Concerns with Brock Avenue bus diversion ERIN HATFIELD ehatfield@insidetoronto.com A temporary bus diversion onto Brock Avenue in Parkdale came as a surprise to residents and area councillor Ana Bailao; and although it may be necessary some question how safe the route may be. Bailao, who represents Ward 18 (Davenport) on city council, said she first learned of it through an announcement released a few days prior to the diversion, which took effect July 6. “It was quite a shock and we didn’t have the opportunity as a community to find out has the due diligence been done,” she said. Metrolinx reveals noise wall designs along rail corridor RAHUL GUPTA rgupta@insidetoronto.com Scott Dobson is worried the concerns of residents are falling upon deaf ears. He’s a member of a neighbourhood committee consulting with Metrolinx on design proposals for a series of noise walls to go up along the Georgetown GO rail corridor. The Noise Wall Community
Advisory Committee (CAC) for Bloor Street West to St. Clair Avenue West meets regularly with Metrolinx officials, design consultants, elected officials and others to provide feedback on proposed designs for the five-metre high walls which are expected to be completed in time for the 2015 debut of the Union Pearson Express air rail link (ARL). >>>plans, page 6
