Hey Gadget fans, How is it already September? I only just got my head around the fact that its summer and now we are heading into autumn. It’s all good though, I love this time of year, as the landscape changes from green to auburn I am reminded of the possibility of change, new beginnings and refocussing on what matters. We have been playing with some seriously quality pieces this month including products from Katusha, DeWalt, Cardo and Humanscale. There is plenty to ensure you keep active as the weather changes with quality golf bags, an exercise storage vest and cycle rain jackets, we have a cheeky guitar pedal for indoor activities as well as a TV streaming system, some top items of clothing and beauty products to get you looking your best. Not forgetting the little ones there are some products in these pages for them. Lastly, I want to give a special shout out to the smart digital photo frame from Nixplay that let you share photos and videos with the loved ones that we might not be able to meet up with right now. Don’t forget to check out our Instagram and Twitter accounts for another give away competition this month, you are not going to want to miss out on this one. Have a great September! Pros Bespoke fit Comfortable Premium construction Timeless style Built to last
Spoke Heroes Hands up if you hate clothes shopping. We all come in different shapes and sizes but for some reason the high street assumes if your legs are a certain length your waist will also be a certain size, making trouser shopping fit somewhere between the 7th and 8th circle of hell. Spoke agreed that menswear simply wasn’t up to the task and from 2014 they started to produce clothes that were made to fit…properly. These bespoke trousers have a timeless and classic look in a range of cuts and colours to suit any occasion as well as being constructed from premium materials to ensure they are built to last. Spoke have found a good balance between tailor made and affordable by cutting their clothes in to more sizes and when it comes to finishing up the order, they ensure the final fit is perfect to your size. To ensure the finished product is high quality they work on a few garments at a time focusing on the small details including the fabric, lining and fastenings when everything is complete, they get delivered to your home, free of charge with the option of returning them if you aren’t completely satisfied. There are seven styles of trousers to choose from as well as polo shirts, shorts and swimwear. We received the Heroes in Navy, these are Spoke’s bestselling chinos made from 99% 7oz drill cotton and blended with elastane for that little bit of stretch for a comfortable fit. These chinos are beautifully made, their classic look can be dressed up or dressed down making them highly versatile, most importantly they are comfortable, they fit better than anything you will find on the high street and you don’t even have to leave the house to get them.
Spoke have found the perfect balance of tailor fitted and affordable trousers.

Anyone who has ever attempted this knows reflection on the carrier. It is easy to get the child on and that after a period of time it becomes very uncomfortable, off with a bit of practice and the shoulder straps and ankle this is what sparked the idea of creating a carrier that straps keep them safe even if they doze off. It is obvious allowed children to happily and securely ride on shoulders that Hongming is a keep hiker due to the careful attention without causing soreness. to details include the spacious backpack (fully detachable First impressions were how compact this carrier is, it folds for trips without the kids), it is hydration pack compatible down nicely with the child’s back support tucking down and breathable. The removable pocket on the hip belt is a into the pack when not in use. This Carrier fits people with great place to keep snacks for little one within easy reach torso length (from the hip bone to the top of shoulder) and provides a little bit of extra padding. With that being ranging from 15 inches to 23 inches, if you fall out of the only niggle, this is a great carrier for families that love this range, you can contact OE Carrier for customisation. the outdoors, it greatly increases the time you can carry a The carrier measures up at 22x14x6 inches when folded child on your shoulders, they feel much more secure, it frees and weighs 2kg and just 1.55kg with the 40L backpack up your hands and they get a great view of the world. Our removed, the max carrying weight recommended is 45lbs favourite thing was that its folds down when not in use, to make it comfortable to carry but the frame will take up you don’t get yourself caught in the trees when your child to 130lb (you don’t want them on your shoulders at this is walking along with you and when they have out grown it weight) and a max height of 45inches. The OE Carrier you still have a functional backpack to use. can be worn like a regular backpack until little one needs a break, then it involves unclipping a buckle to fold out the back support and shoulder straps. It will take a little bit of time adjusting all the straps during the first use but there are some great instructional videos on the website to help with this (all narrated by the creator’s daughter…so cute).

Katusha ICON Bib Shorts Cycling has exploded in recent years as a great way to get fit and healthy, low impact, high cardio and great for building muscles, like most forms of exercise you need to make sure you have the right gear to perform at your best. The Katusha ICON Bib Shorts feature a new ergonomic line technology with the TM Evo 3D Pad, designed for all-day riding comfort. Let’s start with arguably the most important feature of any cycle bib shorts, the pad, saddles can be rock hard to keep the pressure on your sit bones but to make it bearable you are going to need a bit of padding. The ICON uses an Evo 3D Pad, the front section of the pad features 3D construction which allows for increased volume and improved comfort whilst remaining soft and the eco-friendly E-go fabric sits softly next to the skin. The Evo 3D Pad has been created by Katusha Sports which has proprietary to them and creates a smooth surface next to your skin, essential to avoid chafing. The updated middle layer of the pad uses cellpur eco-friendly foam which provides reliable moisture management, vibration dumping and faster decomposition times at the end of the product life cycle. This biodegradable fabric is soft, highly breathable and made from Amni Soul Eco, a next-generation yarn created via a process which conforms to eco-friendly principles. The Tencel fibres integrated into
cellpur absorb up to 70 percent of their weight in moisture, the moisture is temporarily trapped and released after use. The Ergonomic Line Technology has increased the volume of the cup at the front and minimises the folding effect on the sides of the hips during the activity (chaps you know what I’m talking about here). The 3D Body Fit Bib design provides a close but natural fit around a variety of rider’s upper body shapes and sizes, there are no pressure points and the ICON remains secure throughout the entire ride. The 37.5 Thermoregulation Technology has been added to help to maintain your ideal core temperature and reduce energy wasted through temperature regulation. When you're hot, the active volcanic sand particles embedded into the material use your body's energy to remove moisture and cool you down. When you're cold, the active particles retain the body's energy to warm you up, these particles also trap odour and remove sweat in the vapour stage before liquid sweat forms. The ICON is a high performing bib with excellent moisture wicking, the low-cut front makes it easier when nature calls and overall? comfortable fit make these a good choice for long and fast paced rides.
Pros Elasticated mesh straps Highly breathable Moisture wicking No folding or bunching at the hips TM EVO 3D pad Material soft on skin Recycled Material in the pad's mid layer Wide elasticated band on the legs Stretch round stitching Reflective branding

Pros Breathable Light and compact Wind and rain protection Fully taped seams Reflective detailing Waterproof zip with a chin guard Zip garage Pocket access with magnetic closure Elasticated hem and wrists
Katusha Light Rain Jacket One of the many joys of cycling in the UK is the unpredictable weather, you can head out on a bright sunny morning and find yourself in a torrential downpour by midday, chances are whatever you go out wearing won’t be what you return in. The Katusha Light Rain jacket is ultra-lightweight at just 175g, its thin construction means you can fold it down into a compact size, easy to stuff in a saddle bag or jersey pocket, ready for when it’s needed. This jacket offers protection against both the wind and rain, without causing you to get all sticky and uncomfortable underneath, the material is breathable letting the vapour and sweat escape the jacket whilst it prevents water getting in. The Light Rain jacket has fully taped seam construction and a waterproof zip that features a chin guard at the top to prevent the cold metal from coming into contact with the skin. There is a long reflective line across the shoulders, reflective branding and a reflective line across the tail for better visibility in low light when out on the road.
The proprietary Ergonomic Line technology ensures full freedom of natural movement in the riding position, the tail is cut with a longer length with elasticated hem and a silicone strip to ensure it remains firmly in place during vigorous cycling and keeps out water splashing up from the road. There is an entry point cut out in the back of the jacket so you can easily access your jersey pockets without removing the jacket, the handy magnetic closure system stops wind and water getting in when you aren’t retrieving items from the pockets. There is only one colour to choose from in this jacket, Coral, it might not be to everyone’s taste, but it helps you stand out on the road and quickly locate it amongst your other cycling gear. This jacket delivers exactly what it promises, good protection against wind and rain on the ride, high levels of breathability and a comfortable nonrestrictive fit.
A protective jacket that helps you keep dry and cool during unpredictable weather.

Jarre Technologies AeroSkull HD+ Speaker Sy Jean Michel Jarre, pioneer of electronic music, a composer, sound-designer and performer met Roland Caville in 2005, a successful and experimental entrepreneur. This was the birth of Jarre Technologies and since then Jarre Technologies have created speakers that like to make a statement with witty, bold and powerful designs. I was a goth when I was younger and even though I have outgrown the eyeliner and chunky black crosses I am still instinctively drawn to anything in the shape of a skull. The AeroSkull HD+ Speaker System has one hell of a look, this large shiny skull comes in six colours, Glossy Red, Glossy Blue, Silver Chrome, Black Chrome, Gold Chrome and Pink Chrome as well as a chic Matt Black. This speaker is so cool it’s even wearing sunglasses and just makes for a brilliantly fun design that will certainly become a talking point within your home. This speaker comes with the option of connecting via Bluetooth, NFC, 3.5 mm mini jack and a lightning connector dock in the top of the head. It will take up a good deal of space on a shelf, measuring up at 35 x 35 x 35 cm, the line in can play CD players or any devices playing music straight to the speaker and it also supports MP3, AAC, WMA, protected AAC, WAV. The AeroSkull offers 50Hz to 20kHz +3db frequency range has a 92mm bass and two 18 mm satellite drive units, 120W RMS, two 30W mid-range and one 60W subwoofer amplifier output. There are audible tones when the speaker is switched on which are a bit cheesy sounding and don’t match the gothic design, the other thing that detracts from the quality of the product is the remote. Created in a bone shape it looks more dog toy than human skeleton, and in the chrome finish it easily gets covered in fingerprints, as do the control buttons located on the teeth. When it comes to sound quality however it doesn’t disappoint, the bass is a little soft at lower volumes but at mid and high levels it thumbs out, the mid tones are layered and distinct whilst the high tones are clear and bright. We understand this product won’t be for everyone but if you are looking for a decent sounding speaker (especially if you are an iPhone household) but with a unique twist the AeroSkull AeroSkull HD+ Speaker System is a worthy investment.
This bold speaker delivers impressive sound for something with no ears.

Clckr Stand Case I learned early on that my little hands are not compatible with the modern day smart phones, with some of the screens reaching up to 7inchs I struggle to wrap my thumb around the touch screen whilst maintaining a firm grip on the phone, this has resulted in two broken phones and numerous cracked screens. For the last three years I have used phone cases with attachments on the back to help me hold onto it, but these are often rather bulky cases that end up falling apart after a few months. The Clckr Stand is a smart phone case that combines both a stand and grip handle all in one, available for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, Samsung S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra. They also have the universal grip which sticks directly to your phone or your existing case, the navy blue design makes it stand out from the crowd whilst remaining smart enough for a professional environment. The profile of this case is very slim, making it easy to slip in your back pocket without it catching or adding extra bulk. Opening the stand feels a bit awkward to begin with, you need to push down on the top until you hear a click, this then opens up the stand so it can be wrapped around the hand, the inner lining is soft and comfortable against the skin. The stand can then be folded back on itself and secured with another click, this can then be used as a sturdy stand which can hold the phone up in landscape mood for watching movies or portrait mode for video calls. The rest of the case is made from a grippy almost leather effect material making it easier to hold, even with sweaty hands, when you are done with the stand you simply fold it down and click it into place again. All the cut outs around the edge of the case link up perfectly with the mic, camera, charging port etc and the rounded edges will protect the phone against drops and knocks. This inexpensive case makes holding even the largest phones much easier, the soft and flexible stand can become scuffed and marked over time, but it still remains a solid stand.

iSmartgate
Lite Garage Kit with iSmartgate Cam
The iSmart Lite Garage Kit comes with the iSmartgate Lite and the iSmartgate Cam, offering a convenient way to open the garage door and keep a close eye on your belongings. The Lite is compatible with all garage door openers made after 1993 with the exception of Chamberlain, Liftmaster and Craftsman openers with Security+ 2.0 technology. With integrated voice control and universal home integration the iSmartgate works with Apple Homekit, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Echo and iFTTT, all of which integrate for free so no additional hardware is required. Simply ask Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa to open or close the garage door. You can also check in for the status of the garage at any time from your phone to ensure your home is secure even when you are away. You can create scenes or home automations with other devices and services through the GarageWiFi and Gates iFTTT channel, there is also the option of creating different user accounts (restrictions by time, door and location). The iSmartgate allows remote operation (open/close) of garage, automatic open and closing can be set up via GPS when you approach or leave home or set to certain times of the day (let’s just hope you aren’t caught in traffic). Installation is a hit and miss process, there are instructions but they could be clearer, if you aren’t a tech whizz it can easily become frustrating, especially when it comes to linking up to IFTTT (you will need this to connect to Alexa). However, if you do have issues, you can contact their experienced support team who fixed the situation very quickly. Once installed there are occasional disconnections where the app cannot find the device which is frustrating. The IP camera which comes with this kit has a much easier installation process, simply scan the QR code with your phone and in put your Wi-Fi password, that we can do. This camera has a 720p HD resolution, in High Definition (1MP) from the iSmartgate Cam, it has night vision up to 8m, a wide angle 116˚ with two-way audio that allows you to speak to visitors and hear them from the iSmartgate Cam. The motion and sound detection alerts send real time alerts if it captures movement in the garage and the wireless connection and vertical tilting head makes it easy to locate in the perfect spot. There are plenty of features to love in this kit but that hit and miss connection makes it hard to trust that the garage door will open. The camera performed well and the real time alerts provide peace of mind.

battery indicator
Solid Five lighting mode with memory function
Easy to attach Cons Heavy Rather large When I lived in the city I would cycle a lot, I had lights to ensure I was visible to other road users and didn’t think any more of it. When I moved to the countryside I realised just what a modern blessing street lights are, it was time to upgrade my lighting so I could still ride my bike at night. When the Ampp1100 from Cateye arrived on my desk it was the perfect timing. The Ampp uses a twin-LED design with OptiCube lens technology, this helps to spread the light beam wide and evenly in front of you. This light is powered by a Li-ion rechargeable battery (7.4V-2500mAh) via the included Micro-USB cable, the built-in fast recharging circuit means the light will reach 100% in approx 3 hours minimum. There is a handy battery level indicator, blue above 50%, yellow 30-50% and red less than 30%, this ensures you never get surprised with a dead battery in the middle of a country lane. There are five different light modes to choose from High, Middle, Low, Daytime HyperConstant and Flashing. The Ampp provides at high a run time of 1.5hrs and kicks out 1100 lumens, Middle gives 2hrs at 800 lumens and when it is on Low you get 4.5hrs with 400 lumens, the Daytime HyperConstant mode flicks between 1100 and 400 lumens for up to 6.5hrs and you get the most time in Flashing mode at 200 lumens for up to 50hrs. This healthy battery life makes it great for both short commutes and longer rides as it allows you to conserve the battery when needed by easily toggling through the different modes, a quick double click of the power button will automatically set the high mode when a light boost is needed. The light casing wraps around the edge of the unit so it spreads the light beam out to both edges of the road even on the lowest setting. In this setting it reaches out to about 13 meters, which is perfectly usable in the darkest conditions, the medium setting was reaching out to about 25meters whilst the highest setting is almost too bright creating dark shadows from the bike itself but it is handy in some situations. The Ampp is rather heavy at 200g and measures up at 48 x 105 x 34mm, it attaches to the top of the handlebars (top mounted only) via the FlexTight bracket, there is a helmet mount and centre fork bracket available and sold separately. This light is a good choice for low light and night-time cycling, you can easily use it on low mode, which gives a very healthy battery life and switch to a visibility light when you are in the city.
This bright and wide light will guide you home safely.

Urbanista Sydney It is easy to assume that small speakers can only produce small noises, but this is certainly not the case when it comes to the Sydney speaker from Urbanista, this compact wireless sound system measures up at just 9 x 7 x 3cm approximately. The Sydney comes in Midnight Black, Olive Green, Fluffy Cloud and Rose Gold with a mesh covering, tough plastic ends and silicone grips on the bottom for a sturdy foundation. There is a Micro USB port for charging up the speaker via the included cable and there is an AUX port to play music wired however no cable is included for this. We cannot complain however when it is so inexpensive, speaking of how low-cost they are if you have the pennies it is worth doubling up on these speakers as you can connect two to one device, this gives you an awesome stereo effect. When you switch on the speaker you get an array of different beeps indicating it’s switched on, ready to pair, paired and when you are turning it off, this is handy as the indicator light is tucked under the mesh and not that obvious, especially in sunlight.
The sound has been developed in close collaboration with the prominent audio engineer Axel Grell, this has resulted in an impressive sound for such a small device, it is enjoyable with rich bass, defined mid tones and bright high tones. The Sydney also creeps up to some impressive volumes (80dB) also the high and mid tones get a little more jumbled at its peak volume but not enough to make for unpleasant listening. The Bluetooth 5.0 connection ensure undistorted sound and zero latency, it is water resistant with an IPX5 rating, we liked this speaker so much that it’s a shame the battery only lasts 5 hours, you could easily listen to it all day. However, you can charge and play at the same time and a full charge only takes 1.5hours and offers a standby time of 30days. The Sydney is a great speaker for day trips or camping, you can pop it in your pocket or bag without sacrificing too much space and bring the party out wherever you are.

The remote is quite small and can be a little fiddly due to its shape but with a little concentration it becomes easier to use, the app is very intuitive and allows you to get the frame up and running within a matter of minutes. The woven power cord doubles up as an adjustable stand, this makes it easy to place in tight spaces and angle it precisely. The Seed will automatically rotate images depending on whether it is set up in vertical or horizontal configuration. The image displays are bright, clear and full of colour, the audio is satisfactory, it doesn’t carry across the room but is more than good enough to enjoy the videos. One of the best things about this frame is that friends and family can upload their photos or videos from anywhere in the world, this is great for sharing private photos without posting them on social media, see your best friends babies first steps or send granny your engagement photos, it’s a wonderful, personal surprise. The Seed is a great digital photo frame for those with social media or as a gift for those you would love to see your photos and videos, it is worth noting there are no SD or USB ports but the instinctive app, cloud drive and social media connectivity gives you a lot of display options.
A great way Pros Good value for money to keep loved Connects social media accounts ones close. Slim and discrete profile Flexible stand for a range of angles Uploads photos and videos anytime, anywhere Horizontal or vertical display Intuitive app Hu-Motion Sensor Bright and clear images Cons No SD or USB ports Needs WiFi Small remote difficult in large hands

Keeley Electronics Loomer Straight out of the box it is solid, compact, black and purple, so it must sound fantastic. With seven control knobs and two mini toggle switches on the face, it is bound to attract shoegazers, which is after all who it is aimed at. The pedal is essentially two pedals in one or perhaps even 3 with the fuzz side being the simplest to understand. The three knobs on the right-hand side only influence the fuzz effect. The tiny toggles offer a choice of ‘flat’ sound, ‘full’ is a darker sound with extra mids or a traditional ‘scooped’ rock sound with some mids removed. The three options are distinct different sounds which can be further modified by using the filter knob to give increased bass or increased treble. The fuzz knob increases or decreases the fuzz effect, as you would expect, with the level knob controlling the overall level. These are standard functions and the fuzz side alone will give more than enough choice of fuzz tones if this is all you need. The left-hand side has three distinct different reverb modes on the toggle switch the full description of the heritage of these is set out on the technical leaflet. Focus mode (left) is a reverb with double delay plus four chorus voices, Reverse mode (centre) gives a delayed signal played back with a swelling echo and Hall mode (right) is a reverb effect with added octave ascending loop to produce a shimmer effect. The centre knob is the modulator control which works in conjunction with the three reverb modes. In Focus mode it controls the depth of all four chorus voices.
In Reverse mode it adds whammy bar style vibrato, turning the knob increases the depth of vibrato. In Hall mode the depth knob controls the degree of pitch shimmer (note- turning the warmth knob to bright will further increase the shimmer effect). The other three knobs include a Blend knob, which gives wet or dry mix, the Delay knob controls the rate of reverb fade time while Warmth is as labelled, bright to dark. The foot switches are well spaced, and the mini toggles are protected from being accidentally caught by the foot but being very small they may be difficult to operate if you are equipped with big banana fingers. When used separately the fuzz side is straightforward but the reverb side will require a good deal more twiddling to explore the full range of complex and varied effects on offer, all of which tend to be dreamy atmospheric sounds. Once the two sides of the unit have been explored then hit both pedals into operation and let the true shoegazing loveliness begin. As the pedal name suggests this enters the world of My Bloody Valentine and their swirling fuzz rich sound which this pedal gives you a good chance of recreating. This is why we have the two pedals in one, it gives the user the tools to replicate that loomer sound. It is not a pedal which will appeal to the rock shedders or

blues players out there but if you are prepared to venture into the world of psychedelic, prog and shoegazing rock and pop then this double pedal will come into its own. Oh! I nearly missed it, just when you have got the hang of the fuzz into reverb combo there is a ‘bonkers button’ hidden away at the back of the pedal to reverse the order (reverb into fuzz). This should come with a health warning as it will convert your dreamy psychedelic tones into shambolic psychotic weirdness. I can’t immediately think why you would use this but it is there if you need it. The combined cost of a separate fuzz pedal and a decent reverb pedal would be about the same as this double unit but probably not include the exact same features on the reverb side.
Pros Dreamy sound will appeal to prog, pop and psychedelic fans Compact Solid The Loomer offers Foot switches well-spaced a combination of Great range of tones sounds that shoe Reasonably priced Cons gazing rockers will Mini toggles very small love. Ekster Parliament Wallet Ekster sets out to make life as easy as possible by reimagining the traditional wallet by making it simpler to use and harder to lose. Based in the Netherlands Ekster is named after the Dutch word for Magpie, well known for its habit of collecting and hiding shiny things. Inspired by the Magpie the Ekster’s flagship wallet the Parliament (named after a flock of Magpies) was created to protect everyday valuables. The Parliament wallet comes in seven editions in its classic design (we received the Nappa Black version), it is also available in three different colours of vegan leather, made with PVB sourced from scrapped cars and three matte finishes to ensure there is a perfect colour and material for everyone. The Nappa Black is constructed from genuine leather which will age beautifully with use and are tanned under gold-rated LWG environmental protocols. The built-in aluminium cardholder is one of the things that sets this wallet apart, with a press of a button the card-slider mechanism pops out up to six non-embossed cards (or a combination of 4 - 5 embossed/non-embossed cards) in a staggered fashion making it easy to locate the card you need. I found selecting a card easy when they were fanned but my sausage fingered friend struggled to separate them, there are two pockets where you can store your most used cards. This wallet can take 12+ cards but it is recommended that 9 is the max number. The other special thing about the Parliament is that it is trackable thanks to the never-beforeseen solar-powered tracking technology, this super-slim
tracker card is connected to your smart phone and lets you locate and ring your wallet anytime, anywhere, no more digging behind the sofa cushions trying to find it. With built in solar powered technology, it requires 800 lux to charge at maximum capacity, meaning that it doesn't need direct contact with sun-rays for a sufficient charge, three hours of sunlight will charge the battery for two months. The RFID/NFC protecting technology in the wallet protects your cards from wireless skimming and private data theft, the elasticated strap can be used to store bank notes but unfortunately there is nowhere to store coins. There is a lot to love about the Parliament, however, there are elements that won’t work for everybody. It is reasonably compact (1.1 x 10.5 x 6.5 cm) but the metal construction means it is better suited in a jacket pocket than a trouser pocket, the cards in the card slider can slip out if given a shake (I’m not sure why you would do this but it’s something to consider). It is hard to see all your bank notes under the strap and removing just one at a time can add to awkward fiddling that this wallet was trying to avoid. This wallet comes down to personal preference, it is a premium construction, the tracking card and RFID protection are great features but the limited space and solid body make it best suited for evenings out and special occasions rather than everyday use.
This wallet won’t be perfect for everyone however the

Humanscale Freedom Headrest Chair I am now, amongst many others, part of the new wave of worker ants plying their trade from home and when I was informed I would be reviewing the Freedom Headrest Chair I couldn’t wait, as I have been sat on a wooden kitchen chair for the last few months! The Chair arrives in two parts, the base which already has the castors attached and the seat itself. It is very simple to assemble, just slot the seat on top of the base, however instructions are included in case you get stuck. My first thoughts were how stylish this looked, from the castors to the base, the stem to the chair and both the armrests and headrest screamed great craftmanship, simple yet elegant. Now when I first sat in the chair I was impressed, but let’s be honest after sitting on a wooden kitchen chair for 8 hours a day for 2 months anyone would find most things more comfortable. So, I went out and sat at a normal chair in our office for a day and then came back home to try the Freedom with a more cleansed palette and it was a cut above. The first thing you notice is how pronounced the lower lumbar section is. It hits your back right away and if you are looking for great lower support, the Freedom chair has it. The backrest also has a pivoting function, which is unique. As you move back and forth in the chair, the lumbar moves with you and I found myself typing away while leaning back and forth which I have never done before. With other features such as the Seat slider function, Height adjustable backrest and the Articulating headrest Synchronous armrests this chair can be moulded to your heart’s desire. We had this for three weeks and it yanked on my heart strings when it had to be returned, I would love to have this chair as a permanent fixture but I simply can’t afford it for the price of £1240 RRP this is aimed more at business or workers on a much higher paygrade than myself. Aside from the price my only other gripe was taking it apart when it had to be returned, which was a mixture of sadness to say goodbye and anger as I couldn’t separate the base unit from the seat. You are meant to hit the end sharply with a hammer to separate but I couldn’t manage to do it even when reading and watching tutorials. If I won the lottery and was kitting out my office this is the first thing I would buy, I loved it that much I just wish it was slightly more affordable for me.

You can use the Netgem TV to find 30,000 hours of on-demand TV from catchup services including BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4, My5 and UKTV, the Netgem TV app can be used to search and cast programmes straight to the TV and connect as many devices as you like. This 4K version provides brighter and crisper images whilst the Dolby Atmos compatibility sound system means you can be fully immersed in three-dimensional audio. The remote isn’t the most responsive and that can make set up a laborious task, once set up though it is easy to use, the dedicated buttons save you from trawling through endless menus which can be a bit slow-moving. If you have an Amazon Alexa smart device this can be paired to the Netgem TV allowing you to find programmes and movies quicker with voice command. The Netgem TV is a good way of updating an old TV and accessing a wide collection of channels and streaming devices, if you are a die-hard Netflix fan there are cheaper options available but the combination of Freeview and streaming apps offer plenty of alternative viewing.

Koo-di Deluxe Foldaway Playpen Babies are great for the first six months, put them down and they will stay in that same spot, no problem, then comes the day when they begin to roll, scoot, crawl and pull themselves up. This also comes with a degree of ninja skills which means they can silently move from their playmat into your kitchen cupboards in a matter of seconds. The Koo-di Deluxe Foldaway Playpen is a lightweight and portable playpen that can be unfolded in seconds providing a safe space to put baby down, allowing them to play and you to have five minutes to yourself. This playpen is suitable from six months up to three years or until they weigh 15kg or are over 89cm in height, whichever is reached first. The base of the playpen is padded and water resistant to safeguard against little accidents and makes it suitable for use both inside and out. The sides of the pen are constructed from a durable mesh, this allows for plenty of ventilation and gives baby a view of the world around them (and lets you easily see them) with no bars for little arms and legs to poke through. One handy addition is the integrated zip door, this is a more back friendly way of placing baby in and out of the pen, the door can be left open to create a little fort where they can come and go. The Deluxe is so easy to pop out and fold away and comes with its own handy carry bag making it easily portable to take to the park, beach, nanna’s house, wherever. All the folding mechanisms are hidden away under the padded top to prevent bumps or fingers getting caught. It measures up at (H)76 x (W)137 x (D)118 cm when open and packs down to (H)22 x (W)75 x (D)22 cm. It is a bit of a lump weighing in at 6.17kg, this is due to the strong steel tubes which are needed to create the secure frame, when it comes to cleaning it is wipe clean only. The Koo-di Deluxe Foldaway Playpen is a functional and portable space for baby when you need both your hands for a little while, a great way of keeping baby safe and in one spot.

Pros Large design These will become a Multi-functional reliable and essential Anti-bacterial item for day to day Breathable baby care. Fast drying Silky soft bamboo cotton
Purflo Muslin Squares Sets Let’s face it, babies come with a lot of accessories, its impressive how such a tiny person can require such an array of products when all they seem to do is eat and sleep, if a product can be used for a variety of different things it immediately scores brownie points. Sometimes it is the simplest products that are the ones that stand the test of time and when it comes to babies, muslin cloth is an absolute staple. The Muslin Square Sets from Purflo are nice and large at 120 x 120cm making them extra versatile, they can be used for swaddling, as a nursing cover, pram blanket, comforter, tummy time and cleaning up messes in an emergency. They come in packs of two either in Ellie the Elephant, Gigi the Giraffe, Ziggy the Zebra prints with a cute little animal on one cloth and the plain stripy pattern on the other. Theses muslins are made from 100% bamboo cotton, a softer and more sustainable fabric than cotton it also has naturally occurring anti-bacterial properties and gets softer with each and every wash. The fabric is wonderfully light, it will keep baby warm without being restrictive and remains breathable to ensure baby doesn’t get too warm or uncomfortable, this also means it works well as a sunshade over a pram. The silky material is gentle against the skin, if it needs to be utilised to wipe away a little dribble (either baby or yours, we know you are tired, and these things happen) it won’t irritate the skin. These muslins offer great absorption, they can be machine washed and are fast to dry, they can be hung out in the sunshine to naturally bleach away stains. These Bamboo Muslins are multifunctional, long lasting and ultra-soft and the sweet characters make them a great choice for a gift for expectant parents.

Nokta Makro Simplex+ It was recently reported that a 10 year-old in Northern Ireland discovered a 300 year old sword hilt after trying out a metal detector he got for his birthday, this shows that you don’t have to be an experienced detectorist to find buried treasure. The Simplex+ from Nokta Makro has been designed as a versatile detector with high end performance but at entry level prices, this is the first waterproof detector on the market offering extreme depth at this price. As the name suggests the Simplex+ is simple to use, with a turn on and go action with auto ground balancing, it features pre-set search modes, including a beach mode, with single menu design. This detector has a retractable shaft which shrinks down to 63cm making it suitable for children as well as making it easier to transport and more controllable in the water. It has a lightweight design at 1.3kg which reduces any fatigue in the arm when out all day, and with up to a 12hour battery life it is certainly possible. The Simplex+ has an IP68 rating making it fully submersible up to 3 meters (10 ft) and protected from total dust ingress, this means it is suitable for diving but only in shallow waters, rivers for example. The vibrating alert allows you to uncover things underwater but can also be used as a secondary alert
for when out on dry land or primary alert for hearing impaired users. The Iron Volume mode lets you turn off or adjust the volume of the low iron tone, the Notch Discrimination separates target IDs of unwanted metals. There are five search modes, Field, Park 1, Park 2 and Beach as well as an All Metal mode, the Built-in Wireless Module is compatible with 2.4 GHz Nokta Makro Green Edition Wireless Headphones, which are generously padded and provide for cable free comfort. You can get rid of EMI easily by shifting the frequency in small increments, the display panel has an LCD backlight, keypad backlight and around the front there is a LED flashlight to increase visibility at night and underwater. Other features include the USB charger allowing a power boost from a power bank, the detector can stay up todate with online firmware updates available via the USB on a PC making it less likely to outgrow this machine. There are also now 2 optional coils available – SP22 and SP24 for stubble and trashy sites. It is hard not to fall in love with this detector, it is simple enough for beginners but technical enough for experienced detectorists to enjoy and who knows, the first thing you dig up could be an ancient lost treasure…or a bottle cap, that is all part of the fun.
Pros Excellent value for money £399 Iron Volume and Notch Discrimination of up to 10ft Simple to use A great choice Lightweight Retractable shaft for beginners Pre-set modes and experts alike, USB Charging Wireless headphones excellent value for Suitable for money. underwater depth Cons Not suitable for deep sea diving For more information on the Nokta Makro Simplex+ click here

Kleine Dreumes Kid-Sit Toddlers have the unique ability of making you want to tear your hair out one minute to laughing hysterically in the space of a few seconds, they are fickle little creatures and travelling about on foot with them always brings a set of problems. They have just discovered their feet and want to walk everywhere the downside is their legs are little and they get tired quickly, add a younger sibling taking up the space in the push chair and you have the recipe for a stressful daytrip. Kleine Dreumes was founded by Hanneke Schepers, a Dutch mother of three toddlers (THREE!!), she took the idea of the standing board that attaches to a push chair and realised that tired legs probably want to sit down for a while. Hanneke designed and created the Twoo, a chair designed specifically to fit with the Bugaboo’s wheeled board, from there she went on to design a universal board seat, called the Kid-Sit. The Kid-Sit is a stroll-along board and seat for children from around 18 months up to 4 years old (40 lbs), with a simple design it is easy to use, the board rests on the back axle and is held on by durable straps.
The seat then just clicks into place on the board, giving the child the option for standing up or sitting down. Check before purchasing that the Kid-Sit that it is compatible with your stroller, an adapter for those strollers without a rear axle bar the Quinny Buzz or Stokke for example. The Kid-Sit is rather bulky measuring at 17.7 x 5.9 x 11 inches, this means you have to commit before leaving the house or car as to whether you want it attached or not, saying that it might be possible to store it in the shopping basket of some push chairs. When in action the Kid-Sit works really well, providing a reasonable smooth ride for the little one, the padded chair is comfortable and the handle gives the extra security, they can pretend they are riding a horse. The only downside is that you may have to adapt your walking style when the seat is attached to avoid bumping your shins, this isn’t too much of an issue on gentle strolls. The Kid-Sit works great for tired little legs we just wished it was slightly more adult friendly with a more compact design for easier portability.

The camera can also be plugged directly into an interactive flat panel display if the panel has its own built-in operating system, check out the website for a list of known compatible devices available here. This camera is USB powered, simply plug it in and it is ready to use, no complicated installation process which makes it ideal for switching quickly between computers or displays. The camera has 1280x720 (720p) resolution with a 5cm-infinity focus range, wide angle optical lens and a noise reducing microphone, it has been designed to be used as a webcam, portable document camera and visualiser. This camera can view a full A4 or US letter sheet and project it onto the whiteboard via your PC and projector, this will require downloading the HUE Intuition software (Windows or macOS) or opening the document camera in a camera or video application already installed, the length of the flexible neck makes it easy to arrange into position, there is a built in LED light that helps to illuminate a document or your face. The HUE Intuition software also lets you record video and sound, save movies locally, email or upload to YouTube, annotate images and save as JPG/BMP/PNG/GIF, take snapshots and take multiple images over time. Most teachers don't want autofocus if they have their hands under the camera as the camera would continually try to focus, the lack of an autofocus means it can take time manually focusing on documents for display, another handy addition would be a mount attachment, just so there was an option of attaching the HUE HD Pro to the monitor or other surface. Overall, everything about this little camera is quick and seamless, the images are clear and bright and the HUE Intuition software makes it a versatile product, ideal for the classroom and learning at home.
