The famous content creator Mai Pham, Or called Mai Phammy by her loyal followers, is on the rise. At only 18, she is building an empire: her clothing line, her youtube channel and even a song are coming up. She was independent from a young age and she is ready to share her advice and her everyday life with her 'Phammily', who looks up to her as a big sister. --How did you start YouTube? I started Youtube when I was 7-years-old. I always watched Youtubers growing up, and that’s really all I had. Youtube was my safe space to go, and I knew at a young age that’s what I wanted to do. So, I started off by using my webcam when I was 7 to record toy unboxings, to me playing games, to singing, and eventually that evolved to volleyball vlogs and high school vlogs. Youtube has just always been with me as I’ve grown up. How did you react when you reached 1-million followers? It didn’t even feel real. It felt like I was still talking to the same audience that I was when I was 13 and back in high school. But it’s crazy to me how big we’ve built this community, and how many people my words can reach now. It just feels like I have a huge friend group. It doesn’t feel like I have a million followers, it just feels like I’m talking to a bunch of my friends. You love to travel, and you started young, what advice would you give to other young travelers? What did you learn during your journey? My advice I would give to other young travelers is to start off small and eventually work up to doing a solo trip, because you don’t want to overwhelm yourself when you’re in a foreign country. You should learn your boundaries and what you’re comfortable with while in the comfort of your own city or town before you go to a foreign country. That way you know how to deal with stress and how your mind works. So, if you run into any issues or complications, it doesn’t ruin your whole trip. Traveling solo isn’t scary, you just really have to be okay with being alone by yourself and your thoughts. 6
7
The previous year has been very impactful on everyone and the discussion about mental health is very important, what would be your advice for someone who is currently struggling? My advice would be that you are in control of your own thoughts. At times it can be harder than others, but you have to realize that if you don’t want to change and you don’t want to get better than no one else can help. It may be a hard thought to process, but you’ve got to get up and make those little changes in your life. And, change those little habits to be the best version of yourself. Whether that be going to the gym, waking up early, or making a to-do list. It’s those little things that will get you up and in a routine. Whenever I feel that I may be getting into a little rut, I notice the pattern and I do little things like this to change it before it gets any worse. You may think that it will not get better, but it definitely will. I used to think that it wouldn’t but now I’m sitting here doing what I’m doing today. I wish I could tell myself when I was younger that it would get better. Because you were independent at a young age, you vividly encourage people to be independent, what advice would you give to someone who wants to be autonomous? I think it just all goes together that you need to be okay with yourself and okay with your own thoughts. With being independent, it also comes with not relying on other people. So, you really have to believe in yourself and your capabilities. Start off by going and doing little things by yourself. Such as going grocery shopping by yourself or going to a restaurant by yourself. It takes time to get comfortable being with yourself, but it’s completely worth it. Besides YouTube and travels, do you have any other passions? So many! I have a passion for cooking, and would love to one day have a cooking show or cooking channel. Also, working out and self-care. Just ‘bettering yourself’ I would say is a passion as well. That ties in along with mental health, and I think the reason why I have such a passion for self-care and working out is because it is what truly helped me get out of hard times. I also have a passion for singing and music in general. I actually have a new song coming out soon! I have so many passions for so many different things, which is what my Youtube channel consists of. Me just living my life doing all the things that I love. What inspires you? What inspires me is knowing that I dreamed of doing the things that I do today while I was in my room when I was younger. Without any of these opportunities or without the freedom to do anything, that I dreamed of traveling the world, pursuing Youtube and making music. Now that I have the opportunity to, I like to live my life to the fullest and take any chance I get. Any upcoming projects? My song is coming out, a clothing collection, jewelry line …so many little projects are in the works!

Mai Pham
The beautiful content creator Mai Pham is our Spring icon for our beauty column. She tells us all her beauty secrets. How did you fall in love with makeup? What I love the most about makeup is that you can really express yourself and you can change your look every single day or every single hour. You can feel like a whole different person all with the power of makeup. What is your favorite makeup item of the moment? My favorite makeup item of the moment is the NYX Brow Glue. Your favorite makeup look? My favorite makeup look is a smokey winged out eyeliner. Your favorite product of all-time? Maybelline Fit Me Concealer What is your skincare routine? My skincare routine honestly switches all the time. Currently, to remove makeup I use the Farmacy Makeup Cleansing Balm, for cleanser I use the Curology Cleanser, for toner I use the Farmacy Deep Sweep Toner, and for moisturizer I use the Farmacy Honey Drop Moisturizer.
Something you always have in your bag? Lip gloss and eye lash glue. My favorite lip gloss to carry around is the Morphe 2 Glassified Lip Oil, and for eyelashes I use the House Of Lashes eyelash glue. Who are your beauty inspirations? I don’t have one specifically, overall a lot of my beauty inspirations just come from TikTok. The best makeup / skincare advice you ever received? The best skincare advice I’ve ever received is to stop using makeup wipes and instead use a cleansing balm, and to double cleanse. The best makeup advice is that the way you do your eyeliner and lashes affects your whole makeup look, so choose carefully. This year has been stressful and challenging. How do you relax? Honestly, this sounds crazy, but my way of relaxation is probably going to the gym. I feel like that is what gets my mind off things and relaxes me, but everyone is different. That’s just what works for me.
How do you see the evolution of your YouTube channel? I don’t really know where it’s gonna go, I kind of just take it day-by-day and see where my life is at. As I grow up, I’m gonna take my Youtube channel with me. I don’t know where I’ll be in 5 years so I guess we’ll see.

HADAR CATS Photographer: Alon Shafransky -@AlonShafransky Stylist: Nastya Lisansky - @NastyaLisansky Hair: Lior Gavrielov - @LiorGavrielov Make up: Noga Tamir - @Makeup_By_Nogi_t Producer: Yoav Davis - @YoavDavis The bubbly actress Hadar is the new actress who is promised a brilliant future in the industry. Playing the role of Emma in the movie ' My Dad's Christmas Date', and it's only the beginning of her career. Hadar is also a passionate soul. She's been horseriding since she was a kid. Besides being a talented equestrian, she is also a vegan who cares deeply for the animal cause. We can't wait to see what the future holds for her. --Where did you grow up? I was born in Israel but moved to Rome, Italy when I was 3 years old, where I have lived since. How did you realize you wanted to be an actress? I’ve always been very performative and theatrical, it was always something I was drawn to, but I didn’t really consider acting as a potential profession and career until I was 16 and did my GCSE drama exam. You played in the movie ‘My Dad’s Christmas Date’. How was the experience as your first major motion picture? It was genuinely the most amazing experience ever. I had so much fun filming and working creatively with all the many departments that it takes to produce a film. It’s such a unique experience and you create such a tight bond with so many people as you’re working with them for 12 hours a day. How was the casting process? I was lucky to have the producer, Philippe Martinez, see me in another role, and he invited me to audition for the role of Emma which was super exciting and I’m so grateful to him for the opportunity. What was your favorite memory of filming? It would probably have to be filming the incense scene… Olivia and I couldn’t stop laughing and a lot of the scene ended up being improvised and used in the final cut of the film, which is always nice.

Are you a typical Christmas movie type of person? Yes! I love feel-good Christmas films, my favourite probably has to be ‘Love Actually’. It’s just too good, and my crush on Hugh Grant reignites each year I watch it. Do you relate to your character Emma? Very much, she’s very outgoing and extroverted and I am too. She’s also very opinionated, which I can relate to, but she’s definitely cooler than I am. As your Instagram bio says, you are an equestrian. Where does the passion come from? My mum used to ride, and I began as soon as I was able to. I started riding when I was about 3, competing when I was 7 and I haven’t stopped since. Horses are such interesting and complex creatures and working with them is one of my greatest passions and something I’ll never stop doing. You are also a vegan. Which advice would you give to someone who wants to be vegan but doesn’t know where to start? I was vegetarian for a year before becoming vegan, so I think that gave me a good introduction into meat alternatives and making sure I have a balanced diet. As far as veganism goes, since it’s something I so strongly believe in, it wasn’t hard for me to read and research my different options. What inspires you? My mum inspires me and teaches me so much about being hard-working, determined and independent. Any future projects? I have a few exciting things coming up so be sure to follow me on all social media platforms @hadarcats to keep up!

Nathanya Alexander Interview and words: Lyna Allet Photo Credits: Emily Assiran
We all remember Nathanya in 'Ocean's Eights' with some of the greatest actresses. She is now on the critically-acclaimed show 'Generation' on HBO, and her performance as Arianna, is breathtaking. She talks with us about the beginning of her career, her role in the TV Show, and what she is up to next. ---
How did you get into acting? I grew up in the late 90s and I was heavily influenced by that era. I remember watching Angela Bassett in “Waiting to exhale” and was mesmerized by her performance. That sparked my interest. You play Arianna in the new HBO show: ‘GENERATION’. Can you summarize the storyline for the readers? Generation is a modern take on sexuality and identity. The show follows a group of high school teenagers as they navigate their lives: the funny, messy, fluid, confusing and emotional journey of it all. Arianna is a young free-spirited woman with two gays dads, and she finds herself falling for Nathan. Was it a challenge to play her? The first thing that I do when I get a role is try my hardest to get to the core of a character and try to understand them on a deeper level. All of the work I did creating this character made it very easy to tap into her essence. Are you similar to her or are your polar opposite in terms of personality? We are polar opposites. As soon as I got the role, I created playlists, did research, dissected her scenes and made a journal for Arianna. I was excited to do the work, its one of my favorite parts of the process. It was fun to attack a character that is so different. GENERATION is a much-needed TV show that speaks freely about modern sexuality. What were your first impressions of your character and the show in general when reading the script? When I first received the scripts I remember laughing out loud. The script had me hooked from the beginning. I was truly invested in each character. Arianna is not your average character, so that in itself made me fall in love with the role. 18
19
)Why is the show important and open the conversation for today’s generation? Generation centers around queer youth navigating their lives in a conservative community. Each character is unapologetic and walks to the beat of their own drum. The show contributes a lot to the conversation. 7)What would you expect people to feel while watching the show? All the feels. The show takes the audience on a journey. 8)You played in the movie ‘Ocean’s 8’ and you played Veronica, the little sister of Leslie ‘Nine Ball’, the character played by Rihanna. How was the experience on set, and most importantly, how was it to play with the one and only Rihanna? The experience was so fun! I got to be a part of a really dope cast. Acting alongside Rihanna was a dream. 10)What would you say to your past- self? “You’re doing great sweetie” 11) What are your next projects? I have some really exciting things coming up. Looking forward to it. 20

Berry
Interview and Words by Lyna Allet Photo Credits : Ryan Baker Michael Judson Berry is the comedian you need to know about. After his famous impressions on TikTok of Moira Rose for ‘Schitt’s Creek’(Catherine O’Hara), he is set to be a future name in the industry.
22
How did you started your impressions of Moira Rose (Catherine O’Hara) for QuaranTea Time on TikTok? I obviously love ‘Schitt’s Creek’,I’ve seen the show, And my friends are all big fans so when we hang out we do impressions of all of them, but I consistently heard that my Moira was pretty good, and right before LockDown I did an improv show and people thought it was hilarious. So when we went into lockdown, I was like ‘If I want to do something now it’s the time.’ And she always drinks tea on the show, and I was like ‘What if Moira drinks her tea and give her specific point of view of life in quarantine ?’ And it was fun, at first I was improvising, putting a wig on my head that I borrowed from my roommate, and then just start to riff into the camera about certain topics. And it did well ! How was it received from the public? It took off quite quickly. Which was a surprise, because I know nothing about social media, I’m such an old man. It started I thought it would be a joke with my friends. And the the second video I did I put on Instagram and it got a few thousands views and that blew my mind, I was like ‘Are you joking?!’. So from there it just started going and going. Right around the election and holiday time I did a couple videos that really blew up and then I got even more followers ! Yeah it’s been a pretty consistent build since the second video, Which is crazy ! Catherine (O’Hara) noticed your work, how did you reacted? : A friend sent me the article where she talked about me. I was walking to meet a friend for like a socially distanced walk of course, and I almost walked into traffic, I was so shocked. I literally almost died ! It was so exiting because I was such a fan of her, even since way before ‘Schitt’s Creek’, I’ve loved her forever. It’s like Albert Einstein walking up to you and be like ‘You’re really good at maths !’. She’s been such a hero. I didn’t think she would see them, let alone liked them. And go out of her way to say they’re funny and that my writing is funny ?8 I was floating amongst the stars all day long. How you passion stared for acting? : I started acting when I was really young. I did my first show when I was six. I think I was hyperactive and my parents were like ‘for the love of God get out of the house !’And my mom loves theater and they took my sister and I to see a production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and I thought it was the most magical thing I’ve ever seen. I auditioned for the production of ‘The King And I’, got it and I had a tiny little part but it always got a laugh and I thought it was the most magical feeling. And I’ve been doing it ever since. And usually doing comedies just because I love to be goofy and funny and I love making people laughs! You have been on multiple plays, especially ‘Monty Python’s Spamalot.’ As ‘Patsy’. How was the experience? That was a real dream come true. I’ve grew up watching all the Monthy Pythons films, sketches… They were a huge influence on me as a comedic actor. It’s all their best bits. And music and dancing. And getting Patsy, he’s a great character, he’s always on stage almost the entire show but usually watching. So I’ve got to watch my brilliant cast almost every night. But then I get the big punchline at the end of the show and I get the the big main song which is always the bright side of life. And to tour a show that I love so much and to bring it all over North America , it was just incredible. Since they have such a big following we’ve been singing on stage and the audience would sing along with us. It was wonderful. And my cast they were the nicest people. So if I have to be lockdown on a bus with twenty-two other peoples , for a year, at least it was these ones. Because they were really nice.
23
You starred in the movie ‘MilkWater’, can you tell us more about your role, was it challenging to play? It was this lovely movie, about this young women who feel lost, all her friends are adulting, much better than she is. And she choses to become a surrogate for these older gay men, very rashly, thinking than maybe having a baby will change her life. She’s helping this other person by giving him his dream of having a child. The movie follows her over the course of her pregnancy and I play her friends boyfriend named Teddy. Which was originally a much smaller role and the more we shot the film, the bigger it got because the director thought I was funny. Thank God ! He’s sort of the eyes outside their little friends group. He’s sort of the one being the voice of reason. He’s just very sweet and happy to be there. I love to play such positive, happy characters. The challenge is that we shot it in the Winter and Teddy wears very shorts shorts and it was freezing ! It’s your first feature film, would you film again or are you more a play person? I’d totally film again. I always thought I was much more of a theater person because I love to play to an audience and obviously hearing applause is very nice. And I love filming because you can flop a line and they’d be like ‘Oh we’ll do it again !’. I love how collaborative it is, because I do my thing and the sound guy, lighting guy… I think we all a part of a big team. So it that way it took a little bit of stress off me as an actor, because there’s so many other people involved in just making a shot. So I just relaxed and did my job as an actor. I loved it. I would totally do more films. Judging by your TikTok, we can see that you are a fan of comedy and you want to be a part of SNL, can you tell us more about it? I’ve always loved playing big characters, doing accents, wearing crazy costumes… And I did a lot of improv comedy. And SNL is the pinnacle of all of that. And especially working on this ‘Quarantine Tea Time’, now that I have written so much of my own sketches. I would love to work on SNL or shows were I can be on the writing team, coming up with characters and sketch ides and performing it as well. I would love the chance to play such a wild variety of characters. SNL is sort of a dream for all those things I’ve geeked on. You recently talked about the Imposter Syndrome and how to fight it, did you had an imposter syndrome? MJB: Oh for sure, I feel like I’m the definition of Imposter Syndrome. Like I said, I know so little about social media, I did’t even had twitter. So this world of social media out of my comfort zone. And blowing up TikTok and these platforms was purely an accident. And I’ve met influencers where that’s their jobs and their goals and they are very serious about it. And for me I just created a show in my kitchen , with wigs ! I don’t know how to use social media, I don’t know how these things works. And yet, I’m still doing it ! Of course I’ve felt it a lot of time, like ‘ Do I have a right to be here?’. But how I deal with that is that I say ‘No!’ . I’m writing things that I care very much about, and I’m doing works I’m very proud of. Staying honest to myself and not trying to ‘fit’ through a mold helped me, I guess. Do you have any advices for a young person who wants to start in comedy? Finding your own voice. Making it your own. Even tho I do imitations of Catherine O’Hara, it’s my take on this character. So my advice is, look at the Greats, see what they did but find your version of stand make it unique to who you are and don’t try and copy somebody else. Never lose your perspective because it’s special and what makes you funny.

Olivia Rose Keegan
Interview and Words by : Lyna Allet Photographer : Nicolas Bates Hair : Hailey Adickes Stylist : Jamar Hair MUA : Ashley Donovan Olivia Rose Keegan is an actress on the rise who can most recently be seen in “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.” The young woman from San Rafael, California, knew she wanted to pursue her dream career at a very young age: “I woke up one day when I was about 10 and decided I wanted to pursue on-camera acting. I talked to my parents about it, and they thought it was another one of my phases, because I did go through a lot of phases. About a year later, every single day I would get off the school bus and say ‘Mom! Dad! School is getting in the way of my career!’ After much begging, I guess six months later, they said ‘Fine! You’ll do it yourself, though. So I went online, and I found myself an agent in San Francisco. I wrote her a letter, and she ended up signing me and sending me down to L.A. Once my parents started taking me seriously and realized it wasn’t just a phase, they’ve been supporting me ever since.” Going on long road trips for castings back and forth every week, her parents are in fact very supportive! When I mention this, she laughs and agrees with me: “I know, I am so lucky! I’m thinking: I don’t know if I would do this for my child! I was only ten years old, so of course, they thought it was just a phase. I don’t know how I was so lucky. Consistency is key I guess.” Olivia was right about believing in herself and her talent. Because ten years later, she is starring in the show “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” the soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” and she is a Daytime Emmy Winner! She still can’t quite believe it: ‘“It still hasn’t kicked in! It takes me five minutes to go through the mentality of what that means, and then I start crying tears of joy. It feels like a fever dream.” Olivia, who worked hard to get where she is, is one of the most passionate actors I’ve ever met. Grateful for everything that comes her way, she is inspiring and inspired by her peers: “Some people just have that thing, and it’s what makes the great, great. Lately, I’ve been trying to study those greats and study what is the common thread between all of them that makes them like that. I want to crack the code, which I might never do because everyone is so original and so wonderful and talented in their individual categories. However, it’s a question that I’ve always had—what differentiates a great actor, from a brilliant actor?” 26
27
Olivia, who is a brilliant actor, is on her way to becoming one of the great ones. She is a hardworking actress, who has played on both TV shows and soap operas, and the difference between the two is huge: “I’ve learned most of everything that I know. It was the best experience in the world. I was just reflecting on this, on soap operas, at least on ‘Days Of Our Lives,’ we filmed 65 scenes a day, and about 200 pages a day, and on ‘HSMTM: TS’, we filmed around 14 a day, on an average day. Soap operas are an entirely different animal, and you don’t have time to rely on anything other than your instincts. It really pushes you to your limits, because you don’t really know what you’re capable of until you have reached your limits.” In “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” Olivia plays Lily, a competitive and driven girl ready to risk it all for a role in the Musical. Before all, working in the High School Musical franchise is a dream come true: “I’m kind of working on my dream project right now, on High School Musical. The season is now wrapped, of course, but that was so wonderful. High School Musical, the franchise itself, was always in my life and now being a part of it is just mind-blowing.” When asked if she relates to her character Lily, she hopes not: “Hopefully Lily and I are not too similar because she is a very difficult girl. We are both very competitive, but the difference is that Lily is competitive with everyone else and tries taking down the people around her, while I’m just competitive with myself, or I’m trying to be. Comparing yourself with everyone else is just an endless black hole that doesn’t lead you anywhere.”

Playing such a competitive character would seem to be challenging for a young actress: “I think every new role comes with a set of challenges, but I just had so much fun. I love the process so much; I love going into every character, coming up with my theories while looking at the script and thinking, ‘I was right about that!’ That was always very fun for me. It’s very challenging for these difficult characters—to justify everything you’re doing, because you have to get behind everything they are doing even if they are bad or mean. Lily is a troubled young girl, but it’s always a fun process.” Playing in a musical also means that Olivia is a talented singer. Olivia has it all, but for now, she is only focusing on her acting career. But, it’s not a farewell. Being on the show means that she is combining her two passions: music and acting. And for now? It’s enough: “I’m excited to see what the future holds. Right now I’m auditioning and putting my hope into the auditions I get, and I love the process.” A bright future is in sight for the talented Olivia. We sure can predict a lot more awards for her breathtaking performances. We are just ready to see it.
