Park celebrates grand reopening MARK A. CADIZ mcadiz@insidetoronto.com The McCormick Park Café officially opened its doors to a packed crowd in Brockton Village near Dundas Street West and Sheridan Avenue. Run out of a 20-foot ship-

ping container the café is the first of its kind in a city park. Grassroots organizations Friends of McCormick Park and the Aangen Community Centre teamed up to help rejuvenate the park’s role in the community. “I think it’s a huge boom

It is important that, with a legacy of improved transit, we add to the livability of communities in which we work and serve,” said Metrolinx spokesperson Malon Edwards. “Public art is an opportunity to add to the fabric of a community through an engaging artistic display.” Metrolinx initially approached the city last year to discuss a partnership to help beautify the neighbourhoods it works in through public art displays.
