Fenelon Falls’ waterfront offers something for everyone
There are cultural experiences, natural beauty, an inviting shopping district, dining, a sandy beach, and a unique ecological history. It is a great destination for families.
Oak Street Heritage District is centred on the former Maryboro estate that has historical links to the founding of Fenelon Falls and to the creation of the Trent-Severn Waterway. The area is a planned subdivision of the former
concentration of late 19th and early 20th century residential buildings, many of which are worthy of individual designation.
As Fenelon’s Community Cultural Centre, the Maryboro Lodge: The Fenelon Museum brings history to life through interactive activities. The Allen Wood Play Space features the great variety of toys manufactured in Fenelon Falls.
Daily in July and August, Maryboro Lodge offers a new feature hands-on activity, one-room school program, and a casual social on the veranda overlooking Cameron Lake. In Summer, enjoy afternoon tea on Wednesdays and free family fun events every weekend. Admission is by donation. Visit their website, maryboro.ca for more information.
Garnet Graham Park offers a sandy beach, picnic areas, new splash pad, beach volleyball, and a large playground.
Fenelon Falls is the central stop on the Victoria Rail Trail, a 100km recreational corridor. The Kawarthas’ premiere destination for all kinds of outdoor activities: you can walk, run, cycle, ATV, or even ride a horse. Their trail system joins Heart of Ontario to the south and west, Haliburton Snowmobile Association to the north and Twin Mountains to the East.

DINING
There’s a reason why so many talented chefs have come to our area.
These chefs get to work with delicious local ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes.
When you want a night off from cooking, our restaurants offer a great balance of down-home cooking using local ingredients and friendly atmosphere and staff. Whether you’re searching for some fine-dining overlooking the lake, an informal night with family and friends, a pub environment with great local craft beers or take-out for a picnic, Fenelon Falls and area can serve it up with the best of them.
If you’d rather cook, we also have an
abundance of local markets, bakeries and grocery stores where you can certainly find what you need. Our local grocery stores offer a wide range of products just like you’d find at home.
And speaking of local markets, what would our area be without our farmers? The farm-to-table movement has brought many people to our area just to source out fresh produce, cheese and meats. In the Fenelon Falls area, local, fresh food is in our roots. With a number of farmers’ markets, you can easily find a bounty of locally grown fruits, vegetables and meat, as well as crafts, baked goods, preserves and much more.
It’s not only about the freshness of the products, but it’s the chance to meet the growers, farmers, artisans and bakers who work hard to bring their goods to your shopping basket.
Enjoy a picnic in the park, watching the boats go by at the Lock, or on a bench at the beach. You can get delicious meals “to go” from many local restaurants.
