A Roundhouse partnership Sun Apr 3 – Wed Apr 13 TICKETS $9 children/youth/seniors | $11 adults (special $7 rate for Sunday Fun Day! Tickets available in advance, online, and at the door. INFO r2rfestival.org Participate in hands-on animation workshops. Watch the best and brightest international films for children, including animation, drama, and documentary. Feature length and short films will be available for in-person or at-home viewing. Reel 2 Real strives to promote diversity, racial equity, inclusivity, and social justice through film.

SUNDAY FUN DAY!

Sun Apr 10 10-11:45am, Pancake Breakfast 10am-3pm, Short Film Programs 10:30am-2:30pm, Film & Animation Workshops For only $7 per person, enjoy pancakes, animation workshops, and hilarious and zany short films. A highly imaginative program of award-winning short animations, documentaries, and dramas will take you on adventures around the world. Then participate in hands-on animation workshops where you will learn the basics of stop motion animation.

AWARDS PRESENTATION & CLOSING FILM

Sun Apr 10, 3:30pm The Youth Jury presents the awards winners, followed by the screening of the feature film, THE TIME THIEF

SCHOOL PROGRAM REEL FOCUS SHORT FILM PROGRAMS

Apr 4-8, 12-13, 10am and 1pm Not open to the public. Each program of funny, daring and imaginative short films screens twice daily, at 10 am and 11:45 am. Students in grades 4-7 can register through their school by contacting education@r2rfestival.org.

YOUTH MEDIA CONFERENCE

Mon Apr 11 Not open to the public. Students watch a screening of short films on the craft of creating for the screen, followed by a panel discussion to discuss the films they just watched, the craft of filmmaking, and elements of film production. Finally, at the Behind the Scenes Career Expo, students speak one-on-one with representatives from post-secondary schools and potential employers from the media industries (VFX, animation, production…). Students in grades 9-12 can register through their school by contacting education@r2rfestival.org.
