Healthy mental health is a lifestyle
By: Latrina Caldwell Life Coach
The world is becoming more and more open in mental health care; taking care of emotions, thoughts and behaviors are becoming a priority for many more people. Because more people are realizing mental disorders and emotional distress are health problems that affect our lifestyle. So, what do you do to stay physically and mentally healthy? We will tell you below. Self-love basics for a healthy lifestyle Perhaps the following tips seem very basic and plain, but all this is the basis of a good lifestyle. It will be impossible for you to find peace of mind and physical health if you do not reconcile most of these tips, so pay close attention. 1. Take care of your sleep hours It is incredible how bad sleep can affect our behavior, our mood and our physical health; that is why it is one of the most basic healthy lifestyle cares of all. Therefore, make sure to follow a routine of 6 to 8 hours of sleep in a row a day. 2. Pay attention to what you eat We are not talking about taking out junk food and your favorites from your life; however, you must prioritize better attention to what you eat. To maintain good physical and mental wellbeing you must ingest vitamins and other nutrients from fruits, vegetables, foods rich in fiber and protein. 3. Schedule your time You must learn to prioritize certain activities, but also take into account your capabilities and resources. You should not require yourself to fulfill an agenda that prevents you from fulfilling the most elementary self-love basics on this list.
4. Get physically active Doing mild to moderate physical activities, such as walking, jogging, and cardio is one of the most important healthy lifestyle cares. Exercise is proven to help secrete hormones related to feelings of comfort and happiness. 5. Connect with your loved ones Remember humans are social beings, so we need that contact constantly. So, call that friend you have not seen for a long time, or visit your family on weekends; just do activities that help you connect with yours. 6. Seek professional help If things seem too difficult to accomplish on your own, do not be afraid; get help from a good emotional and mental health professional. It will guide you on a path to wellness and give you tools to deal with your problems. 7. Always be your priority Last but not least, the last of the self-love basics is you always have to be your first priority. This has nothing to do with being selfish, but many times we tend to think of others more than ourselves, and that can be self-defeating sometimes. Therefore, whenever you do something, do it thinking about how it will affect you. And with this last tip, you can start to have a good balance in your life and increase your self-esteem progressively. Always remember, a healthy mental well-being is a lifestyle and you must always pursue that goal.
How a local nonprofit owner is using digital marketing to end bullying: Kelli Boone from Charlotte, North Carolina, is a busy Mom and business owner with a passion for ending society's beauty standards. A program developed while her daughter, Phenyx was in Middle School, Fearless Runway Mentoring was designed to boost her daughter's self-confidence. Fearless Runway is a program for girls designed to promote self-love, self-respect, high self-esteem, healthy relationships with other women, individuality, confidence, anti-bullying, positive body image entrepreneurship, teamwork, and leadership! Kelli plans to achieve this through the love of fashion and everyone's favorite RUNWAY WALKING. During each session, we will not only teach the life fundamentals to mention above, but we will teach public speaking, proper etiquette, posture and balance, skin care, hair care, make-up application, and most of all, runway walking! Kelli has a following on both FB and IG along with a new website launching this month. Kelli relies heavily on the digital marketing world to spread her message and spread the love behind Fearless Runway. By sharing her story, Kelli has hundreds of followers and supporters on both FB and IG!
Fearless Runway is a program for girls designed to promote self-love.
Hello, my name is Phenyx Wylam. Fearless Runway came to be because, throughout my middle school years, I was bullied. My mom, Kelli Boone, saw how much it took a toll on me mentally and emotionally that she created this program. My transition into middle school was tough. My family and I had just moved, and it changed my school district, meaning I was not going to go to the same middle school that my elementary friends were going to. I know, a complete bummer. Only a handful of kids were going to the same middle school I was, and I was only friends with one. She and I did not know many people, so we stood together at the beginning of the school year. We had about three classes together; we always ate lunch together, walked together, and even met up by the buses at the end of the school day. That only lasted a little while, though. She was better at making friends than I was, more outspoken and outgoing. A social butterfly, some may say. I was the complete opposite; I was quiet and shy and didn’t really put myself out there to make friends unless I was approached first. As the school year continued, I experienced a huge change; my friend and I didn’t talk as much as we used to or do much of anything really. She made friends with many kids who were like her, and I couldn’t fit into that. She became besties with another girl, a girl I was familiar with. We rode the same bus, talked occasionally but nothing heavy. Soon after, my friend and I stopped talking, and everything is when the bullying started.
The Phenyx Wylam Story THE INSPIRATIONAL STORY BEHIND FEARLESS RUNWAY
You’re probably wondering what that story has to do with me getting bullied. Well, that “friend” of mine is the one that started bullying me, her, and the girl that rode my bus. I would come up to her to say hey and see how she was doing, and she would ignore me or answer as if she was annoyed with me. During class, I would see her and her friend point at me and laugh; they would make fun of how I looked, my skin color, my dreadlocks, anything they could think of. Those girls and I were of the same skin complexion, so I never understood why they would pick on me. Maybe because puberty didn’t hit me as fast? I didn’t have the latest shoes? Maybe because I looked different from all the other black girls? The bullying just got worse over time. It started to be other girls, and then the boys would join in. One person would make a joke, and the whole classroom would laugh. Embarrassed was an understatement. Remember when I said I was shy and quiet, well? Shy and quietly went to the ultra-extreme. I would never participate in class; if I needed help in class, I would not ask because I was too afraid. When it was time to line up for lunch, I would wait until everyone was in line so that I could be in the back of the line. I never participated in group projects; I always insisted on doing them by myself. Being bullied affected my grades in the majority of my classes.
"I wanted all of the bullying to stop." PHENYX WYLAM
I wanted all the bullying to stop. The teachers weren’t doing much, administration sucked, and going to my guidance counselor was doing the bare minimum. You may wonder, why didn’t you tell your mom? Because back then, I was already getting bullied enough to imagine if my mom came up to the school and told them to leave her daughter alone. Then I’d be known as a snitch or soft. I did not want any more embarrassment, so I just kept it to myself. I didn’t tell my mom anything; I’d come home tell her school was great, give her a made-up story and go about my day. I was alone on the inside. One day in English class, a boy asked me, “what are you?”. I didn’t know what that meant at the time, so I just shrugged my shoulders and ignored him. He proceeds and asks, “Are you African or Jamaican or something?”. I didn’t know how to answer because I’ve never been asked that before. It became a whole classroom discussion.
"I wanted all of the bullying to stop."
Everybody laughing and staring and making assumptions; I never cried so hard. That day, I decided to go to the bathroom P H E N Y X and write on the wall how much I hated the girl I thought was my friend and the girl who rode my bus. I was tired of being bullied, and it was all their fault because they’re the ones that started it. The school day ended, and I went home and told my mom that “some girl” wrote a threat on the girl's bathroom wall. I told her I didn’t do it and went about my day. The Next day I was pulled out of homeroom by my 6th-grade principal and taken to the office. There is where I met the school principal, guidance counselor, and the school deputy. From there, I knew I was in trouble. I tried to lie my way out of it and tell them I didn’t write it, but I was already caught.
WYLAM
They did a scan of my handwriting and had me on camera going to the bathroom. I confessed. I told them it was just a threat to make them stop bullying me; I wasn't actually going to do anything. I was suspended for 10 days and had to meet with the board of education to decide whether I would go back to school. That whole process was devastating. My mom was disappointed in me, but she couldn’t do anything but be sympathetic to me. She saw my cry out for help and did everything in her power to make sure I was okay and that something like this never happened again. I was later back into school with a different class schedule, and nobody said much to me. It was awkward, but I managed. That situation has changed me for the better. High school is when I broke out of the quiet and shy shell and started embracing who Phenyx Boone was. I started doing things that I liked and tried new things. I started singing more, getting a fashion sense, gaining more of a social group, joining after school clubs, etc. I also learned how to defend myself and others. I never let anyone talk down to me; I had no tolerance for it. I defended other kids that would get picked on as well. Today, I am married to my high school sweetheart, and I have two little boys, Prynce and Koda. They are the light of my life. And we’re living Fearlessly!! 5 WAYS TO UPDATE YOUR MARKETING PLAN BY: KRISTINA PECK
Let's face it...the way you marketed your business in 2019, is not the same way you had to market your business in 2020 or 2021. Not only have we continued to evolve as a society, but COVID-19 threw a curveball into most businesses market strategies. 1. The Digital World After being on lockdown for most of 2020, we avoided the outside world. We stopped picking up magazines, newspapers, the solicitors stopped but one thing kept going..the internet. Regardless of what's happening in the outside world, the internet was always there. If you haven't already, make the transition to the digital world NOW! This includes outlets such as: 1. Facebook- Create a Business Page & Learn how to run paid ads 2. Instagram- Learn about the trending hashtags in your industry to boost your posts 3. Linkedin- This platform is a "professionals" Facebook in a way. It's easy to use and a quick way to build connections. 4. TikTok- We spent most of 2020 on this app. Need I say more? 5. Twitter- Keep your brand messages short and sweet to build a following.
2. Be Open to Change We ALL had to make some pretty big changes last year- especially businesses. We had to completely change the way we ran our businesses in order to survive the COVID-19 Pandemic. As a business owner, you have to be open to drastic change and always be ready for change. Be open and willing to reaching out for support in areas you have identified as your weakness. 3. Say “no” to bad ideas. Although us marketers are creative and strategic folks, not every idea we have is brilliant. In fact, sometimes we have to come up with plenty of bad ideas before striking gold. That’s why you have to be honest about the quality of the ideas presented to you. If your marketing team pitches you an idea that doesn’t feel right, say so. Don’t agree to a bad idea because you feel you should.
5 WAYS TO UPDATE YOUR MARKETING PLAN BY: KRISTINA PECK
4. Find Opportunities to Repurpose Your Content
It's okay to re-post-I promise! Take those trending posts and re-post them this year! Take a popular blog post and turn it into a series of social media posts. Update old blog posts by improving the headlines and adding current statistics. Compile several of your most popular blog posts and turn them into an e-book.
5. Encourage More Word-of-Mouth Marketing One of the biggest marketing opportunities that many businesses overlook is their current customers’ friends and family. An estimated 77% of customers will try out a new product or service if a family member or friend recommends it. Look for opportunities to encourage your customers to share the message about your brand. Offer discounts and rewards anytime they refer your business to someone in their network.

These variations give us a diverse profile and offer any occasion flavors that I know anyone even a newbie to wine will love. What makes your wine selection unique compared to your competitor's wine? Our wine is unique because not only is it of great quality and has a unique taste but because mostly because of the story that is attached to it and what it represents. We believe we have created wine selections that can truly be enjoyed all over the world and our consumers will grow to become attached to the wine and the celebration within the wine. HOW TO REALIZE YOUR POTENTIAL
We all want to be successful, to realize our dreams and plans, and to be happy. But sometimes, we lack motivation, will, or courage. Also, even when we have goals in mind, we may not be able to act on them. So here are some keys to realizing your full potential. Finally, get rid of the obstacles that get in the way. Potential is what we can do, our abilities, and what we want to do, our desires. But all too often, we only exploit what we are capable of doing or what we are asked to do. All that we dream of doing, all that potential, remains untapped. But how do we change this? How do we break through the barriers that block us?
Take Action: One word to keep in mind: action. Without action, nothing happens. Of course, this requires effort. That is why many give up on this step. But when you step out of your comfort zone and take small actions, it gets easier. Also, these results are what encourage you to continue with energy towards your goal. When you get results and push your limits a little, you gain confidence and selfassurance. This is the second step to expressing your potential. Develop your intuition in order to move forward with confidence. To do so, take a step back and position yourself as an observer. Unwind the thread and think about the incredible chain of events, decisions, encounters, trials, and successes that have brought you this far and made you the person you are. Be aware of what the difficult moments have taught you, namely wisdom, experience, rising again, and identify what the good times have given you. The problem is that many people live through the eyes of others. Trusting yourself means putting your own judgment first and never be afraid to displease. Only listen to the critics that will help you move forward and ignore the others.
HOW TO REALIZE YOUR POTENTIAL LATRINA C. Write your action plan: The third step in committing to change is to get into the habit of writing down your action plan so that they are grounded in reality. By moving from the mental to the written word, you give substance to your thoughts: you are already in action. It may seem trivial, but it is actually essential! You can write down achievable goals, from the most modest to the most ambitious, and check off, day by day, those you achieve. Another idea: make a list of the actions you want to take the next day to get closer to your goals. It will send information to the subconscious mind, bringing you new solutions when you wake up. Finally, focus on achieving your goals. Make a list of all the little irritations of everyday life that consume your energy and distract your attention from the really important things. Deal with them, one by one. These are all actions you can take, which will turn into positive energy. In this way, you will feel a considerable weight has been lifted off your shoulders. And when you travel light, you travel faster. So, you can go further! So, are you ready to take action?
