Manchester voted best city in UK again TNT News

M

anchester has, once again, reclaimed its title of being the best city in the UK.

In the annual Global Liveability Ranking by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIUn) – which provides scores for lifestyle challenges in 140 cities – Manchester respectably ranked 43rd worldwide, and 1st in the UK. Falling 10 places behind us was London, the 53rd most liveable city in the world. Though the capital city has more cultural attractions and more robust infrastructure, London’s lower score reflects the perceived higher risk of terrorism and crime. Across the world, Melbourne remained the most liveable city, followed by Vienna and Vancouver. The cities voted most unfavourable to live in included Kiev, Douala, Harare and Lagos. Ranking 51st in 2014, 46th in 2015 and now placing 43rd the upward trajectory of our city in the world rankings is impressive to say the least. Whether our achievement in the world ranking is due to our rapidly improving infrastructure, our award-winning museums and galleries, a thriving calendar of theatre and cultural events or renowned sports institutions – our Northern city has proven its unquestionable value.
