Just bring the unwanted pairs of gently used or new shoes to The Melody Bar at the Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen St. W., Sunday, Jan. 24 from 7 to 11 p.m. There will be live music and a raffle featuring prizes from local businesses. Out of character.” Roncesvalles residents did not hold back their distaste for the redevelopment of the former two-storey funeral home at 422-436 Roncesvalles Ave. and 76 Howard Park Ave. during a community consultation on Tuesday hosted by the City of Toronto’s planning division.
“It overwhelms the rest of the buildings (around it),” said local resident Harry Cornelius, who attended the meeting. “The church right beside it is three storeys and the surrounding buildings are all very, very low with a village feel. It sounds like the opening line of a classic joke only this time it isn’t. It’s the beginnings of an inter-faith fundraiser that’s kicked off to help sponsor a Syrian refugee
