A Letter from the LTG

A

loha Penguins! Can you believe we’re halfway through the term already! I can’t believe it either but District Convention is actually 6 months away! Anywho, it is now October and it is quite eventful. I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the penguins that came out to Region Training Conference 2017--despite it being my first and last RTC, I had a lot of fun and I hope you did too telling your Tale of Service! ;) If you missed it, no worries! Fall Rally North is coming up and I hope to see you all there dressed up in purple. Be sure to attend our spirit prep on October 14 to ensure that you’re ready

A Letter from the DNE

H

ey Penguins, how has the beginning of school been? Hopefully you’ve been able to find nice teachers and haven’t been too overworked yet. Because it’s the start of the year, and the workload shouldn’t be too much yet, you guys should participate

in as many events as possible to reach our divison goals! In addition to event participation, make sure to purchase some key club gear and also to pay your dues! I know that we can get closer to our division goals this year than last.

for this event. Bring your friends because it’s going to be exciting! If you haven’t registered or thought about going to FRN, please consider and join the experience. Talk to your respective club president as soon as possible! Once again, I hope to see you all there!

Firefighter Pancake Break

E

arlier this month, Fremont and Homestead High School’s Key Clubs partnered together to volunteer at the annual Firefighter Pancake Breakfast at a fire station in Sunnyvale. During the duration of this event, members were assigned different tasks, such as serving pancakes and breakfast items, and assisting children and police officers with fire truck rides. All proceeds the fire station collected from this event was donated to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, which supports child burn victims. This year in particular, the Sunnyvale fire station implemented several recycling and compost stations into the event to encourage our city residents to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

M

oonlight Run is an annual marathon held by the city of Palo Alto. In 2017, the marathon hit its 33rdyear in running. Adults, children, and dogs were found at the marathon. Members of Los Altos Key Club and other organizations were found manning booths, passing out t-shirts, and having a great time bonding!
