BIG MONEY There are 11 ‘revenue tools’ under consideration to pay for the billions in needed transit expansion in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Which ones get your green light? See our exclusive look on pages 30 and 31.
Ossington development on agenda at council Two contentious issues will be before the Toronto and East York Community Council June 18. The Queen Street Restaurant Study is wrapping up and on June 18 community council will consider the amendments to zoning along Queen Street West between Roncesvalles Avenue and Dufferin Street that arose out of that study. Area planners have come up with a set of additional restrictions on restaurants and related uses in the area in order to mitigate conflict between these establishments and adjacent neighbourhoods. Those restrictions will be considered by community council. Detailed info about the proposal can be obtained from city planners. Also set for the June 18 agenda is the development known as 109OZ on Ossington Avenue. A “direction report” will advise the city about whether to send counsel to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) hearing. Residents who would like to address council on either of these matters are asked to register with the city clerk by calling 416-392-7216 by June 17. Community council begins at 9:30 a.m. June 18 at city hall, 100 Queen St. W. The full agenda for the meeting can be found on the City of Toronto’s website.
