashion week in London and Dubai. It is present in many international retail outlets such as Galleries Lafayette and Fifty one East in Qatar with expansion plans in France, Morocco, and London. Asma’s success was covered and celebrated in many media publications locally and regionally, and her focus was always on the importance of the Qatari woman’s potential and capabilities.
