THE MONTH OF SAGITTARIUS

Quote: “Friday, I tasted life. It was a vast morsel. A circus passed the house- still, I feel the red in my mind though the drums are out. The lawn is full of south and the odors tangle, and I hear today for the first time, the river in the tree.”

Characteristics:

Positive Traits:

Negative Traits:

Personal Creed - Vision Positive Masculine sign Element- Fire Energy- Mutable Psychological type- Intuitive Impulsive Independent Idealistic Straightforward Talkative Flighty Sarcastic Dogmatic Unreliable Aggressive

Overview: Sagittarius' are known to get a lot of stares, and I believe they are naive in thinking it’s because of their good looks. When it’s the complete opposite, however, that doesn’t stop them from stealing the show. They love attention, whether good or bad Their differences make them stand out and proud

Personal Love: Could someone be having an affair? Is it me or you, the sag says while looking into the mirror Maybe you are a little insecure about your looks and need to consider joining the gym Or perhaps there’s somebody new that you have your eye on, but they are not responding. Either way, chin up, shoulders out.

Personal Money: Liking to treat yourself every now and then is not a problem at all. But to do it just to gain the likes of others is a bit over the top. Let somebody else pick up the check. Besides, it’s your birthday month.

What inspired your start in entrepreneurship?

“Time Freedom” was my motivation

As a wife, a mother of three children, a former full-time college administrator, and a woman of many other hats there was a lack of enough hours in the day to make it all happen Being that SUPERWOMAN as many often titled me, was beginning to take a toll on me. Although it may have seemed like I was getting it all done, I was struggling in other areas of my life My daily commute was draining and an increasing desire for more was burning Becoming my own Boss seemed far-fetched. With a leap of faith and an invitation from a friend, I was introduced to my second network marketing opportunity that would begin to change the trajectory of my life after only two years in

You are now a multi-six-figure earner, what would you say has been the key to you growing your business?

I have always believed, “ your network determines your net worth”. Surrounding myself with like-minded individuals whose goals aligned with mine were key Being a “hope dealer” and building confidence in women and men through a non-traditional opportunity has allowed me to build and grow a massive team of 105,000 consultants globally. Branding myself consistently, people don’t buy into the products, they buy into you Building relationships, providing support, and personalized coaching with my respective business partners over my journey have been an integral part of my business growth and success

Tell us about your company

I am the CEO/Owner of the Dazzling Diva Collection, LLC, and a Style Influencer, who empowers women and men through fashionable, affordable accessories for less I dazzle you with designs that bring out the “DIVA” in you that have you feeling confident and empowered without breaking the bank. The price point is unmatched for quality and that is what sets it apart from the rest It’s so much more than the jewelry, The Dazzling Diva gives an everlasting experience with every encounter. Show others how to look fabulous for less and gain financial freedom too

You recently began offering keynote addresses at conferences, what messages do you hope women take away from your platform?

“No one is you and that is your SUPERPOWER”! ~Unknown Greatest lies in each one of us, but we must get up and walk in it Success starts with you As Eric Thomas so powerfully stated, “If you want it as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful ”

Where do you hope to see your brand in the next 3-5 years?

I want The Dazzling Diva Collection to become a household name and the jewelry plug for all your accessories needs The fashion accessories industry will forever be a booming industry “I don’t like affordable, fashionforward accessories”, said no one ever! With the inflation of almost everything, the price point is what sets us apart from the rest The industry and my brand will continue to evolve for years to come as new trends arise As we often like to say, “While $5 jewelry may not change the world, we believe those who wear it will!” Empowering women on a global scale with messages of inspiration, empowerment, and education.

PERSIA TURK, THE CREATOR OF PERSIA’S HAIR & GLAM BAR

PERSIA TURK is a passionate, lively, giving, and kind-spirited young lady who strives to purposefully impress and satisfy every client who leaves her chair Persia Turk is an aspiring traveling hairstylist A native of Cobb County’s Austell, GA, Persia services all of Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas. Persia is known for her best work in box braids, twists, and faux locs but specializes in the multidimensional coloring of both natural hair and weaves Persia learned to braid on her own by watching YouTube videos and practicing on her dolls.

To connect with Persia, follow her on Instagram @persiashairandglambar

At the age of 14, she learned natural haircare techniques, chemical and color application processes, and her unique Silk Press Method from her mentor in a local salon She’s also skilled in ponytails, lace front installations, blunt cuts, and soft styles

Persia discovered her passion for hair in early childhood, playing with dolls She would ask for a styling head for Christmas every year and would even braid, cut, or style the hair on her Barbie Dolls. As time progressed, her passion developed into a love for hair.

She started, like most stylists doing hair in her parent’s home kitchen and her bedroom. Her friends and family allowed her to practice and perfect her gift, but she was also privileged to have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and tutelage under a total of 4 local hair stylists through middle school, high school, and after graduation who allowed her to shadow in their salons In the spring of 2020, Persia decided to start building a brand now known as Persia’s Hair & Glam Bar, where Pretty Has A Purpose.

Inspired by other young entrepreneurs, Persia started her business before graduating high school to get a head start on her career. Persia is an 18-year-old 2022 high school graduate from Pebblebrook High School, where she studied in their cosmetology program Being sure of her career path, Persia decided to further her education and training after high school and is currently enrolled as a full-time student at The Health and Style Institute in Kennesaw, GA. She is studying to become a Master Cosmetologist and graduate with a certification in Spa and Salon Leadership and Business Administration.

Persia is enjoying the journey to mastering her craft and developing her natural gift of hair styling She does hair part time some evenings

In June 2022, Persia expanded her brand and created a product She launched her first product line, a Castor and Avocado Oil-based Edge Tamer. Persia was inspired to create this product because it was difficult to find edge-tamer products that did not flake or turn white She wanted to create an edge tamer that promoted hair growth, worked for all hair types, provided maximum hold but would not break the hair, and moisturized the scalp. Persia continues to add more products for both healthy hair care and weave maintenance Upon graduating in 2023, Persia plans to secure a booth space in a local salon and build her clientele while continuing to expand her brand. Her goal is to own a salon within 5 years, employ other stylists, and eventually travel the world doing hair for highprofile women and celebrity clients

How did the journey with your hair get started?

As a little girl, as far as I can remember, around the age of 3 or 4, I used to love doing my doll’s hair more than dressing them up I also would always see my mom spend hours doing her hair weaves in the bathroom. When she came out, it looked like she had been to the salon I used to be so fascinated with her hairstyles I would try to duplicate them on my dolls She used to go to the salon for special styles she couldn’t do, and I would go with her if the stylists permitted. I used to pay close attention to everything the stylists did, then go home and try it on my dolls My mom would install her own hair weaves, being that she had alopecia. So, I learned a lot from watching her and practicing on my dolls

What inspired you to create your own products?

Being that I am very much into hair, you can imagine how into hair products I am. I mean, I love quality products I use various products on my hair and have very soft but thick hair Since I am very particular about the products I use on my clients, I always look for the best products and try to keep products for all hair types in stock I could not find one edge tamer with a stronghold that didn’t break the hair Or I couldn’t find one that wasn’t too oily, flakey, or turned white. I started researching and became inspired to develop a Castor and Avocado Oil-based Edge Tamer. These two main ingredients promote hair growth, work on all hair types, and moisturize the scalp while providing a maximum hold that doesn’t cause breakage. I also needed products added to my brand to create more income. I have three more products that will launch in 2023

What obstacles and victories have you experienced as a young entrepreneur?

As a young entrepreneur, one of my main obstacles was feeling like the market was too saturated I always knew that my gift for doing hair was great, but the disappointment in losing clients to other stylists who were more skilled at my age was discouraging at times

I had to learn that this is how entrepreneurship goes I also had to learn to be consistent and stay abreast of all the trending styles and techniques to keep my clientele growing. After seeing the demand increase for my work, I became more encouraged and re-focused. My greatest victory as a young entrepreneur is having the support of my mom My mom pushes me even when I don’t want to be pushed, but I appreciate her moral and financial support because not everyone my age has a strong support system as I do I am blessed to have a mom who understands the highs and lows of entrepreneurship and whom I have access to get advice from right in my home. She holds me accountable for what I say I want to do and helps position me for the success she knows lies ahead

Who has been an inspiration to you while starting and actively working on your business and brand?

While I’ve been inspired by many stylists, I’m inspired most by the likes of Kim Kimble and Ta’Nita Gunn for their natural haircare and styles, The Razor Chic for her cut and styles, Frenchy Doll Face/Frenshel Cooper for her weave installs, styles, and coloring I am most inspired by my mom and the hustle I’ve witnessed in her as a strong, gifted, motivated, and successful entrepreneur. My mom is most definitely a Pretty Woman Who Hustles!

How can people connect with you and keep up with what you’re doing? Please follow me on Instagram @persiashairandglambar

What else are you working on? Any new projects in the works?

Right now, I am focused on being productive in school, learning all I need to know to go out into the world next year as a Master Cosmetologist. I am working on some new products to add to my brand launching by March 2023. Lastly, I’ve invested in my growth by registering to take the Sierra Glam Tour Full Lace Wig Application Class in December hosted by Sierra Glamshop, a seven-figure Beauty Industry Serial Entrepreneur and founder of the Money Monsters University based here in Atlanta The class is hands-on and will help enhance my skills and techniques, enabling me to add a premium service to my price menu.

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles?

I believe a Pretty Woman Who Hustles is a female who is about self-care, purpose, goals, business, and money.

What inspired your start in writing children's books?

Truth be told after the death of my oldest son; I felt a void My prayers went up and blessings came down with the wisdom of God my thoughts were put in place.

Do you recall the moment you fell in love with reading and writing? As a child I enjoyed reading and, in the 5th, grade writing poems I never dreamed of writing children's books

Who do you tribute your love for words and sharing inspiration?

GOD! My void was filled. I feel as if God is using me to bring happiness to all children through the writing of the books

Tell us about the Next Chapter Series.

The Next Chapter Series gets its name from the anticipation to follow along. I am starting with two books "Mommy, Can I Look Like You " and "Daddy, Can I Walk in Your Shoes " However, all praises to God there will be more books to come showing love within relationships, situations, animals, and environment

Where do you hope to see your work in the next 3-5 years?

I hope to see my books in every book store on every library book shelf. We will be on children's home book cases. Our books will be turned into movies. To sum it up diverse books for a diverse world. We will see Next Chapter Series Grow.

What is your definition of a Pretty?

I am a pretty woman who hustle hard I have work two jobs, tired and give from my heart I don't mind helping others even if they light is dark My children stayed clean and always looked like they belong I cook, cleaned, checked homework and still looked for the best! We went to church and praised because I had to stay sweet. Sometimes I fell to my knees and even had to curse to show I am a woman in need.

JAMAICA MILESBEY

Born and raised in Chicago, IL by a single mother and had 3 sidekicks (siblings). I’m the middle child, the second oldest I was what my mom would call her “special” child, I always walked to the beat of my own drum, always learning the hard way I attended elementary school and high school on the South Side of Chicago.

J N Thorp Elementary and New Millennium School of Health aka Bowen I was a teenage mom at the age of 17 but was wonderfully supported by my mother, sister, and brothers. I graduated high school in 2009 and had no idea what to really do next. I enlisted in the Military, worked almost

every job you could think of, and went to school, all while being a full-time single mom. In 2012, I relocated to Minnesota with my son and no family hoping for a fresh start For 3 years, I resided in a little town called Gaylord, MN I don’t know how I ended up there but I did. In 2015, I was convicted of 2nd Degree Drug Possession and relocated to Minneapolis (70 miles from Gaylord) when I was released from jail For 4 years, I was homeless with my son due to my felony Having the 2nd Degree of Drug Possession felony charge on my record made it very hard to find an apartment. I was, however, able to find work, so I worked

every job that I could during that time.

A lot of things happened to me during that time but also, many beautiful things happened to me I overcame so many adversities throughout my life but nothing like those 4 years I experienced. I was given 7 years probation which I was released early from after 3 years and my felony was adjudicated and dropped down to a Misdemeanor

Every day during that time, I learned something new about myself. I was introduced to another JAMAICA that I was proud of. During those 4 years of homelessness, I suffered from

depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts I looked physically ill from not eating so my son could eat only weighing 100lbs at 6ft tall

I smoked black and milds (Ewww) every day, at least 3-4 times a day, and drank nothing but coffee. I had lost my mind and my heart was very cold however, God wouldn’t allow me to lose my spirit My mom would always say how she was afraid for to me leave the “nest” but leaving the nest was one of the best things that could have happened to me. I’ve learned so much and appreciated every step of the way no matter how bad it was because of what it taught me about myself and about life.

I’m blessed to say that I am 30 years of age and I know my purpose, I know what I’m supposed to be doing and I’m doing it. There are so many women just like me, in the same situation or worst trying to figure it out and do the best they can My journey has allowed me to see that there is a problem happening within women. I took on so much and I feel like I was supposed to so that I was prepared for what would happen next in my life

I’m blessed to say that I am 30 years of age and I know my purpose, I know what I’m supposed to be doing and I’m doing it There are so many women just like me, in the same situation or worst trying to figure it out and do the best they can My journey has allowed me to see that there is a problem happening within women. Before we get into all the juicy stuff, let our readers know Who is Jamaica Milesbey?

Jamaica is a lot of things (lol). Born and raised on Chicago's Eastside, a middle child I was raised by a single mom and I was that child that walked to the beat of her own drum, my mom always worried about me and what I would do next. I've always been very sociable, creative, strong-minded, and disciplined. I'm a Christian woman with a strong faith and spirit I am very, very observant and organized, nearly OCD I love with all my heart, I truly believe that being loving and caring breaks walls that seem almost impossible.

I love to laugh, and I believe in being transparent, honest, being fearless but also having wisdom and discernment I'm ambitious and a strong believer in "anything can be done" if you work hard, are consistent, and love what you do and who you do it for Selfless, no matter what

You're a mother, an entrepreneur, and a survivor. How did your personal journey lead you to the creation of The M.A.I.C.A. Organization?

As hard as my journey was, it did lead me to beautiful things like creating The M.A.I.C.A Organization. My journey really allowed me to take a step back (or a few) and look at the "why", the "what" and the "how" The "why" is that accountability factor, realizing that we did something or nothing to get ourselves where we are. When you ask yourself, as I've asked myself many times, "why am I here, why is this happening to me?", you realize it all comes back to a choice we made "What do I do ?" and "How do I do it?", are the questions that should create the layout for improving yourself and your life. That's how M.A.I.C.A was created. An organization to help women who are struggling in areas of their lives understand the "why" and change it by figuring out the "what" and "how" As a result of my journey, many women I've encountered have used these principles and changed their lives

What is The M A I C A Organization? The M A I C A Organization is RAW, we break down the worst parts of ourselves and transform those parts into the best things about us. M A I C A is an acronym for Majestic, Accomplished, Individuals, Conquering, All It's understanding that we're beautiful (Majestic) no matter what the situation looks like. Remembering that every yesterday is an accomplishment When you feel like nothing is progressing around you, you feel like you're not accomplishing anything Being a part of The M.A.I.C.A Organization reminds you, you are.

Conquering reminds women that every day we face our situation, we're conquering. We're human and we're majestic, we're accomplishing and have accomplished so much and for the rest of our lives, we will conquer whatever is thrown at us

Tell our readers how you envision The M A I C A Organization's future I envision The M A I C A Organization forever making an impact and changing lives My family always calls me "MAICA" It's short for Jamaica and when I hear people talk about M.A.I.C.A and being a part of it, I hear them being a part of me. The future is bright for the organization and forever expanding into the lives of all women, young, homeless, rich, Christian, whatever. Every woman is every woman. The organization is not and will never be a business of "paperwork" and "Let's see if you qualify" but of a need being met Women will come, get help and resources, therapy, a hug, a compliment, a snack, and what they need even if it's just for a moment The future for The M A I C A Organization is a love and abundant; it goes beyond what we can do because God oversees it It's worldwide

If you could have any investor in the world pour into your organization, who would it be and why? If I could have any investor pour into The M.A.I.C.A Organization it would be Tyler Perry. I have read, researched, and followed Tyler Perry's story and am in awe of all he has done and overcome He shares a story like so many people around the world who have been homeless and have dug themselves out of the dirt I can relate to him in so many ways and the fact that he does so much for the culture is empowering and motivating He brought himself up, he believed in himself and what he was trying to accomplish and brought it to life Him investing in The M A I C A organization says to me "I see you and I know you're going to make a difference". Anyone willing to invest, in any amount, in any way says to me "I'm investing in the change that I believe only you can help make in others". They believe in me and I believe in God.

Finally, what does it mean to be a Pretty Woman Who Hustles? To be a Pretty Woman Who Hustles to me means, being ready to get dirty Being ready to get your hair wet, break a nail, or have smeared eyeliner I believe the misconception is that you "look pretty" during the hustle but if you're truly hustling, you don't return the same way you left Beauty is what your hustle creates, the bigger picture, the outcome is pretty. I'm a pretty woman who hustles but, pretty is the picture not the process. Being beautiful on the inside, having confidence, and knowing your value and who you are, that's a Pretty Woman Who Hustles.

Surround oneself with supportive company and participate in the opportunity to honor the loss. That can be in the form of sharing stories, prayer, or creating a memory book,” she continues “Although grief can be isolating and painful with little relief, try to refrain from making major decisions,” Sarita adds.

African American Grief by Paul C. Rosenblatt and Beverly R. Wallace

African American Grief is a unique contribution to the field as a professional resource for counselors, therapists, social workers, clergy, and nurses and a reference volume for thanatologists, academics, and researchers The classic edition includes a new preface from the authors reflecting on their work and the changes in society and the field since the book’s initial publication.

This work considers the potential effects of slavery, racism, and white ignorance and oppression on the African American experience and conception of death and grief in America.

Sweet Dreams by Chaundra Scott, MSW

Based on interviews with 26 African Americans who have faced the death of a significant person in their lives, the authors document, describe, and analyze key phenomena of the unique African American experience of grief The book combines moving narratives from the interviewees with sound research, analysis, and theoretical discussion of important issues in thanatology, as well as topics such as the influence of the African American church, gospel music, family grief, medical racism as a cause of death, and discrimination during life and after death.

She guides you through the pain of grief whether you’ve lost the person recently or long ago and shows you what it looks like to honor your loss on your unique terms, and debunks the idea of grief stages or timelines Grief is Love is about making space for the transformation that a significant loss requires.

In beautiful, compassionate prose, Lee elegantly offers wisdom about what it means to authentically and defiantly claim space for grief’s complicated feelings and emotions. And Lee is no stranger to grief herself She shares her journey after losing her mother, a pregnancy, and, most recently, a cousin to the COVID-19 pandemic. These losses transformed her life and led her to question what grief is and what healing looks like In this book, she also explores the unique impact of grief on Black people and reveals the key factors that proper healing requires: permission, care, feeling, grace, and more

The transformation we each undergo after loss is the indelible imprint of the people we love on our lives, which is the true definition of legacy. At its core, Grief is Love explores what comes after death and shows us that if we are able to own and honor what we’ve lost, we can experience a beautiful and joyful life in the midst of grief.

Grief Is Love: Living with Loss by Marisa Renee Lee

In Grief is Love, author Marisa Renee Lee reveals that healing does not mean moving on after losing a loved one healing means learning to acknowledge and create space for your grief. It is about learning to love the one you lost with the same depth, passion, joy, and commitment you did when they were alive, perhaps even more

No one said life would be fair. Still, we suffer the pain of loss, addiction, and rejection And no matter what we do, it suffocates us, leaving us powerless to stop it But the truth is, we can do something about this pain we can submit wholeheartedly to God. And through this submission, we can transform our pain into purpose

It’s Time To Make A Change: 30 Days To Renew Your Mind, Heart, & Soul by Shani E McIlwain

Over the course of thirty days, It’s Time to Make a Change will challenge you to change your life through Christ. Each day provides a scripture reading, a meditation, and a specific call to action that will help you overcome self-doubt, bitterness, anger, and selfishness To complement each reading, Shani E. McIlwain shares personal stories of her own struggles and journey toward a stronger faith and a deeper sense of fulfillment, inspiring you to give control to Christ so He can lead you to something greater.

It’s also important to show your support for others as they experience grief and loss. “Bereavement support can be in the form of creating a space of nonjudgment for loved ones to talk about the loss, cry, and give permission for the family member to have a pleasant time without guilt. Another supportive method is actively listening and offering help when needed,” Sarita Ford continues

“If grief becomes long-lasting, it is recommended that the individual seek counseling from an expert or support group,” she adds. So while you’re in the midst of this year’s holiday season, try to live in the moment while cherishing your fond memories Your memories will allow you to go through your grief and not around it. Experience it in any form or longevity that you need There is no right or wrong way I pray that these resources will help to restore your joy, love, and memories in a positive manner. Happy Holidays this season and each day beyond.

Can you explain to our readers about the Creu, “SisterGirls United to Build Confidence & Character, One Girl, One Woman at a Time?”

Ahhh! The Girl, Affirm YourSelf! Creu yes, we are a social organization of women that I like to classify as SisterGirls in unity The women in the sisterhood are mostly women who can identify to some degree with the Fatherless Daughter Syndrome Some of the sisters may have been raised in a home without a bio dad or grew up with an emotionally detached father in the home. Others, like me, may have raised daughters of an absentee dad or could have daddy issues due to a dysfunctional relationship with their father

Generally, the father hasn’t been fully available to the female at some point in her life. A girl’s identity is found in her father. Her first perspective of a man, how he should treat her, and what to look for in a companion all comes from the father When the father is absent or neglects her in any aspect, her self-confidence and selfworth fall to an all-time low. So, my plight to Build Confidence & Character, One Girl, One Woman at A Time, is one I am proud to share with females all over the world because it takes a village.

We are united to raise awareness of FDS in our communities, interrupt the cycle, and serve as a support system throughout the discovery and healing process. Many women have never heard of FDS and cannot relate their emotional distress to it until coming in contact with an advocate The world calls it Daddy Issues and keeps it swept under the rug while the female race continues to mask its issues by filling voids. “Fatherless Daughter Syndrome, known as Daddy Issues, is an emotional disorder that stems from issues with trust and lack of self-esteem that leads to a cycle of repeated dysfunctional decisions in relationships with self, men, and money.”

As a Fatherless Daughter Advocate, I am trained to spot the primary symptoms and characteristics of FDS (no sense of identity, anger, rage, overly success-driven, low selfesteem, fear of abandonment or rejection, series of bad relationships, multiple divorces, depression, selfsabotaging, validation seeking, inconsistency, lack of self-care, etc ) in women and girls and help provide the encouragement, resources, and tools they need to transform their emotional traumas into triumph

My goal is to connect with a minimum of 500 women and girls per year to help heal the pain and end the cycle of emotional distress that stems from the Fatherless Daughter Syndrome. While this is the goal, we have lots of fun in the sisterhood while supporting and serving The organization was birthed after I wrote and published Girl, Affirm YourSelf! A 90-Day Devotional that renews the mind, cleanses the heart, and strengthens the spirit of every woman who desires to see herself through God’s eyes We are Confident We are Resilient We are Exquisite. We are Unique.

What do you feel is the next natural progression for Nameica & brands? I believe the next natural progression for the Nameica Enterprises, LLC and Nameica Speaks brand would be the transition from only empowering females into serving and empowering men as well

Being that I am helping to heal the emotional traumas of fatherlessness in women and girls, I would be remiss if I didn’t enlighten, encourage, and educate the male race on how they can heal and be present in the most sacred aspects of their daughters’ lives Many fathers don’t know how to be fathers because they can’t give what they never had Many men were taught to suppress their human emotions, so how would they know how to be emotionally available to their daughters? If the male can’t be emotionally connected to himself, there’s no way he can understand how to meet the emotional needs of his daughter. In the words of my father during our healing conversation, “I was a young father, baby girl I did the best I knew how ” That was healing for my soul! I respect and appreciate my dad for saying those words By the way, we have a close bond and an amazing relationship. My father was very present. I was raised in a two-parent home, but we had our ups and downs He taught me the majority of all the morals and work ethics I have today, but there were some things he didn’t teach me because he didn’t know how.

In addition to everything else, you are a Certified Fatherless Daughter Advocate and Purpose Coach who loves empowering women. What is one of your mantras or words to live by that you often use to inspire other women such as yourself?

My favorite mantra is, “Don’t let life live you, live life ” My other favorite mantra, of course, is “Girl, Affirm YourSelf! We cannot rely on others to affirm us. We must operate in the divine authority and dominion God gave us and affirm ourselves through His Word

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles?

A pretty woman who hustles is a woman who is both confident and secure in her gifts, skills, ability, value, and persona She does nothing in vain but everything with purpose A pretty woman who hustles is selfassured and operates in her feminine power to achieve her life goals while leading others along the way

HOW IMPORTANT IS A BUSINESS PLAN?

Have you constantly contemplated starting your own business? Do you not know where to start or which resources are the most valuable? Are you questioning whether or not you need to create a business plan? Let me start by telling you that ALL businesses need to create a business plan! This is one of the most skipped steps when starting your business and one of the most important steps to creating a thriving business. Let’s dive into some of the biggest resources of having a business plan

Do You Really Need A Business Plan?

A business plan is a very important and strategic tool for entrepreneurs A good business plan not only helps entrepreneurs focus on the specific steps necessary for them to make business ideas succeed, but it also helps them to achieve shortterm and long-term objectives

A business plan is a very important and strategic tool for entrepreneurs A good business plan not only helps entrepreneurs focus on the specific steps necessary for them to make business ideas succeed, but it also helps them to achieve shortterm and long-term objectives Benjamin Franklin once said, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” (Benjamin Franklin).

While a business plan is essential to entrepreneurship, not every entrepreneur sees the need for one. Many are reluctant to have their plan written down, and numerous online articles claim that the business plan is dead or irrelevant Of course, not everyone agrees with that Many business funding experts support the idea that having a good business plan is not enough.

Even excellent business ideas can be useless if you cannot formulate, execute and implement a strategic plan to make your business idea work. If you are looking to raise funds from institutional investors and lenders, keep in mind that having a good business plan is extremely valuable. You should aim to have a well-documented plan that speaks for itself It needs to be clear and easy to read and understand

Before writing a business plan, it is important to consider two important factors: For example, if you are interested in raising capital, investors will likely be your target audience. If you are interested in partnerships or joint ventures, your potential business partners will be your audience. Whoever this audience may be, focus on the key message you want them to receive in order to get the response you want

Who will the reader be? What do you want their response to be?

Four Reasons to Write a Business Plan

To raise money for your business

Potential investors or lenders want a written business plan before they give you money. A mere description of your business concept is not enough. Instead, ensure you have a thorough business and financial plan demonstrating the likelihood of success and how much you will need for your business to succeed in the long-term.

To make sound decisions

As an entrepreneur, having a business plan helps you define and focus on your business ideas and strategies. You not only concentrate on financial matters but also on management issues, human resource planning, technology, and creating value for your customer.

To help you identify any potential weaknesses

Having a business plan helps you identify potential pitfalls in your idea You can also share the plan with others who can give you their opinions and advice. Identify experts and professionals who are in a position to give you invaluable advice and share your plan with them

To communicate your ideas with stakeholders

A business plan is a communication tool that you can use to secure investment capital from financial institutions or lenders. You can also use it to convince people to work for your enterprise, secure credit from suppliers, and attract potential customers.

Creating a business plan involves a lot of thought You need to consider what you want to do and use that as a starting point. It does not need to be complicated.

At its core, your plan should identify where you are now, where you want your business to go and how you will get there Writing a good business plan does not guarantee success, but it can go a long way toward reducing the odds of failure. Besides, even if you are not looking for investment, your entrepreneurial plans will fall flat quickly without a plan to guide them.

How Long Should a Business Plan Be?

This is a really good question!

It should be as long or as short as it needs to be

There is no hard and fast rule. Some past grant winners have had very short business plans with their applications, while other winners have had very long business plans. Simply provide the best business plan to demonstrate to the review committee what your business and/or organization does and how you operate
