The price of this 10” subwoofer enclosure was about NZ $36.00 + freight so about $ 50.00 rounded up! Like all the other enclosures I bought quiet reasonable, but also pretty unusable (to my personal opinion) if it would come to some bass sound quality yet I guess for Bum-Bum it would be OK - maybe. Anyway, first up I was asked by a friend to slap one together cheap& nasty was the idea, and even that it can be quiet difficult to do that …. At least it was for me! So I replaced the existing very thin damping material with some thicker sheets, and I replaced the connector plate suited for a DVC woofer. I even refrained myself first time around from using Hi-Fi Audio Allen key screws with inner wood self looking nuts …. So simple just wood screws as that I found is the norm in automotive. The next three Images show this enclosure as it was first finished! Please Note: That the weight of this enclosure without the woofer was when unpacked 6.64 Kg .

Well, I think a total strip down would be appropriate to start off with! So the next Image will show that not so pretty stage and further more the fitting of the heavy duty audio spikes to decouple the enclosure followed by a view of the same enclosure newly recovered with much better material, and lined with a first layer of a heavy duty damping material! There is also a second heavy Absorption layer placed on the Top, Rear & Bottom of the enclosure yet this material is not on either sides of the box as there are the Dual Action Floating - Resonance Dispersion Reflectors (Resonance Absorber Plates) which act on the outside panel very effectively! You also can see that there is the large panel (coloured shiny black) and the smaller plate which is covered with some 4D Carbon Fibre material. I like to mention that the woofer is mounted now with 8 x No. 6 / 32 Imperial Allen key screws, and secured from the inside by Hi-Fi Audio wood self locking - locknuts. Next up a few more Images of the nearly finished Sub Woofer Enclosure and the supplied hardware to connect it in different ways to an Amplifier etc. Enjoy ….

Please Note: This unit has been carefully ‘Run In’ & Tested etc. using an Audio Wave Generator & CD’s, Amplified Sounds & a De-Magnetised maintenance process to ensure proper preparation to run in any Hi-Fi or Automotive Environment.

Dual action Resonance plates are truly something else when it comes to delivering good results, and I think that I now will try when a suitable enclosure comes along to go and use one or two more layers and see how that will work!

With all of this work done to this enclosure Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m so pleased with the end result when I started listening to it, but also because by using these very heavy duty spikes that I could not feel any of the powerful bass Information in the floor boards of the house or my feet sitting next to it.

These days everything seem to be about the Visual aspects of any bodies work, but I guess this unit is like most sub woofers quiet plain & unobtrusive especially talking here about Sealed Enclosures like this one bearing its main features within - hidden away. I mean the chassis is quiet impressive yet what do you see is not very much once mounted in the enclosure. At the time of publishing this booklet the unit was run for around three (3) days with a Audio Sine Wave Generator sweeping through the important Frequencies for this chassis as well as each day run for an hour + with sound material which was suited for Run In! As in general I have to admit that I always have been using the slow approach when running these type of subs which means I used about 3 weeks as my preferred ‘Run In’ period and was always happy after that to crank it never loosing one as yet through whatever reason.

Please Note: My overall first Impression of this unit was - True Amassment - as I was quiet smitten with the very Precise Responsiveness - On & Off playing bass information within some music material truly passing its program information outwards with a very precise, clear bass information without boom nor by creating an unwanted back wave as it simple stopped death when the information stopped - no defuse info, no unwanted colouring thanks to the heavy duty dual Resonance panels …. Or else - just a bass which was already now extremely pleasant to listen too!
