MONTHLY ISSUE Look out for Division & Club Updates!
Hello Hello Purple Penguins! I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! Thank you so much for attending our escape room bonding event, September DWS, RTC/September DCM, and the intro to Key Club webinar! For clubs that held them, congratulations on successful club rushes and meetings! I am very excited to see new members attending events. Dues seasons approaches us very soon. Remember that early-bird is due on NOVEMBER 1st and on-time will be due on DECEMBER 1st. Although we are in the midst of a pandemic, collecting dues is still a vital activity. Now is the time for your creativity to shine! Brainstorm ways to encourage members to pay dues, send constant reminders, and find ways to collect dues in a safe manner. Of course, make sure to work accordingly with your ASB and Kiwanis. This month, look out for more division-wide service opportunities, an exciting DCM to bond at, as well as virtual opportunities from both the CNH District and Key Club International! Please remember to always work your hardest to service and fundraise for your communities. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Read the rest of DNE Alayna's newsletter to learn about branches of the Kiwanis family, monthly recognition, club updates, and more! I hope to see you at our service and bonding events this month!

Hello Key-ute Penguins! Happy almost Halloween ya'll! Hope you all have been doing okay with school lately :D I'm not a person to go all out on Halloween, but I am always super excited to dress up and eat a bunch of candy with my friends >:D I know Halloween plans will definitely be different this year but maybe it's something to be happy about. For someone who gets scared from pretty much anything, I'm personally grateful that I won't get jump scared by anything... hopefully. In the end, it's a true reminder that it's okay to be scared sometimes, and that there are valid reasons for why you might be. No matter what, there will be people there to support you when you're scared, and you will always be able to get through. I can promise that. I mean, look at me! I'm just like you, a high school student, and I've been able to persevere through the scariest and toughest of times, not knowing what the outcome will be. I know everyone's experiences are different but something else I can promise you is that it WILL get better. I mean it. There's nothing to be scared about when you ask for help, No judgement at all; people are just here to help you! Growing tough skin is hard. I've been told many times to, and I'm not there. But it's all a process of improvement! Getting to know myself better, and learning along the way. It's all about believing in yourself! Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking through this newsletter, thanks for reading this! :)Â

OUR CLUBS CUPERTINO
This month, we promoted Charity Miles as our EOTM (Event of the Month) through our website and it was very well received. Our club reached over 900 miles by the end of August and is still increasing. We are also participating more actively in the partnership with COVID networks: before we simply attended yoga sessions with groups of seniors, but now key clubbers lead the yoga sessions and attended the first 1 on 1 bonding chat session with a senior. The informational meeting we planned for 9/2 had to be cancelled due to new district and ASB gudielines.

HOMESTEAD
Our club is very excited for the new school year! Although we currently do not have an advisor, we are working tirelessly to make that happen. Despite this, we are still preparing ways to recruit members and integrate activities and events into a social distancing format. We can’t wait for what we will accomplish this term.
13
LOS ALTOS
Our club has found a new advisor, and has held several officer meetings where we have discussed our plans for club day. We are excited to see the many incoming freshman who will be interested in Key Club.
LYNBROOK
This month we finally received the structure of clubs from ASB for this remote learning year. We will start to hold member meetings in one week (9/17) and have started promoting to get members! So far, our interest form has been successful and our member retention has been good. We hope to continue to interact with these members so that they say active through out the year. We have also started working on our first fundraiser of the year. This will most likely be a restaurant fundraiser from MOD.
MENLO-ATHERTON
School is back in session and Menlo Atherton Key Club is super excited to get back to work! We have held our first meetings of the year on Zoom and have a lot planned for upcoming back-to-school virtual service. We are looking forward to seeing how the rest of the term will go.

MOUNTAIN VIEW
Mountain View Key Club was thrilled to partake in the Charity Miles challenge this month for UNICEF! Many of our members were inspired to get out of the house and get some exercise for a good cause. We also had fun at the Division Letters of Love event. Most of this month was spent preparing for remote club recruitment season.
PALO ALTO
Kyla and I (co-presidents) have been preparing for our school's club day! Prepared for club day presentation. Kyla repaired our website so those looking to be a part of Key Club can have more info easily accessible

VISUALS & ARTICLES WRITING POSTCARDS TO VOTERS
PALO ALTO
We wrote postcards to citizens to remind them to vote. Both members and officers attended. This took place on Saturday August 22.
DCON SHIRT FUNDRAISER/SCHOOL INFORMATIONAL MEETING
CUPERTINO
Our first event was fundraising for the YES! campaign, by selling DCON shirts to our community. We posted this to all our social media pages while following state and CDC guidelines. Our second event was our informational meeting. As a club we decided to start recruitment early so that we were able to maximize the amount of members in Key Club. We have already had 20-25 new members that are interested and some returning members as well. We will be holding our informational meeting on 9/30 as our ASB club commissioners pushed all clubs back.
AUGUST DCM
MONTA VISTA
During the month of August, Monta Vista Key Club, along with several other high school key clubs in D34s, attended the August DCM. During the DCM we partook in the "Letter of Love" Service event where we wrote letter to senior citizens who have the corona virus. All of our officers and a few of our members were able to make it to this DCM and we had a lot of fun working on this service project!
