Step Into The Drivers Seat

It's never too late to step into the driver’s seat of your life!

We are all where we are in life as a consequence of our choices, but, more often than not, these choices weren’t really ours.

That is what happened to me too for most of my life. I was being pushed from one opportunity into another, but although they were seemingly great, they always left me with a feeling of “this is not me”. I continuously had that nagging feeling that there must be more to life. I wanted a purpose and to make a dierence in the world and had no idea how to get started.

That is until life stood in the way. I was 57 and in a toxic relationship. I became increasingly conscious that this was destroying me.

I think that this is the rst time that I made a real conscious choice.

Despite knowing that I would lose absolutely everything in the process, I decided to leave him. And yes, losing everything I did. I had to move in with one of my sisters and her family for one year. But the personal development journey I had been on for over ten years made me realise that I could do one of two things. Either step into victimhood and probably continue repeating the same mistakes or see this as a fantastic opportunity to reconsider all my choices in life and business. I chose to do the latter

Despite being on an emotional rollercoaster, that decision turned out to be totally transformational. Today, I’m grateful for that toxic relationship because I wouldn’t be who I am today without it.

Two major decisions came out of it. Firstly, I no longer wanted to work as an Executive Coach (which I had been doing very successfully for over 8 years), but instead, help women become emotionally and nancially free. Secondly, I decided to move to the UK. That is how I arrived in London at 58, with just two suitcases, no income nor savings but with the rm intention to rise from my ashes. The years that followed have been very tough, and I’ve been waking up more than once in the middle of the night with a panic attack, wondering how I would make it to the next day. What held me together was that I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to achieve, knew how to handle fear as a fuel and had an unwavering faith that the Universe would have my back. Today, I’m running two successful businesses, and the rest is history, as they say!

My Best Tips

I’m often asked what my best tips are for anyone wanting to reinvent themselves. Hare they are:

Take stock of what works and what doesn’t in your life Know what you want instead Make conscious choices that are aligned with your vision Know how to handle fear as a fuel instead of letting it paralyse you Stay intentional and focused Don’t beat yourself when you go o track (hint: you will!), instead ask yourself how to get back on track again.
