We were delighted to receive a few more from the collection particularly the Venice omfortable wide seat Pro Ceramic Non-Stick Shallow Casserole and Ceramic Non-Stick Frying Pan as we hadn’t previously used these. reathable mesh We were drawn to the Venice Pro Ceramic range firstly because of its attractive design, the grey matte finish and glossy stainless-steel handles have a timelessness about them but looks count for nothing if the product cannot perform well. That is certainly not an issue with this cookware, the hard-anodised aluminium exterior is durable and comes complete with Magneto Induction technology making it suitable for all heat sources. The Thermolon Infinity Pro, non-stick coating is enhanced with diamonds (yes diamonds) and withstands even the most intense usage and cleaning, speaking of cleaning that is one of my favourite things about this range, they clean up beautifully and effortlessly, no matter what food violations you have performed. The riveted stainless-steel handles allow your cookware to safely go into the oven and the glass lids provide easy food monitoring without losing the heat. This range is dishwasher proof however hand washing is recommended to help keep the cookware at its best, the Venice Pro Ceramic collection can be used with Gas, Electric, Ceramic and Induction whilst the thick base ensure an even distribution of heat.

Hana Expand Baby and Toddler Carrier In the animal kingdom many new-borns are on their feet within minutes after being born, thankfully human infants take a little longer to get moving, it is pretty nice in those early months knowing they will stay exactly where you put them, the down side to this is you will have to carry them everywhere. The Hana Expand Baby and Toddler Carrier makes lugging about your child a more comfortable experience, it comes in four attractive designs GreySeafoam, Grey-Yellow, Navy-Charcoal and NavyPetrol. The shell and lining are made from 100% organic cotton, this keeps the weight down low to just 1kg and the whole carrier packs down to a small and compact piece when not in use, easy to store away in the nappy bag. The flexible structure can be adjusted in width and length, so it can accommodate babies from newborn (3.5kgs/7.7lbs) without the need of an insert, it grows with your baby into toddlerhood (up to 20kgs/44lbs), adjustments are easy to make with a simple sliding movement. The carrier can be worn on the front or back with the straps straight or crossed, whatever you find gives you and baby the best support and comfort, the straps are generously padded and the large buckle is easy to open with one hand.
Unlike some carriers the Expand is intuitive to put on and baby feels secure from the very beginning and can be adapted with the removeable head support Like many child carriers the Expand can get rather warm, this is just a result of having baby so close to your body, but the wide waist belt and padded shoulder straps certainly add to the insulation. Dainese AWA BLACK PARKA WMN AWA Black is the iconic winter collection from Dainese made for superior all-weather protection with thermal isolation and an optimal fit in cold climate conditions, the women’s AWA BLACK PARKA has been created to feel as comfortable on the mountain peaks as it does popping down to the local corner shop. The outer membrane of the PARKA uses GoreTex 2L Membrane to ensure it can keep out even the worst of the snow and rain whilst allowing any moisture created inside the jacket to escape, helping you to keep dry and comfortable. The inner lining is a mix between the North down cluster and Merino Wool that comes from Argentina, (40% Wool, 60% Real Duck Down), this not only feels soft against your body but keeps you toasty warm.
With an athletic fit, the jacket hugs the body without restricting movement, the longer cut with the elasticated drawstring at the bottom of the hem ensures water, snow and wind don’t get a chance to get down the back of your trousers. The large cargo pockets feature a zip and flap to keep out water, there is a small pocket in the left arm that can be used for a ski pass or other small items, there is also a chest pocket but no pockets inside the coat. The main zip is a YKK AquaGuard VISLON water repellent zip with a large zip cover which adds to the style of the jacket, there are reflective strips on the chest pocket and hood, whilst the entire jacket is fully seam sealed. The hood is soft and snuggly (technical term), fully adjustable and provides ample protection against harsh weather, the inner cuffs around the wrists are soft and seal out the wind. The PARKA comes with a high price tag but it more than makes up for it with design, it’s lightweight, weatherproofing, warm and being oh so comfortable, this versatile jacket is worth every penny.

Topo Designs Classic Duffel The Duffel bag is one of those “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” products used by the military, for travel, sports and leisure alike, the name is derived from the town Duffel, in Flanders, Belgium, where the thick duffel cloth used to make the bag originated in the 17th century (store that knowledge nugget away for future pub quizzes). VAX ONEPWR Glide Hard Floor Cleaner Spring is here, it’s a beautiful time of year when the sun streams in through the windows and highlights every grubby mark and speck of dust in your house and you wonder how you have been living in such squalor all winter. The VAX ONEPWR Glide is a hard floor cleaner that vacuums, washes and dries hard floors all in one go, whilst killing 99.9% of bacteria, it comes with one free 250ml ONEPWR Multi-floor Solution and a spare brush roll. Powered by the Glide 4.0Ah battery, the new interchangeable battery, compatible with all the ONEPWR range, this offers up to 30 minutes runtime before needing to be recharged. We were getting about 25mins on the high power setting, this should be enough to get most homes done in one go but be warned a full recharge will take 3hours, a second battery can be purchased but it doesn’t come cheap at £79.99. Unlike when using a mop, you don’t need to worry about vacuuming beforehand as the Glide does it all, the Twin Tank technology ensures that only clean water is used, thanks to the separate clean and dirty water tanks. The 600ml capacity might not seem a lot but the efficient use of the water combined with the brush roll means you don’t need a lot for an effective clean, it also ensures that the floor dries out quickly. The Glide is suitable for sealed wood floors, laminate, lino, vinyl, stone and tiles; however, it did struggle to get deep down into the grouting, on some tiled floors. The vacuum worked effectively on both small and large debris, most marks were also removed by the wet brush in one go, very dried on dirt may take a couple of goings over to get rid of it, but it is still quicker and less effort than a mop. The unit is reasonably lightweight and easy to navigate around the house with minimal effort, like many similar products of its kind it struggles to get right up to the very edge of the room, but it certainly gets closer than most. The built in LED Headlight lets you see into those dark corners and under furniture and when the cleaning is complete the auto clean system rinses the machine making it ready for next time. The ONEPWR Glide is a rather pricey investment, it is probably overkill if the only hard floors are in the kitchen and bathroom but with its intuitive handling and high performance it is well worth it for larger surface areas.

Dakine Cyclone Hydroseal 36L The surf look is a cool look, the board, the tan, the sea salt in the hair but even the most free spirited surfer dude needs a place to stow their gear when they hit the water, The Cyclone Hydroseal 36L from Dakine is a waterproof bag designed with surfers in mind. This bag comes in three designs, Dark Ashcroft Camo, Nile Blue and Griffin, measuring up at 53 x 36 x 15cm it has a 36-litre volume, it will keep both water and sand away from the contents. This compact bag is capable of being both a reliable day pack for everyday use and also for outdoor adventures, the welded seams ensure that water, dust and sand cannot penetrate the bag. The Waterproof YKK Aquaseal zipper on the main compartment does a great job of keeping water out of the bag, occasionally it even stops the owner, this is because this heavy-duty zip is a little stiff, this might loosen up over time. It is worth noting that the YKK moulded zippers on the front organisation pockets are not waterproof, these front pockets can be used to separate wet gear from the dry belongings.
The integrated board carry system frees up your hands and is suitable for systems up to 15 lbs (6.8 kgs), the back panel has been constructed with a padded U shape to protect the back whilst providing a little air flow. Putting in the extra effort during a workout or trying out some new moves will help to build muscle and improve your performance, the downside to this is when you get up the next day and hobble down the stairs like John Wayne. Stadler Form Jasmine We enjoy a lot of experimental home cooking, unfortunately this can result in the house smelling of a combination of curry and salmon for days afterwards, add in two cats and regular indoor workouts and the house can easily end up smelling like a men’s locker room. Luckily there are loads of options to return fragrant bliss to the home, diffusers being one of the safer and more economical choices, the Jasmine from Stadler Form with its 24hour output being one of them. This rather tactile diffuser has a soft touch coating and weights just 400g when empty, it does require plugging into the mains for power which could reduce the location possibilities however the 1.5m lead is long enough to give you options. The simple bowl shape has the clean lines you would expect from Swiss design and provides a reasonably discreet appearance, however with only Black, White, Red Chilli and Titanium colours to choose from these may stand out a little in your home décor. The Jasmine uses ultrasonic technology to transform the water blended with essential oil into an extra fine mist, only a few drops of oil are needed for each use. The interval mode can be selected to release the mist at every 20-minutes throughout the day, we received the Jasmine in black and noticed some water marks were left after a few days use, this might not be as obvious in other colours. There are three oils available directly from Stadler Form, Revive, Refresh and Relax ($16.90) all originating from ecologically sustainable production, NOT tested on animals and contains NO synthetic substances, pesticides or parabens, of course you can use your own oils too. As much as we liked the minimalist look improvements could be made to style it up a little, the plastic used doesn’t feel like the highest quality and the colours could be more contemporary. When it comes to performance however the Jasmine came into its own, the fragrance fills the room without being overpowering and works away diligently without drawing attention to itself, helping to restore fragrant harmony within the home.

Fast and Furious Dominic’s '70 Dodge Charger Dominic Toretto is a pretty cool guy, I mean he’s not exactly a squeaky clean good guy but you would much rather he was on your side than against you, the iconic ’70 Dodge Charger previously Dominic’s dad’s car has been used countless times to win races and defeat baddies. Easily the most recognisable car in the Fast and Furious movie series, this jet-black car appears in most of the films, that’s now nine in total making it the most successful franchise in Universal Studios history. The Dodge Charger nameplate has been used on three different platforms, the most famous Chargers were the classic ‘68 through ‘70 versions with the Chrysler B-body, these cars sell for thousands of dollars today. Dominic’s ‘70 Charger has the powerful HEMI engine, which is a classic on its own, this was a special engine option in 1970, and is very rare today, it helped Dodge win many stockcar races and championships.

Gone are the days where vacuum cleaners need to keep you tethered to the wall, with cordless cleaners becoming more powerful and effective they are now turning out to be one of the first choices for many homes. The X20 from Roidmi is a cordless vacuum cleaner with the capacity to mop at the same time giving you double the cleaning power in half the time, with a 120,000rpm brushless motor, a healthy 65 minute battery life, magnetic wireless charger and Air-X air-dust separation system. This Air-X air-dust separation system avoids congestion and loss of suction with six layer filtration and double purification from the front and rear filters. The wet mop accessory can hold 160ml water, the Intelligent Slow Drop technology avoids too much water being left on the floor, the magnetic microfiber mop pad works well at removing day to day dirt, for tough dried on messes you will still have to use some elbow grease. The nanoscale hydrophobic fibre is waterproof, anti-fouling and selfcleaning, the 270° two-way handle, allows you to comfortably grip with both hands making mopping the floor a little easier. That generous battery life we mentioned earlier is quickly depleted when the X20 is on its highest setting (in little more than 10 minutes), however the lowest setting is more than capable enough to tackle daily dust and dirt, the battery is also replaceable if needed.
The X20 performed best on hard floors, it manoeuvres easily around and underneath furniture and its lightweight design makes it comfortable to handle for extended periods of time. However, the X20 did struggle more on carpets with mid to deep pile, especially with finer dirt and some hair, you may find yourself going over the same spot multiple times and still missing some bits. Like everything these days it comes with an app, this is not essential for use, it will basically tell you the battery and filter life as well as stats on how long you have been cleaning for and the surface area covered, interesting but not necessary. The light-sensitive LED lighting automatically comes on in a dark corner or under the sofa making it easier to spot debris, the dust bin is a little on the small side at just 400ml which means you will have to empty it out regularly. The X20 is a solid midrange option, the suction power is reasonable, the battery life is good, and the wide range of attachments give you plenty of cleaning options, the mop feature is handy but it is a little tricky to get to grips with so don’t let this be the main reason you choose this vacuum.

Jose Eber HST Infrared Wet/Dry Flat Iron It’s a miracle if my hair sees a hair brush most days, it tends to get gathered up into a messy bun and there it will remain until I fall asleep which results in a knotty birds nest in the morning, however there are plenty of people out there who actually take care of their hair and style it each morning. Washing, blow drying, and styling can take up a lot of time so Jose Eber’s HST Infrared Flat Iron cuts out the middleman by being suitable for wet and dry styling. The HST (heat styling technology) Infrared Wet/Dry Flat iron is constructed with extra wide 2” steam venting Tourmaline Ceramic plates, the sample we received had light scratches on the plate but we believe this was an isolated issue with this particular unit. The infrared technology uses infrared light for a longer wavelength to produce a deeper penetrating heat for healthy, shiny results, by sealing in the moisture and protecting the hair, the far-infrared light produces negative ions and heat which eliminates frizz and adds shine. The Digital temperature control ensures you have the right temperature for your hair type, it heats up quickly and can be adjusted between 100˚C-200˚C.
The venting steam plates provide a high gloss finish and are the key to using it on wet hair, just make sure you have used some form of heat protection spray just like you would on dry hair. The flat irons will switch off automatically after 60minutes of non-use for safety and there is a switch at the base to keep them locked closed when not in use. A heat proof safety mat or carry case would be a useful addition for extra safety, there is a slight gradient on the plate, so when closed there is a gap at the bottom of the plates, a little bit of pressure is needed to bring the plates together however it didn’t seem to affect the overall performance of the flat irons. The irons don’t open particularly wide either which can make styling a little fiddly especially around the back of the head. During our tests the Infrared Wet/ Dry Flat Iron performed well, the drying element feels all kinds of wrong to begin with but works quickly and effectively, they are a little pricey but if it saves you time in the morning this could be well worth it for the extra few minutes in bed.

Umbra Otto Soap Dispenser Sometimes you come across a gadget that is simple and yet makes such sense you wonder how you even managed before, now this might sound like a big statement for an automatic soap dispenser but we use them in most public toilets when we are out these days, it makes sense to use them in our homes too. The Otto from Umbra is the latest addition to my collection of automatic soap dispensers, why so many? Well, when you have one in the house you become more aware of how much more convenient it is over regular soap dispensers. Whether you are in the bathroom or kitchen, the one-handed activation makes it much more accessible and the touch free function avoids spreading the germs and dirt onto the soap dispenser. The Otto is slightly larger than some of our other units, it has a 266 ml capacity and measures 8.75 x 4.25 x 3.75 inches, making it a rather tall device. It looks rather elegant with its tapered neck and rounded edges, hands can easily fit under the sensor at a comfortable distance to avoid touching any part of the dispenser, it comes in three different finishes, Nickel / Black, White / Chrome and Black / Chrome.

The Otto can be filled with dish soap, liquid hand soap, or hand sanitizer, the Otto dispenses a fixed amount which is not adjustable, it is slightly more than I would choose so it has taken up residence in the kitchen where the messiest hand washes seem to take place. The window on the front lets you see just how much soap is left in the Otto and it operates on four AAA batteries (not included), we would recommend investing in some high quality rechargeable batteries to save on money and waste. The battery compartment is slightly awkward, it requires one of those tiny screw drivers you get in crackers (not included) this might be worth bearing in mind if it’s placed in a high traffic area of the house. All in all, the Otto is good value for money, it’s a shame the amount dispensed cannot be adjusted but the sensor is responsive and the design rather stylish, we believe once you have one, more will quickly follow.
