Letter from DNE Hey Key-uties! Thank you for taking the time to read through the December Pingu Post! November is coming to an end, and that means we’re only 4 months away from the end of the term! As the season of giving begins, it’s a great time to be more proactive within your own club and community. I’m so excited for all the events that LTG Rebecca and our clubs have planned out. From the Thanksgiving Festival hosted by Cupertino to the Caroling for Cans hosted by Homestead, it’s not only for giving, but also a time for thanking those who have helped you throughout the year. A handwritten card, volunteering for your city, or even a hug is a simple way to show your appreciation for people and communities that care for you. Take some time out of your day today to tell someone “I love you,” or do a simple gesture to show that you care. Just a small bit of kindness can go a long way. Have a wonderful winter Penguins!

October DCM On October 26th, Palo Alto hosted a social at the Winter Lodge ice skating rink to celebrate the winter season. Around 30 division members gathered at the DCM! Everyone had a great time, whether they were wobbling on their skates, clutching to another for support on ice, or just catching up with the other club members.
November DCM Fremont Key Club hosted our November DCM on November 17th at their school cafeteria. More than 50 attendees came and made baby blankets for a local children's hospital. We ran out of materials by 4:00, making all indented blankets before the DCM ended! Thank you penguins for coming out to this event!
Thanksgiving Festival
This term, even as large events like FRN and RTC are ending, I wanted to provide members with opportunities (working with our clubs :D) to bond so that our division can continue to grow as an Ohana. On Saturday, November 23rd, the purple penguins gathered at Ortega Park to celebrate the upcoming holiday by having a thanksgiving festival/potluck! There, members were able to eat yummy food, play exciting games and ice breakers, write letters to the Kiwanis family house, and bond! It was overall a great experience, and I’m excited for more holiday events coming up!
Thank you Cupertino Key for hosting!

OUR CLUBS Cupertino First successful fundraiser held along with constant member attendance to meetings. Consistent number of weekly volunteering events and the building of the club's social media presence.
Fremont This month, Monta Vista has been trying to organize more local service events, such as helping out at the Heroes Run (5k race for kids) and our local elementary school's annual ice cream social! MV Key has also been incorporating more service projects during our meetings too. At our most recent meeting, MV made Thanksgiving placemats for seniors who receive meals from the Meals on Wheels program!

Lynbrook Lynbrook Key Club submitted their member dues payments this week with over 30 members registered. We have also received a generous donation from our Sponsoring Kiwanis and hope to use these funds to initiate fun activities for club socials. In order to end the holiday season before going off to winter break, our officer team was inspired by the November DCM to have a blanket making social within the school club. Our upcoming fundraiser takes place on November 26th at Chipotle. In terms of volunteer events, we have received over 35 signups for the Turkey Trot and are looking forward to meet the runners and help serve our community.
Menlo Atherton ----------------
Monta Vista We’ve opened up the opportunities for member input, encouraging people to contact us and fill out our forms such as the in-meeting snack poll, service event type form, and service event availability form. Additionally, we’ve been helping out at Hope’s Corner to prepare meals for the less fortunate, as well as assisting our school’s Yearbook Committee. We also held a boba fundraiser at our school’s Homecoming Picnic, selling out in just 15 minutes. Right after, we marched in our Homecoming Parade to show our Key Club pride! We even saw a few other Key Clubs at the Halloween Monster Bash in Mountain View.
Mountain View
Mountain View Key Club took on the SERVEtember Initiative Challenge this month! We had a hectic, but thrilling time organizing a Kiwanis Family House donation drive, holding three service events with our local Kiwanis Club, and planning two fundraisers. Additionally, our club held a PTP Picnic, collecting donations for PTP while members learned about pediatric trauma and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch!
Palo Alto We recently had a service event with Paly's SJP program where we helped plant trees and then mulched and we had a really overwhelming attendance rate! We also had a service event at Greendell, a local preschool, to help with their annual Harvest Festival. We primarily helped out at the arts & crafts booth to help the kids create their own artwork! As of now, we are still collecting dues, and we are beginning to plan for our annual, region wide Mr. Key Club event!
VISUALS & ARTICLES NOVEMBER!
Mountain View Mountain View Key Club is working hard on making the most of November. They have taken an initiative on fundraising, helping their community, and being active within the division. During their meetings, they plan to host a coin drive fundraiser to gather coins to donate to PTP! Their goal is to reach is $50 by the end of November. They will also be hosting an in-meeting service event. Members can make dog toys to donate to a local animal shelter. Moreover, they have been attending numerous volunteer events such as the Canopy Tree Planting, Bike Parking at Levi’s Stadium, VA Hospital Visit, and the Division Wide Service event.
MV Key clubbers and Kiwanis at VA Hospital visit.
Members volunteer at Turkey Trot, Cops & Gobblers, and host coin drive for PTP!
MEALS ON WHEELS PROJECT
Monta Vista For our last Key Club Meeting, we held a service project for an organization called Meals on Wheels. We made Thanksgiving themed place mats for seniors that get meals delivered to them. We had lots of fun creating them!
