Shenika Stone

NASHVILLE, TN

STEP AND STRUT

Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, by way of Memphis, I am Coach Shenika Stone, a woman of God, wife, mother, entrepreneuHER, and your Certified Life Coach. I’ve always had a passion for working with people, especially women. I enjoy working, serving, and helping others, so becoming a life coach was a no-brainer. I have a listening ear, and I can offer solutiondriven advice to help others through life’s transitions. It wasn’t until I was stressed, burnt out, and hurt by the corporate work world that I decided working for someone is not a part of my journey. I had to do some soul searching and ask God to reveal me to myself to overcome some personal obstacles so I could be full and pour into others in return. STEP and STRUT came from a place of diligence, obedience, and saying yes to God. I had to listen to what the holy spirit was telling me about my own life and the improvements I needed to make in order for God to see me through. Being a woman, wife, mom, or even a girlfriend, we often put ourselves to the side and take care of the needs of others. We’ll say, “Oh, I’ll finish that degree when the kids graduate. I’ll start that business after my husband finds his dream job.” What about our dreams, hopes, and aspirations? Then two, five, or ten years have gone by, and everyone is moving and grooving but us. STEP and STRUT was created to empower, uplift, and support those women who need their own personal cheerleader to help them take the first STEP to later STRUT. All it takes is one step, and that can change the trajectory of your life. I am here to help you set and achieve attainable goals and lead the life that God talks about in his word. So take this step with me so I can show you how to Strive, Thrive, Revitalize, Unleash and Trust the Process (STRUT).

What message do you hope women walk away with when they encounter Step and Strut? I want women to encounter power, support, and their true ability to STRUT. When you STRUT, you exude a different type of confidence. One in which you know you can conquer the world. I want them to know that they are not alone, and God has sent them a hand for help in me!

You are a woman of God, wife, mother, coach, and entrepreneur, among other things. How do you balance it all? The way I balance my hats is with prayer. Everything that I do, I always pray to God and ask him not to allow “this thing”(whatever that may be) to hurt or interfere with me being a wife mother woman of God, etc. I try not to give one thing too much attention, but I also try to include my family in what I’m doing.

Where do you hope to see your coaching business in the next 5 years? In the next 5 years, STRUT will be worldwide. I will have helped countless women reach their true potential and live the life God has promised us all. My annual women’s conference will be sold out for the 4th year in a row, and I will be preparing to speak at yet another event as a well-known, respected, millionaire Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, philanthropist, and community advocate.

What has been your biggest struggle with keeping God in the center of your work? My biggest struggle has been when God is silent. That could mean one of two things: Be still. It’s not the time or No daughter. I’m a creative, so once I have an idea, I’m ready to go full speed ahead, but I have to seek counsel from God on it. Sometimes He speaks loud and clear other times, he is dead quiet.

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles? In my eyes, a pretty woman who hustles is determined and knows what it takes to be successful. A woman that knows there is no dream that is too big for God. A woman that is able to preserver and overcomes any challenge. A woman committed to becoming better and reaching back to grab those who have the same desire.

How did you become such a passionate advocate for energy, health, and wellness? As I was on my journey, I was studying for my Esthetics license and was learning more about the chakras, and the information resonated with me. The more I learned and applied and saw actual growth within myself, the more I felt like it could definitely help others. That's where it all started. What motivates you every day to get up and assist others in becoming the healthiest versions of themselves? The fact that I know what it feels like to be on this side of healing...being at peace and being happier. I just want to be a guide for others who need the same thing. Or even know that this exists...that there is an "other side" of healing. What services does Artisan of Artistics Natural Bodycare offer? I offer a variety of Energy Health and Wellness services. Sessions are very informal, and most like talking to a really good friend.

You are pulled in so many different directions. How do you stay balanced? I do exactly what I want. If I feel like working, I work. If I feel like resting, I rest. I listen to what I need and do it. This keeps me multidimensionally healthy mentally, emotionally, spiritually, energetically, and physically. I rarely go against myself. What message do you hope women walk away with when encountering your company? I hope they walk away knowing that they have to be worth it to themselves. They can't expect anything from anybody that they can't fulfill themselves. Where do you hope to see your company in the next five years? I absolutely love where I am currently. I will be doing exactly what I'm doing now but touching more individuals.

Saye Carrie was born in Far Rockaway, Queens, NY, of Liberian parentage. She holds a master’s in Social Sciences. Saye is an author and speaker. Her two books are Hidden Commonalities: Identifying Cultural Similarities among Africans and African Descendants and Unraveling the Story of Black/African Hair. Saye’s focus is on diversity, social justice, advocacy, African and African diaspora studies, and Black/African natural hair. Saye likes music, cooking, and reading books. She is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

What made you decide to become an author? In the second grade, my classmates and I each wrote a story and created it into a play. We had days in the class to read our story while it was being acted out. My passion for writing started from then on. Nineteen years later, in the age of social media where you can make a Facebook status or an Instagram post, I would make posts about different subject matters. I would post about African and African diasporan history and culture. I often discussed ways to bridge the gap between Africans and African descendants. While doing so, I decided to turn my posts or blogs into a book. This is how I became an author. Your two books, Hidden Commonalities: Identifying Cultural Similarities among Africans and African Descendants and Unraveling the Story of Black/African Hair, are available now. Give our readers a glimpse into each of them and also where they can be found. The first book that I published, Hidden Commonalities: Identifying Cultural Similarities among Africans and African Descendants, explains how Africans and African descendants are united by skin color, heritage, and the history of oppression.

Unfortunately, we do not always see ourselves as the same despite our common ancestry. Conflicts have emerged among us because of different historical experiences, environments, colonialism, slavery, and the media. This book helps bridge the gap between Africans and African descendants by revealing our hidden commonalities regarding our shared history and culture. In my second, I bring Black/African hair to the forefront. Hair has played a major role in the lives of Black women and girls. Our “Crown and Glory” has direct links back to our African foremothers. I capture the hair stories of several women along with my own. The book explores the natural hair movement of this present time and its flaws. I also reveal how Black hair impacted the African diaspora. This book encourages all to embrace what God has blessed them with, no matter what style of hair they choose. These books can be found at www.sayecarrie.com and major booksellers such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble. How has living in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and North Carolina given you insight into diversity? Due to living in all three of those states, I experienced life in the North and Southeast. Furthermore, I became adapted to metropolitan/suburban and mountain/rural living. While living in Queens, NY, and Elizabeth, NJ, I saw a melting pot of different backgrounds of people. This made me culturally competent. In the NY tri-state area, being Black is not a monolith. The cultural backgrounds within the Black race are also recognized. Living in the Pocono Mountains made me appreciate nature and the slower pace instead of the city’s hustle and bustle. Although Charlotte is a smaller major city, you will find diverse backgrounds along with southern aesthetics.

What is your definition of diversity? How is diversity represented from your perspective? My definition of diversity are people of varieties of backgrounds coinciding. From my perspective, everyone can have different opinions; however, we all can stand together when it comes to what is right or wrong. Your hobbies include enjoying music, cooking, reading books, and traveling. How do these hobbies play into diversity? The hobbies that are dear to me reflect diversity because I am learning about different cultures and becoming aware of things that are outside my soapbox. Finally, if you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and why? At this point in my life, the one thing that I would change in this world would be to bridge the gap between African and African diasporan people. By doing so, it will create solidarity, cooperative economics, and accountability among Black people worldwide. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram at Saye Carrie.

LaCole Suddeth-Odums is known best as Akron, Ohio’s “Queen of Breakfast.” LaCole is a single mother of 3 amazing young men. Over the past few years, LaCole has gone from delivering 20 orders in her car to opening a kitchen with the help of her close friends. After losing several important people in her life, LaCole was inspired to chase her dreams. Once she matched with her new business partner, Tommy, she was able to have two restaurants in one -- Breakfast in Bed and Smack Yo Mamma Wings and Things.

Who is LaCole Suddeth-Odums? I’m 41 years old with three amazing young kings. I went all through school with a learning disability. I was told I wouldn’t go any further than high school. I graduated a year earlier. I skipped the 11th grade, which was great. However, I still wasn’t too confident in myself, so I became a Home Health Aide. I realized that I wasn’t making too much money, so at 19, I went to culinary school. Still, after two months, I had that teacher’s voice in the back of my mind saying I wasn’t going to make it, so I quit school, went home, and became a nursing assistant who took care of people for over 20 years. Then, while I was married, I felt like this couldn’t be it for me, sitting at home with kids while my husband went to work. Hence, I prayed, and that’s when I decided to cook some breakfast, post it on Facebook and see what happens. Your biography talks about being divorced after 17 years of marriage and how it was life-changing. Explain to our readers what you mean by “life-changing” beyond the common definition.

I had finally discovered who I was -- a loving, caring, and nurturing woman who deserved everything that I wasn’t getting from my husband. I found peace and patience. I started working out more and realized how much peace it was giving me. I started taking myself out on dates. I started to attract positive things. I realized how toxic my marriage was; I wanted nothing but positive vibes around me. How did cooking breakfast launch you into your destiny? When people started buying my food and telling me how much they really loved my food, I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t believe it. You had an earthly guardian angel in homecare. That delivery changed your life. Tell us more about the moment you heard and obeyed God’s voice. It was God speaking through my client, telling me to follow my heart and pray through everything. My mother, who is a pastor, also kept me in prayer. I had a great support team. I had everyone in my corner. My cousin gave me my first big catering event, which was 200 people. After that, my confidence in myself finally came to light.

Two restaurants in one is amazing! You, along with your partner, Tommy, have combined the love of food! Breakfast in Bed and Smack Yo Mama Wings and Things! How has that partnership changed your life? People knew about me, but they really started to find out about me because I was in a restaurant. It seemed like they started to take me more seriously. Once we were in the newspaper and featured on Fox 8 news, business really took off then. The grand opening was scheduled for Father’s Day, June 20. Why is that day significant? I picked that day because we always do something nice for mothers, and I thought it would be great to do something for the fathers. Lastly, where can readers patronize this divine partnership? We are located at 115 E. Market Street, Downtown Akron, OH 44308. You can also reach us on all delivery platforms.

Meet Mikiko Canady. She is a Financial Advisor and Life Coach. Mikiko started her own journey towards financial freedom in 2019 when she lost everything after being in a horrific car accident, in which she sustained a life-changing injury. After losing everything, she was still determined to achieve her goals. In March of 2020, she was laid off from her job with UPS; However, she did not allow the layoff to stop her. With her last paycheck from UPS, she invested in a debt-free financial business opportunity. This business has opened so many doors and opportunities for her. Mikiko dived right in and gave this business all she had. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she pushed to the top as a top earner in her business and gained the nickname “Boss Lady” from her colleagues and fellow business partners. Not only is she a successful business owner but also a loving mother to five beautiful children. She believes in putting God first, and she’s an advocate for single mothers and battered women. How does she do it?! She keeps a positive mindset, creates partnerships with purpose, and continuously striving for significant outcomes. Mikiko has a heart of gold and is always open to lending a helping hand to those in need. Although she has accomplished so much in such little time, Mikiko believes that this is ONLY THE BEGINNING!!!! What inspired your start as a financial advisor and Life Coach? After attempting for years to get ahead financially only to find myself continuously living paycheck to paycheck and realizing that no matter how hard I worked on a job, I will still come out in the negative financially. I had to do something to get a positive result. So I started my own business.

How do you balance the day-to-day demand of running two very different businesses? Most days, I work from sun up to sundown, but the awesome part about being a business owner is you can take time off whenever you want. I do so when I have to run errands or spend time with family. It’s like being in a relationship with no strings attached. What advice do you have for a new business owner that will set them on the right track for financial success? Stay focused. Remember why you started in the first place. Stay consistent. Consistency is the key to your clients being able to take you seriously. Stay positive because negative energy drains you physically and mentally. Keeping a clear mind and surrounding yourself with positive people will bring prosperity and blessings to you. No matter what, never give up!! What message do you hope women take away from your life coaching program?

Anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Don’t cheat yourself but rather set a standard for what you want and allow that to be your default. No matter what happens to you or with you, you will always be able to get up and keep moving forward. I want all women to know they are strong and they rule their world. How can someone enroll in your program today? Potential clients can reach me through Facebook and through email: blk3783@hotmail.com To set up an initial consultation, I can be reached @ calendly.com/bossladyk-/30min6. Where do you hope to see your brand in the next few years? I will see Boss Lady K on billboards all across the Atlanta Metro Area and working to expand my brand across the country television and social media outlets. In the next five years, I can see me and my family being completely debt-free and mentally healthy and stable, as well as clients that trust my guidance.

Dominique Thompson is an entrepreneur and leader using her expertise to propel companies to their highest successes. As the CEO and founder of Intrepid HR Pro, she recruits and consults for large corporations and small businesses. She was awarded the Gold Award for Top Sales Agent, nominated for President’s Club, and received numerous accolades as a business owner. She embarks on seemingly impossible missions, cultivating positive working relationships between entity leaders and subordinates to foster a thriving workplace environment and production efficiency. What inspired your start in HR and Consulting? I had always wanted to own my own business. I was currently operating a paint contracting company with my husband at the time, and after much success with it, I longed to have my own. Funny thing, my husband was not too happy about it because of the business we had. Fortunately, I left him and started my business, but it would be a few years later before I would take the big leap and do it, and I’m glad I did. That’s why I named my business Intrepid. It means fearless. Why entrepreneurship versus a 9 to 5? Working 9-5 is not a bad thing. It helped me fund my HR firm. I would choose it every time because it can provide the life you want, and there is no limit to what income you can make and the freedom it will provide, and the wealth needed for your family. I grew up with both of my parents being entrepreneurs. To this day, my dad owns a construction company. I witnessed their drive, sacrifices, and love for making money.

They wanted the freedom to have the life they wanted. I could tell this was something they had wanted for a long time, but family and life’s responsibilities got in the way. They made a way and were determined, and I am so happy that I saw their example. They were strong and never backed down, but I also saw when business was not so good and how they persevered through. I love them for what they provide to and for me. So, when I left Corporate America, they both were supportive and helped me navigate the entrepreneurial world and how I could be successful. I owe them my success. What is unique about Intrepid HR Consulting? What makes us unique is that my entire life, I was raised around entrepreneurs. Small business is my life, and when you add my almost 20 years in CA, you are getting the best of both worlds when you work with us. We absolutely love what we do, and it shines through. We are your HR Business partner every step of the way. No other consulting firm can compare to the service and love of your business that we provide.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far in your career? One big challenge in my Corp career is that I was always only 1 of 2 black people at my level of supporting C-Suite executives. I was a lot trying to have more people who look like me where I was. In my business, I can create the work environment how I want and need. My workforce looks like me. I can employ people of color and women, and I am so excited that I have the power to do so. Where do you hope to see your company in the next few years? In the next few years, my hope is that my daughter is running the business. What advice do you have for new entrepreneurs? Don’t allow other people’s fear to become your own. Just because they cannot do it does not mean you cannot. Dream it, faith it, and then go get it. Don’t stop until you get it!! www.intrepidhrpro.com

offered

a

soul-stirring

performance of the song at Marquis Boone’s 2015 Discovered conference that landed her a demo recording deal. Since then, and with much dedication to her craft and devotion to God, Jokia’s ministry continues to gain visibility, amazing opportunities, and platforms to minister through music, and the greatest gift of all: lives changed. There is more than music to Jokia. She is also a proud wife (to Benjamin Williams) and a mother of 2 amazing daughters (Felicia & Jasmine Williams).

Patrice: Music is the creation of art, and the fact that many artists are expanding and making music, really gives us music lovers something new to listen to! How did the start of your music career begin as a gospel artist? Jokia: “I can recall the seed being planted when I was in the Army after I gave my life to Christ. An evangelist told me that I should use my gift to sing for the Lord. I eventually started writing songs while in the Army just for the love of God. Years later, at a church, multiple visiting speakers spoke openly that God requested that I step out in faith and see professionally. In 2015, I trusted God in that journey and walked in obedience.” Patrice: How does gospel music speak to your soul? Jokia: “Gospel music speaks to my soul by stirring up my passion and reminding me of who I am serving and why.” Patrice: Let’s talk about your single “Yahweh,” which charted different categories on the Billboards. What was the inspiration behind that song? Jokia: “After I began my journey in 2015, I had expectations of what my career should have went like. When those expectations and dreams did not happen in the way I had planned, I became frustrated, heartbroken, and I wanted to give up. I even started to believe that I was being rejected. I believe the Lord allowed my heart to come to this place so that way I can hear exactly what he wanted from me. He wanted to be first, and not my dreams come first. I had to repent, heal, and get delivered. That’s where the lyrics for Yahweh came.” Patrice: With many up-and-coming gospel and Christian artists out here making music, how do you feel your music is different from those we hear on the radio or streaming services? Jokia: “I believe the uniqueness in my music is my encounter and experience are different from others. All artists have a portion that GOD has assigned, and I believe my portion comes through the music.” Patrice: I noticed you play the guitar as well, and I find that very impressive! Do you know how to play any other instruments, or is the guitar something you chose to play? Jokia: “I wish I could play other instruments. I play a mean air drum . But the guitar is it. It’s also my choice of instrument. If I had more patience, I would love to learn piano.”

Patrice: The music industry is always changing. For the Gospel genre, do you feel that gospel artists aren’t getting enough recognition as they should? What are your takes on that? Jokia: “I definitely do not believe that the gospel genre and gospel artists get enough recognition like they should. The unfortunate issue is that mainstream artists sometimes do gospel music to bring attention; however, gospel artists do not receive the same response as mainstream artists. In other words, a mainstream artist can do a gospel song, and the response is high, but when a gospel artist does the same thing, the recognition is very minimal or unnoticed. Patrice: What is your definition of a pretty woman who hustles? Jokia: “A driven woman. A motivated woman. A determined woman. A resilient woman.” Patrice: Let’s talk about your new single, “Let Him In.”’ You can now pre-order the new single. Is this something for a new album? Jokia: “As of right now, it’s just a single. I have played around with the idea of an EP. However, I feel as though right people are still getting a chance to know me. I don’t want to push an album at this time without people knowing me. I think it’s important to build a rapport musically with people.” Patrice: What is the inspiration behind the new single? Jokia: “In Psalms 147:3 there’s a scripture that says, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. I can identify with looking like I’m healed but God wanting to go deeper and heal the things I suppressed.”

Patrice: Looking at your Instagram feed, I saw your clothing page, God Sent BW. Is that your business as well? Jokia: “Yes!! I love it. My husband Ben and I are the owners. As much as I love fashion, I love the message. It’s for us to just be reminded that If GOD sent us, fear nothing or no one. The business is a family affair. The two young beautiful ladies on the site with us are our daughters.” Patrice: If you could collaborate with another gospel artist, who would it be and why? Jokia: “Tye Tribett because he’s radical. He’s never changed that. Israel Houghton because he’s multicultural. Cece because she’s sweet. She never over sings. Kirk Franklin because he’s an amazing writer. “ Patrice: Favorite gospel song? Jokia: “Yahweh.” Patrice: When can we expect your new album to come out? Jokia: “A new album would be great, but when God gives that release. I definitely want to be in alignment with Him. So as of right now, I am unaware. But definitely lookout for the new single Let Him In.” Connect with Jokia Instagram: @jokiamusic Facebook: @jokiamusic Website: iamjokia.com and Godsentbw.com YouTube: @jokiamusic Twitter: @jokiamusic

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Massivepreneur

Written by: Jakia Cheatham - Myles

Teshara Arthur is a praying wife, mother and holds a master’s degree in entrepreneurship. She describes herself as a failed entrepreneur turned massivepreneur. Teshara knew she was an entrepreneur since the age of 21. She has managed and built businesses from scratch to massive. Utilizing her executive experience in audits, staff training, and bookkeeping, she teaches CEOs to be audit and funding-ready! Teshara created the Massivepreneur Academy to provide quality business courses, CEO Coaching, and a six-week mentorship program using her education, experience, and much time in prayer.

Miami, Florida

CEO:

Teshara Arthur Market Research Consultant

At what moment did you realize you were meant to be an entrepreneur? I realized I was meant to be an entrepreneur when I started working with my father at the age of 21. I was running the administrative side of his company. Making lots of mistakes, but I loved learning from those mistakes! I was happy being the first one there with him in the mornings to go over the day’s plans and the last one leaving the office with him in the evenings discussing tomorrow’s agenda. We had lots of talks about black Wall Street, the richness of entrepreneurship, and our heritage of wealth. What does it mean to be a massivepreneur? To be a Massivepreneur, you have to be able to deal with lots of pressure and balance them well. Aside from being an entrepreneur, you are balancing your personal life and spiritual life. As a mother, wife, founder, business coach, and go-to person, I’ve realized that these massive responsibilities could only be managed through a solid relationship and foundation with God. Massivepreneurs understand their massive responsibilities outside of entrepreneurship, and they lean to God to keep it all together. This is why I refer to scripture a lot in my teachings. The word of God keeps me grounded.

What have you learned thus far in business? I proudly refer to myself as a failed entrepreneur turned massivepreneur. I’ve had the experience of lawsuits on both sides as a staff me ever and as a CEO! I have been in court mediation both as a CEO and Staff member. I have experienced federal audits of corporate business accounts, profit and loss sheets, and company records. My interviews with corporate bankruptcy attorneys and auditors gave me the skillset to become an auditor myself. My master’s degree in Entrepreneurship taught me the foundation and principles of entrepreneurship, but it was my experience that taught me to be a massivepreneur.

My company slogan is “ #iTrainCEOs to grow in Capital and Compliance because that’s what I have walked through, failed through, and now flourished through. I have been cloaked with the mantle of Entrepreneurship. I believe God allowed me to go through so much failure to be able to help entrepreneurs be massive. Why should CEOs enroll in the Massivepreneur Academy? Written by: Jakia Cheatham - Myles

Morgan Banks Morgan Banks is a stunning, smart, and witty girl from Baltimore, Maryland. Founder and CEO of Capri Couture Creations, a creative and prophetic writing space online. A niche for writing evolved into an online blog created to encourage, inspire, and motivate young believers in Christ both mentally and spiritually through life. She’s a mother to a little boy named Omari Easley, singer, songwriter, and mentor. Exceeding five years in youth ministry leadership, Morgan was one of two students to start an after-school Bible study program in her county in 2014, sponsored by Bethel Campus Fellowship. Through her own experience of disappointments and personal struggles, she also founded the “Graced For It” podcast based on 2 Corinthians 12:9. She believes we weren’t just made for the things we do and produce, but in fact, we are Graced for it. She aspires to author many books, build her brand, and infiltrate the school systems with mentoring programs for all ages. Morgan produced her first prayer journal entitled “Make Prayer Work” to document God’s work in your everyday life in 2020. Her second book will be released in June 2021. Morgan is the founder of “Outpour Worship,” which is a prophetic singing group composed of worshippers from all over Maryland. Morgan is a current member of The Rehab Centre under the guidance of Pastor Jae S. Green. Morgan was first saved and began her journey with the Lord at Rehoboth Light of the World Church with Pastor Benjamin Long. Morgan desires most of all to speak, write, sing, and mentor until she’s reached everyone she’s been designed to touch. Her life story is jaw-dropping and heartwarming because it all leads to God’s never-ending love, which she most cares to express to others daily.

Capri Couture Creations is an online platform geared towards prophetic writing. What is prophetic writing? Prophetic Writing is simply writing what God is saying. The same way we have prophets who verbally speak that which God has said through prayer, fasting, and seeking in him.

We can also do it through writing, just as David did in psalms. We believe in encouraging the body of Christ to return to writing the changes, moments, and directions God is showing to his people. Ezra was a scribe during biblical times. He documented all the moments of Moses’ establishment of the law. This is the prophetic writing call that we believe will continue to grow. We seek to show, train, and equip more believers to accept and walk out this call.

s on ti a re C re tu ou C ri p a C How did you come up with this concept? Honestly, the Lord showed me I’d be doing this when I was in prayer one night. I was asking for directions about what to do with the brand. During the prayer, I began to write scriptures and words I heard him giving to me. And suddenly I heard, “This is your brand, writing about me and what “I am” is saying,” so I obeyed and officially announced about two months after that we were a prophetic blog. How is prophetic writing beneficial? Well, just as the prophetic ministry is to equip, encourage, and edify, it’s the same for writing. Everyone won’t listen to a preached word. But, they will read an article. It’s beneficial because it’s God expanding His reach to his people. You’re a Youth Ministry leader as well. What do you feel is one of the main things young people should know about God’s Word? Yes. I believe young people should know that God’s Word is not complicated to read. It’s not for older folks. It’s for you too. It’s not too early or too late to learn how to read the Word and share the Word through your testimony. As a mother, singer, songwriter, and mentor on top of running a business, your schedule must be crazy busy. What do you do to unwind and get some time to yourself? Honestly, I am still learning this. I’m learning to listen to my body and not say yes to every opportunity. The best advice I can give is pray over every single opportunity that comes your way. The time I get to myself is usually the weekend and Sunday. Also, my 6 am mornings are reserved to be filled by God. The “Graced For It” podcast is another endeavor that you have on your plate. What is the podcast about? When does it air, and what platforms? Graced for It was launched last year. We now run the show every summer. It’s a show to talk about how we are not only ‘made for the things we do, create, or make but what we are indeed Graced for it ‘ We seek to encourage others to remember with our theme scripture being 2 Corinthians 12:9 that God’s grace is sufficient for us.

Congratulations on your “Make Prayer Work” journal released in 2020! What is the significance of this journal? This journal was created to help those who have a hard time praying physical prayers. So we created a few categories that are for specific topics. These sections have guided ways to pray to help people see the journey the Lord has brought them on. It’s a way to document God’s work in your life.

Finally, let our readers know what Outpour Worship is all about? Whew, Outpour is my baby! Outpour is a prophetic singing group. We are composed of 6 members currently. We simply yield ourselves to the Lord. We sing what we hear in the spirit. We gather in different cities and at different times to encounter God now. We will be doing a tour this summer, popping up in different cities for revival. We are excited to see how God moves.

PWH ENTRPRENUER SPOTLIGHT My name is Sabrina Lee, an entrepreneur, trainer, and business advisor. I founded my brand, Herway Beauty, where I run various businesses, including Herway Beauty and Salon, Herway Spa, Herway Suites, and Herway Training Institute. I have a passion for business and obtain 3 degrees. Over the years, I have helped over 2000 women jumpstart their financial freedom teaching them how to build, market, and scale their own spa businesses. Besides having a wide range of spa services that I teach, I also make sure that my students blend their passion for giving outstanding service with easy-touse strategies and systems that will increase their productivity, client retention, client satisfaction and help them improve their overall revenues plus organize projects and marketing into actionable plans. I recently started a VIP At Your Pace Mentorship Program where busy entrepreneur moms can learn my strategies when it comes to marketing, social media, business credit, hiring, and basically how to set up your business whenever it's convenient for them because as a full-time mompreneur, I know that how hectic life can be for us. It's a monthly subscription that gives my members access to a learning dashboard for the whole year and a private Facebook group where we can help and collaborate with each other. I also still teach body contouring services, and I have a group with over 4200 women who aspire to succeed in our industry. In the group, we help each other out by providing feedback, suggestions, and networking. Empowering other female entrepreneurs to build and grow their own empire and helping them develop the vital skills-set to harness their potential makes me so proud and drives everything I do.

Describe your company "HerWay Beauty" in four words. Education, Elevation, Growth, and Empowerment. At what point did you realize you held a passion for business and helping women entrepreneurs? Business is my first love, and I have always been a business-minded person. I started my business on my own, with no help from anybody, and just learn via researching and applying trial and error; hence I've had many ups and downs.

That experience made me realize how hard it is to start from the ground up, and I don't want women who are just starting to think that it's impossible to reach their dreams - because it might feel that way at some point. I want everyone to grow, have financial freedom, and live the life they deserve. I want fellow moms to stop generational curses and have the security that their kids won't have to struggle to get through life.

Her Way Beauty Over the last few years, you have helped over 2,000 women jumpstart their businesses. What was that experience like for you? It's such an empowering feeling to see my students experience success in their businesses. I'm not only happy because their investment in their training and generally themselves has paid off, but I am in awe of what we can do. Individually, a woman has power; collectively, we have an impact. Body Contouring was not a very popular industry before, but because of what we do as body contouring specialists -from our services, products, marketing, providing great results - has changed so many of our client's lives and has helped many people achieve body positivity and confidence they didn't have before. And for me, to touch many people's lives is a great legacy. What is an average Training day like at HerWay Beauty Institute? Herway Beauty has many training platforms. We have eBooks and At Your Pace classes that are perfect for busy moms who want to learn at their own time. We also have full hands-on body contouring classes available online and in person. My training starts with the basics then goes to the actual process of contouring bodies, and they last for 4-6 hours. I give my students all the information they'll need, make them confident with their knowledge of their craft, teach them my techniques by watching them apply them to their models and give feedback right after. They leave my training center (or my zoom class) fully equipped and ready to start sculpting the perfect bodies! What has been your biggest lesson thus far? I have learned that a woman on a mission is unstoppable, and excuses won't get you anywhere. Negativity has no place in my life anymore, and I have cut off many people who disturbed my peace, and I have experienced more success ever since. Now, I do what feels right for me and my goals without guilt. What can women expect when connecting with HerWay Beauty Brand? First off, please join my group if you are an inspiring Body Contouring Specialist/Spa Owner. We have about 4.5k cousins (that's what we call each other in the group) there, and you will find a lot of helpful information from me and the other members of the group! We celebrate each other's success, give suggestions and feedback, and network with others without judgment. Empowered women empower women, so be a part of our group and get ready to get the support you need as you start your new journey!

Keep watering your seed (business) and know that one day it will breakthrough for the world to see. Have the end in mind when you start a business. Are you building a business to leave a legacy for your family or building a business that you will like to sell in the future. PWH ENTRPRENUER SPOTLIGHT Gale Ray is the mother of 3 with a heart for entrepreneurship and change. After moving from Ft. Lee Virginia, Gale went to school for phlebotomy which sparked her passion for health. Gale is no stranger to hard work and over the years dedicated her life to working in mental health, management, and even fostering youth. After losing her mother in 2011 to thyroid disease and battling health conditions of her own, Gale realized that despite all the loss she endured during this period in her life that its important to go back to what you know and she began teaching phlebotomy at a private school while working full time at a local post office. Falling in love with teaching Gale opened her mobile phlebotomy service in 2015 and became certified in peer support training that assists with providing support to individuals that may have mental health issues or drug addictions. Over the years the company has grown to add on contracts with local and national companies to better serve our community. Gale has been able to help her son accomplish his goals and hopes to continue growing her business and one day open a medical school to offer CAN, Phlebotomy, Med Tech certifications. With the support of her family, she knows she will achieve all her goals.

What inspired you to move into the medical field? Why Phlebotomy? I got married and moved to Ft. Lee, Va. There they had a program for spouses to take a trade at the expense of the military. Since I had 4 kids and a husband the phlebotomy course was the shortest class time-wise on the list so I chose phlebotomy. After phlebotomy, I took an instructor class to teach CPR/1st Aid. It allowed me to have a career and take care of my family without being exhausted and I enjoyed working in the hospital. Mobile Phlebotomy is a unique concept. How did you come up with it? Why is it important to the community? I worked with a company where we did exams for life insurance, these exams were completed at the person's house office where ever they chose. After that job ended I decided to continue offering specimen collections at the convenience of the patient especially when some were unable to get to the hospital or a facility to get the test completed. It's important because we have people with conditions that will not allow them to be mobile and have to be tested regularly due to their conditions. What factors do you attribute to your success? My strong determination and my willingness to always help others.

Tell our readers what it takes to make dreams come true after going through many trials to get there? Consistency, Determination, Hard work, and staying focused on your goals, with prayer will make your dreams. It's not easy but it's coming. What's one word that comes to mind to describe how you made it through? Why did you choose that word? God, I made it through because he had me. He carried me he listened he assisted and he showed me that I can do anything I set my mind to do. Lastly, when you're not grinding what do you do to wind down? I love the beach can't swim nor float but I love the beach. Sit on my balcony and sip my coffee or wine and watch the waves so relaxing.
