MONTHLY ISSUE Look out for Division & Club Updates!

Salutations, Penguins! We’re off to a great start so far in the 2021-2022 term. I’m proud of everything you’ve accomplished already, with club elections, fundraisers, and service events galore. Keep up the spectacular work, and let’s try to maintain this energy throughout the summer! Are you excited for Key Club Training Conference coming up this month? The theme is Studio Ghibli, and you bet we’ll be inserting as many references and puns as possible throughout the event. The other LTGs of Region 17 and I have been working hard to make sure that this year’s KCTC is as engaging, educational, and enjoyable as possible. Plus, we’ll be holding a fundraiser leading up to the weekend of the training conference—get ready for some delicious boba! As always, please feel free reach out to me if you ever need anything. I’m available via email, text, Instagram DM, Facebook Messenger, Zoom, FaceTime— whatever you need, really. Don’t forget to thank Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor (IP LTG) Cheryl Bai for all of her incredible work last term, and please also be sure to congratulate Adithri on her very first division newsletter!

OUR CLUBS CUPERTINO

This month, we held two officer meetings and two member meetings. In our first member meeting, we announced our Member of the Month, Event of the Month, our fundraiser results, and our new officer board for the next term! In place of our usual family time, we hosted a service time where members had the opportunity to gain service hours! In our second meeting, we held a Game Night for our members, with a wide variety of activities to do for everyone to continue to get to know one another! Throughout the month, we held three service sessions, with one of them taking place during Spring Break. The service projects we did were: Cranes For A Cure, Free Choice, and Dog Toy Making.

FREMONT

This month has been quite busy for us. We finished training the new executive board and had out first board meeting in the beginning of May. We discussed all the ideas we had for the upcoming term. We decided to create a discord to encourage member bonding and we are currently working on a Schoology group and a website. Also, we created an updated service at home guide compiling all the service projects members can complete at home. We had our final member meeting of the year on the 18th. We wrapped up the year with introducing the new exec board and playing freerice.

GUNN In April, we held officer elections and elected our new board for 2021-2022. We also had order forms for KEY club graduation stoles for our KEY Club seniors.

17

HOMESTEAD

Homestead held a Gong Cha fundraiser at the start of April, which was successful in raising around 40 dollars for the Pediatric Trauma Program! We had an end-of-the-term social to encourage fundraiser participation and allow members to bond with one another. Our service events included environmental clean-ups, Johnson & Johnson's Donate a Photo, Support for Exceptional Care for Children (which, like PTP, helps children facing pediatric trauma), and Rice Race. During our club's seventh general meeting, the 2021-2022 officer team was announced and all officers are looking to a great term ahead!

LOS ALTOS -----

LYNBROOK This month, we worked with Superposition's Create an Impact where members created TikToks and writing pieces for the organization, Zooniverse where volunteers helped researchers throughout various projects, and Letters of Love where members created cute cards for their friends. From our Panda Express fundraiser in March, we raised $45.02 for PTP.

MENLO-ATHERTON We’ve been trying to focus on member recruitment. We’re still trying to settle in. We have had weekly meetings every Thursday doing fun service and we’re trying to plan physical volunteer work!

18

MONTA VISTA

Monta Vista Key Club spent the month of April transitioning the new board into the term. Officer training sessions were hosted for board members to help them gain a deeper understanding of their responsibilities, and club meetings were continually hosted with a service event and updates being shared at each biweekly meeting. As the new term progresses, the officer board is working towards hosting summer events in-person with their Kiwanis Club!

MOUNTAIN VIEW

In the past month, Mountain View Key Club has continued to offer weekly service opportunities to members each weekend with events such as Bean Bean Bean and Zooniverse, and we continued promoting our ongoing service opportunities of Charity Miles and sorting/distributing food for the Second Harvest Food Bank. We also began planning events and fundraisers for the next school year.

PALO ALTO

We sent cards to St Judes and worked on making the board member transition as smooth as possible.
