DJ game changer.

â‚Ź299.99

The Phase Essential from MWM is the first wireless controller for a digital vinyl system (DVS), offering a brand-new way to play, letting you control music playing from a DJ software system removing the need for turntable needles and timecode audio vinyl. This neat little kit comes in the form of two remotes that fit over the vinyl and a wireless receiver, the remotes feedback the rotation data in real time to the receiver which then processes the data and sends it to the DVS. The Phase Essential is surprisingly easy to use with an intuitive design, after the initial set up you are ready to go, it works with any DVS DJ setup and features two stereo RCA outputs, it comes configured with Serato but will also work with other software like Virtual DJ, Traktor and Rekordbox. This kit has a robust build with a powerful battery that will get through the night with up to 10 hours per charge, the Phase is also impact resistant so bumps into the table won’t affect the performance. The connection is reliable and stable, the last thing you need is equipment failure halfway through a set, with a higher level of stability than digital DJ controllers. Every tiny movement is detected and immediately sent to the software for seamless signal quality in any situation, the Phase is unphased (see what we did there) with troublesome turntables, rumble and other common issues. The Phase Essential is worth the hype, it lets you enjoy the physical enjoyment of mixing with the ease of a digital DJ controller, you can switch between the two as and when you like and even customise the lights on the remotes to match your decks.

Sneeboer & Zn Old Dutch Trowel This year has been the summer of appreciating what you have at home, with lockdown many people have rediscovered a love for their gardens, with a little bit of time and focus you can turn your outdoor space, not matter how big it is, into a little oasis. Sneeboer & Zn was created by Arie Sneeboer in 1913, a family run business that is internationally known for its high quality, stainless-steel, hand-forged garden tools. What makes these tools stand out is the marriage of old and new design, tweaking only what needs to be improved on equipment that is centuries old. Produced by craftsmen who use traditional hand-forging techniques the company is now preparing for the 4th generation to take over and continue moving from strength to strength. We received the Planting Trowel Old Dutch, which comes with a 22cm Cherry wood handle, 14 x 13cm head making it 42cm in total and weighing 0.45kg. This planting trowel

has been created with ultra-sharp sides and a pointed end that effortlessly cuts through the earth, the wide head can shift a lot of soil in one movement. Designed to be used for planting bulbs, seedlings and small plants it can also help with breaking and turning the soil in flower beds. The sharp edges also make light work of separating smaller perennials and the forged stainless-steel construction means you have a lifetime of service before that edge will become blunt. The handle is a comfortable size for both small and big hands and the extra length makes it easier to reach over plants to get to the back of beds, the flat head prevents other plants from being disturbed. We loved this trowel its feels quality in your hands but if that’s not enough to convince you it might be worth noting that Monty Don (the presenter of Gardeners’ World) regularly reaches for this tool. We agree with the founder when he said, "One who once has held a Sneeboer tool in his hands never wants anything else."

Pros £52.60 Long, comfortable handle

Wide and flat head Forged stainless steel

Sharp edges Versatile Solid construction Personalised engraving (+£5.30)

A high

performing garden trowel that will become a staple item in your shed.

NightSearcher Tri-Spector 3 in 1 Rechargeable LED Inspection Light Kit The Tri-Spector 3 in 1 Rechargeable LED Inspection Light Kit from NightSearcher is part of their automotive range, it comes in a protective, hard carry case with foam padding inserts that keep the light protected when stored in the car boot. As the name would suggest the Tri-Spector has three configurations making it suitable for a variety of situations, the main body has a comfortable grippy surface, a hook attachment on the bottom as well as a strong magnet that can be used to stick the light to the bonnet. The on/ off button is located at the top of the handle, it is rather sensitive and easy to accidentally turn on or off whilst attaching or detaching the attachments. The attachments also take a little force to get them clicked into place but once there they are held securely. The three attachment heads include a flexible light that can produce 80 lumens, the 10inch flexible neck can be manipulated in all directions to get into the tightest of corners. The light head slides forward and backwards to change the diameter of the light circle but only by a small amount. The Spot-to-Flood flashlight can create up to 300 lumens, the head can be

rotated 360 degrees horizontally and 180 degrees vertically. Again, the torch head slides forwards and backwards to change the size from flood to spotlight, this time the size of the light changes more dramatically and a second press of the button will produce less lumens. Lastly the Slimline light and torch delivers up to 600 lumens, it has the same flexibility as the Spot-to-Flood, a second press of the button switches the light from the long strip to the small torch at the end of the attachment. Other features include the battery status indicator, chemicals and workshop solvent resistant finish, IP44 rating, 30m beam distance and 2-10hour run time depending on the setting. When the battery runs down it can be recharged via the included USB charging cable (4 hours charging time) or you can use the included AC Mains Adaptor to carry on working straight away. The Tri Spector is a versatile, rechargeable inspection light, it could be a little more user friendly in terms of the on/off button and attaching the heads but that can be forgiven for the variety of lights it can produce.

This versatile light allows you to look into every nook and cranny of your car.

ReAthlete DEEP4s There is nothing in this world quite like a deep tissue massage, for me the bliss is often ruined by my husband (my budget masseuse) complaining that his hands hurt and that it’s his turn after 2 minutes. When the ReAthlete DEEP4 arrived, I was so excited to see what it could do, the first impression was that it looked rather intimidating, like an electric drill that was ready to beat the hell out of my muscles. The DEEP4 comes with five specialised heads, the Large EVA Ball with Comfort Tip is suitable for large muscle groups and the Small EVA Ball with Comfort Tip is ideal for small muscle groups. The Fork Leg Tip has been created for massaging the muscles either side of the spine, the Cone Trigger Point Tip is for pain point massages and simulates the feel of fingers whilst the Spade Tip is suited for back cervical muscles. This massager has four speed levels between 1200 and 3200 RPM, the Soft Massage can be used on sensitive areas, the Medium Massage is good for pectorals and larger areas whilst the more intense massages feel good on the glutes or back. The massage arm can be adjusted to three different angles via a push of the large button on the side, this helps you reach different areas of the body. The built-in rechargeable battery can offer up to 3 hours

Pros 5 different heads 4 speed levels 3 adjustable angles Up to 3hours battery life on max

on max mode and takes 1.5hours to fully recharge, the massage provides a 12mm stroke to help it break down knots, increase blood flow and release stored lactic acid. An LCD screen lets you know which setting you have selected and can be adjusted via a touch sensitive button. The buttons aren’t super quick in their responsiveness so it can be easy to press it too many times in the beginning. The massage gun is rather heavy which can make holding it at some angles tiring, for back and shoulders it is much easier to get someone else to hold it for you. The different heads are handy, the only one I found I gain little benefit from was the spade tip, it didn’t get into the muscles enough for me but could be useful for more sensitive areas. My only complaint is the handle could be slightly more ergonomic to make it easier to use on yourself, the quality of the massage is great, you can get right into the muscles and pinpoint the smallest of areas. Everything packs away into a high-quality carry case for portability, making it suitable for sports team warmups and recovery sessions, is it worth that great big price tag however, well I guess its cheaper than paying for a massage every week.

Cons Expensive Buttons slow to respond Heavy Handle could be more ergonomic

The DEEP4 provides a deep massage and the five interchangeable heads mean you can get into each and every muscle. For more information on the ReAthlete DEEP4s click here

Kitchen Toaster Long 4 HD+ Slice Speaker Sy Jarre A Tid echnologies AeroSSlot kull A beautiful, versatile and functional toaster.

ystem The first things you notice about a KitchenAid product is the iconic design, bold glossy colours and shiny metal details, which make for a standout kitchen appliance. The Long Slot 4 Slice (5KMT5115BER) comes in three colours, Almond Cream, Onyx Black and the classic Empire Red, it features an extra long and extra wide slot. This slot design means you can fit in standard sliced bread as well as thicker or longer artisan bread or oddly shaped homemade bread. You can toast up to four slices at a time and the handy Bagel function reduces the power on one side by 50% to gently brown the bottom whilst toasting the top. The high lift handle means no risk of burnt fingers whilst trying to retrieve a crumpet or English muffin. There is a button that can be used to toast your bread just a little longer if it isn’t as brown as you like it without committing to another full toasting (which often leads to forgetting about it and burning it). Mornings are often a manic time in most households and it is easy to forget to grab your toast once it has popped up but the reheat button lets you quickly reheat cold toast in under a minute. There is also a button to quickly defrost frozen goods and a cancel button will pop up your toast at any point in the cycle, the six adjustable temperatures let you get toast just the way you like it. All the crumbs are collected in a slide out drawer for disposal with minimal mess. The compact design 200H x 190W x 400D mm makes it easy to store away in a cupboard or leave out in pride of place on the worktop. The plastic construction makes it lightweight and easy to clean, it also means the outside of the toaster remains cool when in use but if you prefer a slightly more premium looking finish there is a metal version available for an extra £24. As expected from a KitchenAid product it performed well, it toasted quickly and the larger slots with that high lift makes it much more versatile for a range of breads.

Pros Extra-long and wide slots

High lift Bagel function Reheat, defrost and top up modes

Six toast settings Removable crumb tray Outside remains cool Toast four items at once Cons Plastic finish might not be to every one’s taste.

Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro It is of no big surprise that during the last year many of us manged to gain a few pounds, working from home and cutting out the daily commute has left some of us with slightly more insulation than we started out with. The Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro from Flexispot joins their collection of products that aim to add some movement into the working day, it comes in the choice of Black or White design and the option of adding a desk top at the point of purchase (£50). This bike comes almost entirely assembled, only the desk needs attaching which takes a few minutes, the seat is adjustable between 752-942mm making it suitable for people 5ft 1in to 6ft 2in. The bike is a bit of a beast at 95.5cm x 59cm" x 88.3cm-120cm and weights 34kg, thankfully there are four 360-degree swivel caster wheels to make moving it around easier (don’t worry they lock out when using the bike), it has a weight capacity of 136kg. The desk has a rubber arm rest that can be adjusted for the optimal height and the seat has a good amount of padding making it much more comfortable than expected, the magnet tension resistance adjusts between 1-8 levels with the higher resistance creating a noticeable burn in the thighs. Even when pedalling at faster speeds the V9 is whisper quiet, ideal for taking calls or zoom conferences, although you can get a slight wobble on the camera when moving vigorously. This cycle claims to be suitable for seated,

Pros Comfortable seat and arm rest Takes minutes to assemble 8 resistance levels Whisper quiet pedals Soft pedals can be used without shoes or sock

Real to feedback of basic stats Lockable 360 degree swivel wheels Cons Need a break after a few hours Not comfortable as standing desk High price tag Desk can wobble slightly during vigorous movements

cycling or standing however it isn’t great as a standing desk, the seat is in the way and it doesn’t feel like a natural position, as we mentioned the seat is comfortable but after a few hours your bum can get a little numb so getting up periodically is necessary. Flexispot also make a range of standing desks which is where the V9 would be best used as it is quite tall and would struggle to fit under most traditional office desks, at the same time you want to be able to stand up now and then. Although it is designed for work this cycle can also be used to enjoy some downtime, place laptop or tablet on the desk to watch a movie, read a book, jot away in a journal, or skip the desk top entirely and use it whilst you watch tv. It is even possible to reach the pedals whilst seated on your sofa if the bike is facing you front on and it can be used like a seated elliptical machine. The display screen gives you real time feedback of distance, rpm, calories burnt and the time spent pedalling, this requires two AA batteries to use the display and can always be used without. The V9 offers a different way to stay active whilst working but it won’t be for everyone, it can certainly put you through your paces if required but we found it is best used on low to medium cycling resistance with an adjustable height or standing desk so you can switch between cycling and standing and keep active whilst working.

£299.99

An alternative way to keep active during traditionally sedentary activities.

Wear Your Waste Madi Halter Top â‚Ź70.00

For more information on the Wear Your Waste Madi Halter Top click here

Wear Your Waste is the perfect name for this company, with a passion for the environment they make clothes from advanced eco materials. Based in Tarifa, Spain, beach life is at the heart of their designs and they take style and nature seriously. They focus on timeless looks that should be loved for ever, using long lasting inks and sun resistant materials and not getting sucked into the ugly world of fast fashion. Their bikinis are made from regenerated fishing nets and other post-consumer waste and made in Italy to keep their carbon footprint low, even their packaging is made from a biodegradable cellulose rather than plastic and the hangtags are made from recycled card. We received the Madi Halter Top to take a closer look at, this reversable bikini features a leafy pattern on one side and a plain black finish on the other. It has a fixed under band that provides a bit of support and an adjustable sliding double lace tie closure in the back and the neck. This closure system is fiddly, it’s worth tying the neck piece first before putting it on as it makes fastening the back easier. Once done up the double laces look nice and help prevent the straps from digging in, the fixed under band means it

is nonadjustable and the cups felt a little too close for me, it might be worth ordering a size bigger than you would normally to ensure more covered fit at the sides. The long straps can be tied in a variety of ways for versatile wear, swopping to a cross back tie for a different look. This top is made from a 78% regenerated polyamide (ECONYL yarn) shell with 22% elastane (Lycra XtraLife) and an 88% regenerated polyamide (ECONYL yarn) lining and 12% elastane. The materials are Ultra chlorine resistant, UPF 50+, Sun creams and oils resistant, opaque and created with a long-term shape retention. The seams and all the materials lay softly against the skin, so whether you are sunbathing, swimming or playing volleyball it remains comfortable against your body. Wear Your Waste are still working towards becoming fully carbon neutral as their stitching is unrecycled nylon and the elastane mixed with the regenerated fabric is not recycled either. The Madi Halter Top feels just like standard swimwear material, if not a little silkier, you would never guess it is made from fishing nets.

A timeless and flattering design made from recycled materials.

Pros Flattering fit Soft Recycled materials Reversable Comfortable Chlorine, sun cream and oil resistant

UPF 50+ Cons Double laces awkward to fasten Sizes run a little small Not 100% recycled materials just yet

Rewire Security 104-Pro Magnetic GPS Tracker

Car crime is on the rise, this is partly put down to the increased use of keyless entry and once your car has left your drive it could be miles away within a matter of an hour, GPS Trackers are a great way of knowing where your car is at all times. The 104-Pro Magnetic GPS Tracker from Rewire Security comes with a pre-configured sim card (pay as you go) making it ready to go straight out of the box. It can be attached to flat metal surfaces such as under a car or even a container thanks to the incredibly strong magnets. The location can then be accessed in real-time, whenever, wherever by using the GPlive cloud tracking software, you can call the tracker via your phone and the tracker will respond by sending you a text message with its exact location via a google map link. To access this service, you will need to pay the monthly subscription of £15 for 3 months, this includes unlimited web software and mobile app use. There are four powersaving modes to choose from depending on the journey it is taking, get live tracking for up to 30 days or 1 update a day will provide up to 4 months battery life. If you have a fleet of vehicles or valuable possessions that need keeping an eye on one at a time it’s easy to swap the tracker around, however if you need multiple trackers, they can be hardwired into any vehicle with a 12v or 24v power supply. Tracking isn’t the only thing this device can do, by sending a text message you can remotely cut the vehicles power and immobilise the vehicle if it is stolen. You can also receive alerts when the vehicle leaves a Geofence Zone, when it exceeds a set speed limit or even if it just moves at all, you can also check back on all the recent alerts triggered and all the routes it has taken over the past 3 months. You can also access more detailed information on a journey including what the vehicle was used for, where it has been and the total mileage it has travelled. Customised reports can be obtained on driver behaviour, mileage and fuel-based telematics. The app is easy to use with clear dashboard to receive the important information at a glance and personalise it to provide the details you need. The 104 GPS Tracker is a highly capable piece of kit, intuitive to use it is great for home security or small businesses. Know exactly what is happening with your vehicle from anywhere in the world.

Bluefin Fitness BLADE 2.0 Rowing Machine With the recent lockdown many of us have discovered that working out at home is actually rather enjoyable and cheaper than most gym memberships and with the avoidance of communal changing rooms it is an easy way to keep fit and boost energy. The downside to having gym equipment in the home is that often it can end up taking up too much space, especially rowing machines which are a great overall body workout. The Blade 2.0 Rowing Machine from Bluefin Fitness gets round this problem by making its rower foldable, with a simple lift and tilt the rower track folds upwards and sits on the sturdy base (74.5cm x 166cm x 51cm), giving back your floor space. The pads on the bottom protect delicate flooring and the feet can even be folded for even more compact storage. Assembly isn’t the easiest, it is best done with two people and some of the components are quite heavy, once put together it feels robust. The ergonomic handlebars are comfortably padded and have a non- slip coating for those sweaty hands, the foot pedal tilts naturally as you work out and the adjustable Velcro strap keeps your feet in place. There is a smartphone/tablet stand so you can track exercise, put on a movie or watch some upbeat music videos, the seat has a comfortable amount of padding for long sessions. There is a backlit LCD display which keeps track of your speed, time, distance, strokes per minute and calories burned, there is also the optional App which will record and share your work out and compete with friends, however it is an occasional struggle to connect it to the rower. The belt drive provides a smooth and comfortable rowing motion with a 10° incline and eight levels of tension to choose from, the top resistance was the max intensity needed for me a moderate exerciser but might not be strong enough for more muscle-bound rowers. The Blade 2.0 is best suited for those looking for low to moderate exercise with limited space for equipment, the app is temperamental and rather limited but it isn’t necessary to enjoy the exercise. All things considered it is reasonable value for money and provides an all over workout, improving cardio and muscle strength all from the comfort of your own home.

Pocketalk Translator English is the third most spoken language in the world however, you can almost guarantee the person you stop to ask for directions on holiday doesn’t understand a word, phrase books are great but only if you want to ask where the library is. The Pocketalk Translator is a dedicated translator with its own built in 2-year cellular data plan that provides coverage in over 130 countries/regions, this means you don’t need to worry if your mobile doesn’t work abroad and risk incurring roaming fees. It also means you don’t have to whip out an expensive smart phone in public where potential thieves might be eyeing it up, from a distance it looks like a basic cheap telephone. Basic and cheap it certainly is not, there are two main functions to the translator voice translation and image translation. The Pocketalk can translate 74 different languages by using the best translation engines around the world making it recognise local dialect and slang, this device can translate 55 voice bilaterally (the sentence is read out in the chosen language), 19 voice-totext bilaterally (the sentence is written on the screen), and up to 37 more obscure languages voice-to-text unilaterally to help you muddle through. The built in camera can be used to take a photo of a sign or a menu for example and it can translate what is written in 55 languages, it will automatically register the language so you don’t need to select it before taking the picture which is handy if you have no idea what language it is written in. The Pocketalk is super intuitive, just follow the on-screen prompts when setting up, then simply select the language you speak and the language you want to translate it into. Press and hold the large button at the front of the device

and speak into the device, the noise-cancelling microphone does a good job at picking out your voice in a noisy room. When you release the button, your phrase will automatically be read out or displayed on the screen, or you can type your phase if needed although the small touch screen keyboard isn’t easy in larger hands. The large screen is bright and clear allowing you to easily show the person you are with, designed for conversations you can speak naturally in full sentences and it can handle up to 30 seconds of speaking per translation. A conversation with someone will always be slightly stilted but it beats attempting mime or sitting in silence. After the two years of complimentary global data is up you can renew the SIM for $50 for another year or you can connect to Wifi or a hot spot to continue using it. The Pocketalk will store up to 10,000 translations letting you scroll through the most popular, “two beers please” for example and tap it to have it read out again. When testing the Pocketalk out it handled some surprising odd sentences with ease, it managed “I want my snake hat back” in Lithuanian, Japanese and Spanish but when I tried “make the Vikings leave my socks alone” it came back “so please see the Vikings to measure my socks weather”. The awkward thing is you will have no idea what you have said so if you receive an offended look it might be worth running it through google translate on your phone to avoid a difficult situation. So, why use the Pocketalk instead of your mobile phone? it’s cheaper to replace than most smartphones if it goes walk about and it doesn’t hold your valuable data, it is also so simple to use, it works in 130 countries, it won’t drain your phones battery and believe it or not, not everyone owns a smartphone.

The Pocketalk is like a superpower you never knew you needed, giving you the confidence to communicate to anyone, anywhere.

Fobo Tire 2

We are all taught the basic vehicle maintenance checks when learning to drive but how many of us remember to regularly check our tyre pressure, you might assume you would be able to tell if your tyre pressure was low by looking at them but this is not the case. The Fobo Tire 2 is the latest tyre pressure sensor from Fobo featuring Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and the Intelligent In-Car monitoring unit. The Tire 2 is easy to set up, it comes with 4 sensors with anti-theft lock-nuts that replace the valve caps, they come in a choice of black or silver and measure up at just 13.8mm x 20.2mm, you can then download the app and connect them to your smartphone. The monitoring unit can be used as a back up alert system or primary if you choose to bypass the App option, this is handy for people sharing cars (although there is a share option on the app) or don’t own a smart phone. The sensors monitor the pressure in real time whilst driving or whenever

the Bluetooth is in range (typically 30m), it can detect both slow and fast leaks, you can even customise the thresholds for each individual tyre. Pressure can be measured up to 800 kPa (116 psi) and it gives you an alert in the absence of a smartphone, it measures the pressure via an algorithm and provides 6 different levels of alerts when the thresholds are broken. The sensors are weatherproof with an IP57 rating, they are powered by a CR1632 which should last up to a year before they need changing, the sensors can be removed with the included wrench and attached to a new car if needed. Multiple vehicles can be attached to one app and multiple users can be authorised to see one set of sensors. The app is super clear, telling you all you need to know at a glance, you can also check in on the mileage covered. Azio Retro Classic Mouse (RCM) Ever see someone’s workstation and say wow, that’s a really elegant looking mouse? Chances are probably not, that’s because essential components like keyboards and computer mice often focus purely on functionality and forgo stylish aesthetics. That’s where Azio decided to shake things up a little and combine technology with standout designs and unconventional materials. The Retro Classic Mouse (RCM) certainly does that with a less is more look and genuine leather finish. This mouse comes with a USB-C charging cable, two interchangeable top covers and USB-RF receiver, the leather top is made from top-grain chrome-tanned leather which is soft and tactile to hold and provides a solid grip even with moist hands. Each leather top is precision-cut, moulded in and has a hand-trimmed finish, it looks so premium that it was a surprise that the price tag isn’t higher. It has a low profile at just 113 x 65 x 34 mm and weighs a comfortable 108g, it can also be used in both the left and right hand. The wheel is made from textured aluminium with an anodized finish for added durability whilst the outer frame utilises alloy metals and precision bolts. The Retro Classic Mouse uses the PixArt PAW3805 sensor can be used on pretty much any surface, including glass and high-gloss material which is lucky as it looks particularly good on a dark glossy surface. The other included top is a rather unimpressive matte black plastic that you might want to use to switch up the look now and then or impress a vegan client but otherwise it will probably just live in a drawer. The mouse can be connected over Bluetooth (device with Bluetooth 4.0 or newer) or the included RF receiver, both are easy to set up but it is worth noting that there is no wired option. You don’t have to worry about the battery letting you down however as the 1000mAh lithium ion will deliver up to four months of use from one charge. The Retro Classic Mouse (RCM) is a solid choice for someone who wants performance and style, it works exactly as you would expect it too whilst adding some sophistication to your work space.

Azio Retro Compact Keyboard (RCK) After checking out the Retro Classic Mouse we have already learned that Azio take design seriously and the Retro Compact Keyboard (RCK) is no exception, where the mouse can fit in with a number of varying styles the RCK has a much more defined look. The first impression is this is what would happen if a vintage typewriter and modern-day computer had a little keyboard baby, its leather and metal combination will appeal to the steam punk community as well as those who enjoy the quirky or vintage look. This compact keyboard measures at 327.80 x 143.20 x 42.04 mm making it slightly thicker than most keyboards, it weights 2495g, it comes in four different designs Posh, Artisan, Elwood and the version we are focusing on, Gunmetal. This wireless keyboard comes with a USB Type-C Cable, Mac and PC Layout replacement keycaps, interchangeable feet, a draw string carry case and thoughtfully designed cleaning brush. The keyboard is evenly backlit with a white light (orange on the Posh design), it has 6-Keys rollover, 5,000 mAh rechargeable battery that will give 9 months with the backlight switched off and 1-2 months with it switched on depending on the intensity. The RCK offers dual connection via either Bluetooth or the USB cable and it is suitable for PC, Mac and tablets (macOS, iOS, Windows, Android). The Gunmetal has a Genuine leather top plate and the included palm rest also features the same leather covering the padding. Each key has a metal frame and produces a deep press, you get this wonderful ‘clicky’ response with each push so it truly has a vintage typewriter feel. The metal frame with exposed screws adds to the overall mechanical aesthetic and finishes off the look perfectly. If I was going to nit-pick, the only issue I could find is that my right thumb hits the edge of the frame around the space bar which could cause some irritation over long typing sessions. We fell in love with RCK, not only does it look fantastic but it has an addictively tactile response and performs admirably and when paired with the Retro Classic Mouse it perfectly combines old and new.

The beautiful vintage style keyboard will become a unique centre piece for your workspace

this double pump is quiet and portable but could use a few improvements to make it more user friendly For more information on the Nuby Double Digital Electric Breast Pump click here

Nuby Double Digital Electric Breast Pump When it comes to juggling time with a newborn baby in tow every second is precious, if you choose to express your milk a double pump will halve the time you spend attached to a machine. The Nuby Double Digital Electric Breast Pump comes with a built-in rechargeable battery that gives 3 hours of pumping away from the wall socket. This pump features 9 levels of stimulation and 9 levels of expressing mode, it encourages milk let down by mimicking the baby’s feeding action and drawing from the breast instead of uncomfortably pinching the nipple. In the box you get the Nuby Double Digital Electric Breast Pump, two Nuby combat colic bottles 180ml with slow flow teats, two bottle cradles, a mains adapter plug, bottle adapter to attach Nuby bottles for collecting milk and a dummy. The touch screen display shows how long you've been using it and what levels it is set at. The gently backlit controls let you see what you need in the night without waking others or blinding yourself and lets you easily adjust the settings as needed. This pump is also quiet allowing you to express next to your sleeping baby or partner without disturbing them, the soft silicone shields provide a comfortable fit. Getting a precise fit takes a little practise due to the angle of the bottle, it is easier to sit up right or tilt forward a little to prevent any accidental leaks so it won’t be ideal for those looking to recline on the sofa or in bed. The pump has to be switched manually from stimulation to expressing which means you have to juggle both the bottles in one hand to reach for the button or utilise a toe. This pump comes apart effortlessly and can be cleaned quickly, the battery and compact size makes it highly portable, the teat can be attached straight to the collection bottle for fast feeding. If you are looking to use this pump regularly the risk of leaks and lack of an automatic switch over to milk collection might become irritating, but if you are looking to express a few times a week to allow someone else to feed baby to give you some freedom it is reasonable choice.

Pros 3 hour battery life

Compact Portable Quiet Backlit touch screen digital display

Simulates natural feeding action

Cons Can leak at some angles

Not as user friendly as some pumps

Browning Spec OPS Edge The first night I stayed in our new house in the countryside I slept for about 30mins max, no one warned me how noisy it would be away from the traffic, police sirens and drunken folk stumbling back from the pub. With the local wildlife entering a competition of who could be the loudest each night I decided to use a trail cam to capture these yobbos and prove to myself they weren’t in fact monsters. The Browning Spec OPS Edge was my weapon of choice with a 20 MP image resolution and invisible, adjustable power “Night Vision” IR illumination that reaches out to 80 ft. This camera also features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD video processor, this means your images can be put on a big screen tv without losing detail. The Edge can take up to a 512GB memory card (not included), the compact case measures up at 5” x 3.5” x 2” and has a camouflage paint job to blend into the surrounds and not spook the wildlife. The set up is reasonably simple, it requires a whopping 8 AA batteries to operate (again not included), although a removable, rechargeable battery would possibly be better you can invest in some high-quality rechargeable AA batteries. The camera has a standard ¼” -20 tripod socket as well as a metal tree mount bracket (tree mount sold separately) and strap, this gives you a range of options when it comes to positioning. The 2” view screen helps you line up the optimum spot to capture animals, you can select the trigger speed (0.2 - 0.7 Seconds), how many images are taken, whether you record videos, how long it

records for and the quality of the images. Other features include the invisible infrared LED illumination, adjustable IR flash (Power Save, Long Range), 80 ft Flash Range, Illuma-Smart technology that automatically adjusts IR flash, Smart IR Video and an adjustable start / stop image timer. You can select up to 8 multi shot images and up to 8 rapid fire images, the programmable Picture Delay (1 sec. – 60 min.) is handy for setting it up just before it gets dark. The images will store the time, date, temperature, moon phase (in case you capture werewolves), the barometric pressure and camera ID, useful for finding patterns in animals’ behaviour. I was really impressed with the images the Edge produced, in daytime they are bright and sharp, understandably the quality at night was reduced but was still clear enough to distinguish the animals baring in mind it was pitch black when it took the photos. The strap and mount held the camera firmly in place even during 40mph winds, I was also impressed it didn’t trigger constantly from plants blowing in the wind and acorns falling from the tree. I was concerned that battery would drain quickly but after three weeks of leaving it on for up to 12hours at a time it is still on 36%. I can sleep well knowing the noises I hear are hedgehogs, owls and rather randomly a Guinea fowl. Waking up and checking the camera genuinely fills me with excitement, this camera is a great way to connect with the nature on your doorstep.

We were really impressed with the range of features and image quality from this trail cam, helping you get to know what’s living in your garden.

DeWALT 18V XR Nailer Twin Kit, 2 X 5AH DCK264P2

two high performing cordless nail guns, suitable for both the home and worksite. For more information on the DeWalt 18V XR Nailer Twin Kit, 2 X 5AH DCK264P2 click here

The DCK264P2 comes with two nail guns, the Framing Nailer and the Finishing Nailer as well as a Tough System Kitbox to store them away, there are two 5.0Ah Slide Pack Batteries included and a multi-voltage charger to power them up. The Framing Nailer features brushless motor technology that has the power to fire a 90mm Ring Shank nail into soft wood and 63mm into hard wood, there are two speeds to work with for different length nails. This nail gun has reduced vibrations and sound for a more comfortable user experience, less recoil for better control, especially over shorter nails. The Sequential operating mode allows for accurate placement and the Bump operating mode is best when speed is important, the magazine can be angled between 30 - 34 degrees and will work with most clipped head, and off- centre round head paper tape or wire weld collated framing nails. The depth of the nail can be adjusted via the thumb wheel depth, the slim body lets the nailer fit easily between a 400mm centre stud and the nonmar contact-trip protects the surface underneath. The tool free stall/jam clearance speeds up the job whilst

the reversable belt/rafter hook aids with storage when not in use whilst keeping it close to hand. A contact trip lock-off prevents accidental dis-charge and the dry fire lockout keeps the nailer from firing without nails in the magazine. The Finishing Nailer (DCN660N) has a compact, lightweight and user-friendly construction, tough enough for worksites, just like the Framing Nailer it has a mechanical operation instead of gas for lower running costs and reliable performance at lower temperatures. It also has Sequential and Bump modes with a production speed of up to four nails per second, there is a thumb wheel depth adjuster, it also has the tool free stall / jam clearance and trigger / contact trip lock-off for the prevention of accidental dis-charge. The cordless design of both these guns allows you to work without being tethered to the wall making it suitable for DIY and worksites inside and out, the two batteries can be switched between the guns which means you can always have charging ready to go. These two nail guns along with that tough and secure KitBox make a great addition to your tool collection.

Fitbit Charge 4

New out this year the Fitbit Charge 4 is an upgrade of the already impressive Charge 3 with the biggest improvements being the built-in GPS and personalised heart rate features. The device itself is modelled around the same design as the Charge 3 with both small and large size wrist bands included (Small fits wrist 140 mm - 180 mm and Large fits 180 mm - 220 mm). The screen measures up at 39.83 mm diagonally and slightly disappointingly still only features a monochrome display, however the display is bright, clear and easy to read even in direct sunlight. The 24/7 heart rate is used to track calorie burn, optimise workouts and discover health trends, it will monitor and report back your resting heart rate and track heart rate trends over time. The heart rate is tracked with an optical sensor, so the accuracy is sometimes questionable at higher rates, resting and lower rates were accurate when tested and even at higher rates it still gives you a good basic understanding of your energy output. The Heart Rate Zones give real time feedback on whether you have hit the Fat Burn, Cardio or Peak zone, giving encouragement to push harder when you need it whilst keeping you from over doing it. The Workout Intensity Map provides an understanding of your efforts during outdoor workouts with a map in the Fitbit app which shows when and how long you were in each heart rate zone. That built-in GPS mentioned earlier will show your pace and distance as well as the map of your workout whether running, hiking, cycling or more, you can finally step out without your smartphone in tow and get accurate data. The downside is the battery will take a hammering, so Fitbit recommend having 80% battery before setting out, this is ok if you only want to track the weekend run but if you are looking to use the GPS daily it isn’t ideal however it only takes 2hours for a full charge. You can select six exercises to quickly choose your most common workout, the Active Zone Minutes shows which heart rate zone you’re in and the Goal-Based Exercises set personal goals for each

workout, then see your real-time progress on screen. If you enjoy tunes whilst working out you can sync up with your Spotify and control music, like songs and browse playlists and podcasts from the Charge 4 (Spotify Premium subscription required). Other features include the Guided Breathing Sessions which give you a moment of mindfulness on screen, check your calls, calendar, smartphone app alerts and text notifications with a glance at your wrist and even send quick replies to messages (Android only). There are also helpful apps like weather and timer (stopwatch and countdown), Sleep Stages and Scores, Fitbit Pay, All-Day Activity Tracking (steps, distance, floors climbed, Active Zone Minutes and calories burned), Menstrual Health tracking and Reminders to Move. The battery can last up to 7days depending on use (up to 5 hours when using GPS) we were getting about 6 days with low-medium use. You can switch out the clock face and chose which details are displayed on the main screen, the screen will automatically link up with the time when you turn your wrist over to look at it, this happens successfully about 80% of the time. The water-resistant body can be taken up to 50m underwater making it suitable for tracking swimming and means you can leave it on in the shower, bath and when washing up. If you are new to the Fitbit app know that it has a reputation of being extremely user friendly, you can personalise your dashboard, link up with community and get the full break down of all your results. The Fitbit Charge 4 has some great updates but we cannot help but feel this was a missed opportunity to rework the design, slim things down a little and add a dash of colour to the screen, however this can all be forgiven for finally being able to leave the phone at home when you exercise. The Charge 4 is just as intuitive as its previous models, best suited for those looking to focus on all aspects of their health with a few handy features to make daily life easier, we also appreciate that price hasn’t been increased either.

You will be hard pushed to find a more comprehensive insight into your health at such a reasonable price, the

Triabeauty Age-Defying Laser The treatments can take a little time and can even be uncomfortable at times but it does seem to produce genuine improvements to the look of your skin.

ÂŁ450 Pros Boost the collagen reproduction Straightforward to use Automatically shuts off after treatment Results seen as early as 2 weeks Salon grade technology FDA approved Contact sensors protect unsuitable skin Cons Treatments can be uncomfortable at higher levels Skin is left temporarily red Treatments can take time

The Age-Defying Laser from Triabeauty aims to fight the key signs of aging by using a laser to promote the natural collagen renewal process in as little as two weeks. Tria has been created with the help from dermatologists and plastic surgeons, the Age-Defying Laser uses the same technology as professional clinics and salon treatments. The laser might sound rather terrifying but it is nothing to worry about we promise, known as “fractional non-ablative laser treatments” it works by sending light beams below the skins surface and essentially lightly damaging the cells there, because your body is a clever thing it then gets to work at repairing these cells. Your body will use collagen and elastin to repair these cells with the aim of the overall results being bright, smoother and younger looking skin. The laser is built into a rather large unit that fits comfortably in the hand and moves easily around the face, it is worth noting it is designed exclusively for your face and not the rest of your body. It is recommended that the Tria is used daily for eight weeks to see the full benefits it can provide. When using the laser your face is divided into four different zones that are targeted individually, you need to dedicate a little bit of time to your treatments depending which level you have it set on, the higher the level the longer it takes. The time can vary depending on how well the contact sensors connect to various parts of the skin, it seems to be less likely to connect to very bony areas of your face (to protect your skin from damage), but sessions mostly lasted 20-30mins max. The pacing beeps will guide you through the treatment and the laser will turn itself off automatically when the full treatment time is complete, it is worth trying to do it at the same time each day to give your skin time to recover from each treatment. You will actually see the best results about 2 weeks after you complete your final treatment, it is important to take a four week rest after the 8 week course for your skin to fully heal and then if you wish you can start another 8 weeks treatment. Another thing to consider is how your skin looks immediately after a treatment, you will go red, especially in the beginning this is why you start on the lowest setting and work your way up. The redness looks like sunburn so it might be best to use the laser just before bed, the Tria Finishing Serum can be used afterwards to cool the skin and prevent it drying out. The treatments tread the line between tickling and an uncomfortable prickling sensation, it is a manageable feeling and never painful, I was surprised by how intense it can feel at times but at least you know it’s doing something. After a few weeks of use my skin appeared brighter and felt a little firmer this might be because I am paying more attention than normal but there did seem to be a more healthy glow, I didn’t notice any dramatic effects on my lines but even with these small changes I have faith there will be some improvement. The Age-Defying Laser requires some dedication and discipline to complete the full 8 weeks but with seeing positive results so early on we are confident it is worth both the money and time.

Polar Unite The Unite fitness watch is one of Polar’s more affordable watches not as packed full of features as the Vantage or Grit X it is more suited for those taking their first steps into fitness or easing themselves back in after a break. When unboxing the watch it was a pleasant surprise to find all cardboard packaging, less plastic in the bin. The watch is a lot more compact than expected too, I have little wrists and often these watches look far too big but the Unite is a good fit. With measurements of 43.4 x 43.4 x 10.4 mm, it weighs just 32g. There are lots of wristbands available to customise your style, we received the Black version which comes with a genuine leather strap with an Alcantara lining that is soft against your skin and has a more traditional look than a chunky silicone strap. The fastening could be more user friendly, it takes a firm press to close it which means pressing into the wrist, the excess strap then threads inside the watch instead of sitting outside which also makes putting it on fussier. The touchscreen is highly intuitive with colour display and one button interface, the screen has IPS TFT, with Ambient Light Sensor (ALS), a 240x204 resolution, the lens is Asahi glass and the case uses glass fibre reinforced polymer for a durable finish. The Unite is powered by a 174 mAh Lipol battery which offers up to 50h in training mode (with wrist-based heart rate and connected GPS) and up to 4 days in watch mode with continuous heart rate tracking, with a mixture of the two you will find yourself recharging every 2-3 days which could be improved. It is worth pointing out the Unite only offers connected GPS, this means it needs to be connected to your smartphone to utilise the GPS whereas other fitness watches in this price bracket do feature built in GPS. Moving on let’s look at what it does do, the Unite will track your sleep quality as well as your recovery

For more information on the Polar Unite click here

from training and stress during the night. The Serene breathing exercise offers a moment of mindfulness, the built-in Precision Prime sensor fusion technology heart rate tracker, this gives you feedback on your heartrate zones and proved to be reasonably accurate (also compatible with Polar BLE heart rate sensors for increase precision). The Fitspark training guide is a handy tool for those looking to kick start a new exercise routine, with personalise ready-made workouts that match your recovery and fitness levels, whilst the Polar Flow app can log all your data where you can review it. There are over 100 different sports available to record and you can add your favourites via the app, the watch can also be set up to display your phones notifications including incoming calls, messages, emails and calendar events. Other features include the Smart Calorie tracking, feedback on your training efforts, the Fitness Test measures your fitness levels via your heart rate, no sweating necessary, the running program offers a personalised plan to get you out in those running shoes. The waterproofing is suitable up to 30m which means you can take the Unite swimming as well as into the shower afterwards. You can share your successes with the Polar Flow Community which helps to keep you motivated and use the app to share your data with your PT or take advantage of the free Polar Flow for Coach service. The Unite offers wide-ranging tracking on your fitness and general health, the strap fastening won’t be for everyone and that lack of built in GPS puts it a little behind other trackers in this range. If you are into your functional fitness and a bit of a stat buff the Unite gives you a lot to play with, the personalised exercises help ease you in and gently encourages you to improve your health.

Lego Harry Potter Diagon Alley

My love for Lego started when I was little with a castle set that came with a dragon and glow in the dark ghost, I treasured it! When Lego collaborated with another obsession of mine Harry Potter, that was it, I wanted them all (and I’m not far off). I thought after the Hogwarts Castle Lego would be hard pushed to produce a more detailed and impressive set, but wow I was wrong, the Diagon Alley is next level. Unlike the Hogwarts Castle however Diagon Alley is regular scale with 14 MiniFigures included, no Microfigures this time around, it has 5544 pieces making it the second largest Harry Potter after the castle and is suitable for ages 16 and up. This colourful row of shops is over a metre long featuring Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour with Mr. Fortescue himself, Scribbulus Writing Implements with quills and parchment, Flourish & Blotts has the charming Gilderoy Lockhart in for a book-signing of his latest publication, Magical Me, with Mrs. Weasley and Ginny standing watching struck. You can find Harry and Ron stood outside Quality Quidditch Supplies checking out the Firebolt, the Daily Prophet sits next door with the newspaper’s photographer out with his camera to capture the latest scoop. The row of buildings is bookended by two iconic buildings,

Ollivander’s Wand Shop with Ollivander and the wand case, designed especially for this set, at the other end is the twins Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes with both Fred and George proudly serving eager students skiving snack boxes and love potions. The details, as usual with the Harry Potter sets are enchanting, the intricate window displays, the shop signs, the owls delivering mail and all the goods inside the shops, there is even the archway to Knockturn alley where Harry accidentally ended up when he first used Floo Powder. A personal favourite is the Weasley’s shop sign with the moving arm that raises the hat up and down and the Quidditch Robe shop dummies in Quality Quidditch Supplies. We won’t give too much away as discovering all the little details is part of the absolute joy of building this set, based around the familiar film sets this is an absolute dream for both Potter fans and Lego fans alike. This wonderful set with its brightly coloured and carefully replicated shops is truly magical, we just have everything crossed that there will be more shop sets to come. Imagine how Eyelop’s Owl Emporium and Magical Menagerie would look or the creepy things you would find in Borgin and Burkes, not forgetting the magnificent Gringotts. Lego we have everything crossed for more bewitching sets like the Diagon Alley.

Muggles and magical folk alike can recreate the enchanting Diagon Alley, both Potter and Lego fans will get a real thrill out of this new set. For more information on the Lego Harry Potter Diagon Alley click here

Fellowes Powershred LX201 Micro-Cut Shredder Dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms have been turning into home offices as of late and you might be missing the equipment you used to take for granted at work. The Fellowes Powershred LX201 Micro-Cut Shredder is an ideal shredder for the home office, it comes in Black and a less attention seeking White design. The compact 52.71 x 25.40 x 35.56 cm size and four wheels makes it easy to tuck away in a corner or under a desk until needed. This shredder has a new IntelliBar that has patented responsive technology for fast and effective shredding performance, it can handle up to 12 sheets in one go and will perform 2599 shreds per sheet. The micro cuts performed provided high levels of security with pieces coming out at 2 x 12mm in size, the LX201 can run for up to 10 minutes at a time before it needs a quick break to reset. The pull-out waste bin can hold up to 22 litres of shredded paper before it needs emptying. The 100% Jam Proof System can automatically detect and power through difficult jobs which means it can work through staples, credit cards, paper clips and junk mail. This machine will also automatically reverse and stop if a jam does occur preventing the machine from becoming stuck or damaged. The Sleep Mode will automatically shut the shredder down after 2 minutes of inactivity to save energy. It is surprisingly quiet for such a high performing machine making it suitable to use in the morning or evenings in a home environment. Another great feature is the SafeSense mode, this will stop the shredder immediately when hand or paws (pets are many peoples co-workers right now) touch the paper entry slot. The LX201 performed admirably, packed with features to be a helpful, secure and safe addition to your home office.

There is loads of evidence that shows sitting at a desk all day is bad for us, bad for our bodies, mind and productivity, thankfully stand desks are available to let you mix things up throughout the day. The Jarvis from Fully is a customisable standing desk made from eco-friendly bamboo and mounted on the awardwinning Jarvis frame. This adjustable height desk can be used in the seated or standing configuration and easily switched between the two throughout the day. The bamboo used is grown without pesticides or fertilizers and has a tough UV-cured, water-based polyurethane coating to finish. The frame has won the best standing desk by The Wirecutter five years in a row, with an impressive lifting capacity of 158 kg, it can drop down low enough for a child to sit at and raise up high enough for a 6’5” person to work at. There are two shapes to choose from, rectangle or contoured and seven desk sizes (all priced differently) ranging from 120 x 80 up to 180 x 80. The wire management grommets can sit at the back left and right corners of the desk and measure 80 mm with 95 mm caps, they come in Black or White and you can choose to have one, two or none. The frame can be Black, Silver, White or Alloy, you can select the Mid Range height (75.6 to 124.5 cm) or the Extended Range 64.2 to 129 cm. The next thing to decide is whether to select a stand adjustment switch or a programmable memory switch, this means you can automatically set a specific height with just one press of a button. Finally, you can select your cable management, there is the option of two WireTamer cable trays, two wire management kits or a clamp mounted power strip, there is also a range of chairs, standing pads and balance board that can be added to the shopping cart at the point of purchase. The Jarvis bamboo desk has a streamlined, minimalist design that will compliment most offices décor, the motor is reasonably quiet when adjusting the height so as not to disturb others around you. The finish is durable enough to prevent scratches or coffee stains and smooth enough for most computer mice to work without a mat. A versatile choice to encourage you to get on your feet throughout the day.

This height adjustable desk can help to get you on your feet throughout the working day.

Enacfire TWS F1

The TWS F1 are compact little earbuds from Enacfire, featuring a Qualcomm chip, touch controls and lightweight design, the ergonomic design lets them fit comfortably and securely in the ear, you don’t really feel them there. There are no over ear or sports attachments, but I managed to wear these out running and they remained in place, the IPX8 rated Nano-coating means they are protected against sweat and light rain. The small carry case doubles up as a charging case, it has a faux leather outer, a handy battery life indicator and the earbuds click into place with a magnetic attachment. The battery life is where these earbuds really come into their own, with a maximum play time of 8hours depending on the sound levels these go way beyond the average earbuds at this price. The powerbank function of the charging case can also be used to charge up phones or other small electronics. Simply use a charging cable to connect the USB port of the case and the other side to the electronic device that needs charge, it can charge up to 2600mAh battery which is nearly iPhone 8 plus's battery capacity. The charging case can then get you from 0-70% in about 25 minutes, you can do this multiple times giving a maximum playtime of 208 continuous hours. Connecting over Bluetooth 5.0 is simple, after the initial pairing it will automatically connect each time and the signal remained stable with zero latency. The F1 has HD Stereo Sound, the sound is reasonably balanced but the high tones give a harsh top volume, the bass is good but doesn’t drown out the mid tones, easily good enough for a jog or commute. The touch control sensors let you change the song, play/pause the music and activate voice assistant, the controls are quite sensitive and it’s easy to skip the song by accident when trying to pause it. If you are looking for a reliable set of earbuds with a healthy battery life then the TWS F1 are a solid choice, comfortable, enjoyable sound with a strong connection.

Baronfig Squire Copper Rollerball Pen

So much of our lives revolves around screens, both work and social lives can involve a lot of time looking at qwerty keyboard, if I was to write more than a page these days, I would probably get hand cramp. However, in making an active effort to become more mindful I have taken to journaling, one idea around journaling is to use a pen and note book dedicated to the act, no notification distractions or internet enticements. There is also something satisfying about physical writing that makes you focus in a way that typing just doesn’t deliver. Baronfig started as a Kickstarter project when two friends wanted to produce high quality stationary for the thinkers out there. Fun fact, Baronfig comes from the symbols for the Greek gods Apollo (Baron) and Dionysus (fig) who individually represent discipline and impulse with the brand aiming to incorporate both behaviours. The Squire Copper Rollerball Pen is a striking writing instrument, a take on their classic Squire pen, shorter than most pens around the house it measures in at 5 inchs long with a 0.4 inch diameter. Forged from copper it has a wonderful weight to it (1.8oz) that feels comfortable in

Pros Beautiful Replaceable inks for

your hands and gives a sturdy grip, the copper will develop a patina with use, which you can either let it wear like a badge of honour or simply wipe it off with a gentle soap scrub. The brand name and a sword (to remind you that the pen is mightier than the sword) are discretely etched at the top of the pen, the pen is subtly wider at the bottom to prevent your fingers sliding down. The twist top action deploys the aluminium tip, writing is an enjoyable experience, the ink comes out smoothly, instantly and at the lightest touch reducing the chance of writing fatigue and allowing you to take down thoughts as fast as they pop into your head. The ink can be refilled (£10 for three) giving a lifetime of use and reducing waste, the shorter length makes it easily portable to take to work?? or invest in the copper pen stand (£19) to display it in pride of place. The only change we would like to see made is the foam inside the packaging, something recyclable would definitely be preferred. The Squire Copper Rollerball Pen is a pleasure to write with and a beauty to behold, this has become my go to tool for journaling and is something that makes this mindful act even more special.

Walkstool Basic Walking in the natural world is wonderful, there is nothing quite like it to raise your spirits, however it is also a form of exercise which means you can end up feel rather tired and need a few moments to recover now and then. Parking your backside on the ground isn’t always an option, thankfully the Walkstool Basic is a lightweight portable stool that can be deployed when needed for a little break. The Basic comes in two different sitting heights the 50cm (675g) and the 60cm (725g), the max load for the 50cm is 150kg and the 60cm will take up to 175kg, both have a seat size of 32.5cm. The seat is made from a black polyester and is approximately 20% bigger than the size of a normal three-legged stool, the legs are matte grey to match the seat and made from a strong but lightweight aluminium. The telescopic legs set the Walkstool apart as it is the only stool in the world with this set up. The legs simply pull out and click into place, the rubber toe caps are slightly pointed, these dig into the ground when you sit on it giving you a stable foundation. The Walkstool steady can also be purchased separately for added stability. When packing down the seat and legs are held? together with a Velcro strap, the legs can be slid back in with a push of the red lock button. When the legs are tucked in, they aren’t locked in place so a vigorous shake, perhaps a small jump down from a rock can result in them sliding out so it is worth storing the stool upside down. The legs don’t even need to be deployed at all, if you have good balance and want a lower seat they can be used as they are giving you two heights to choose from, however the taller option is the more comfortable. The Walkstool basic can attach to the outside of your backpack or be stowed within, a carry strap would be useful to carry by hand and the Velcro strap could also be slightly longer just to make it easier to close. The Walkstool Basic is a handy travel companion, letting you take a break when you need it, if you are looking for longer periods of sitting, fishing for example, the Walkstool Comfort is well worth a look.
