Twenty-eight years . Nearly three decades of the Golf Classic, amounting to thousands of holes played and even more dollars raised in support of Prairie’s scholarship fund . It’s an event to be proud of, and we are grateful to have you join us this year
The Golf Classic has stood the test of time since its start in 1997, flourishing into a remarkable event that consistently ranks in the nation’s top five percent of golf outings . Over its history, the Golf Classic has amassed well over $1 .7 million for Prairie’s scholarship fund, a program that has proven vital for deserving students and their families .
While the Golf Classic was started by John Gittings and Joe Marino, former TPS trustees, their inspiration came from Gene Johnson’s vision . Through events like this, we can continue to move our school forward, creating access to the transformative potential of a Prairie education .
Tee shots can go awry and putts might be missed, but today, it’s truly about having fun on the course with this amazing community . And if golf isn’t part of your itinerary, tonight’s festivities – a few signature drinks, a little bit of competition, inspired cuisine, and live music while the sun sets – are sure to bring just as much joy .

Longest Putt (Hole 3)
Cost: Free
Prize: Box of ProV1 Golf Balls
The golfer who sinks the longest putt wins! Markers on the green indicate the current best shot . If your putt is longer than the current best, move the marker to the spot where you putted from and write your name on it as the new winner .
to the Pin (Hole 8)
Cost: Free
Prize: Box of ProV1 Golf Balls
The golfer whose ball is closest to the flagstick after teeing off wins! Markers in the fairway or on the green indicate the current best shot . If your shot beats the current best, move the marker to the spot where your ball is and write your name on it as the new .
Beat the Pro with Brian Eitel ’18 (Hole 10)
Cost: $25
Prize: 50/50
Think you can beat pro golfer and Prairie alumnus Brian Eitel ’18? Here’s your chance to prove it! Each participant will go against Brian; whoever’s shot lands closest to the pin will have their name put into a drawing for 50% of the game’s proceeds . Bet on yourself or your friend, and see who can beat the pro .
Drive (Hole 12 - Women’s; Hole 18 - Men’s)
Cost: Free
Prize: Box of ProV1 Golf Balls
The longest tee shot for both men and women that lands and stays in the fairway wins this competition . Markers in the fairway or on the green indicate the current best shot . If your shot beats the current best, move the marker to the spot where your ball lies and write your name on it as the new leader .
Bonus: The shortest drives of the day will go home with a special gift as well!
Every foursome will receive one yellow golf ball during registration . The goal? Keep the ball through all 18 holes, with players taking turns using the yellow ball as their tee shot . Foursomes that still have their yellow ball at the end of the day will be entered into a drawing to each receive a custom Prairie Yeti .
50/50 Raffle
Cost: $5 for 1 ticket, $20 for 5 tickets or $100 for 25 tickets
Purchase the ticket quantity of your choice . One lucky ticket will be drawn during dinner . The winner will walk away with half of the total raised in the raffle while the rest goes straight to our scholarship fund . Must be present to win .
Bottle Putt
Cost: $25
If you’ve played mini golf, you can take on Bottle Putt! Grab a putter, aim for your favorite bottle of spirits, and if your ball hits the bottle, it’s yours to keep .
Big Boards
Cost: $40 per square or 3 for $100
30 squares per board
Pick a square for a chance at an awesome prize! Each Big Board has a single package up for grabs, and every square you choose gives you a 1 in 30 chance of winning .
Bucket Toss
Cost: $25 per 6 throws
Take your best shot at landing a rubber ball in each of the six buckets . If you’re able to get a ball in every bucket, you’ll walk away with a $25 gift card to a Prairie family-owned business!
Tic Tac Putt
Cost: $25 per 3 putts
Show off your putting skills and sink three golf balls into a tic-tactoe grid – diagonally, vertically, or across . Land all three of your putts and walk away with a $25 gift card to a Prairie family-owned business!
Battlechip
Cost: $25 per 2 chips
Chipping just got a lot more interesting! Players have three tries to land a chip shot in the floating hole . For each shot made, put your name in a drawing to win a day of golf at the RCC:
