Edito Dear readers, here we are for the last issue of 2018. We hope that this year spent with us pleased you as much as we did. We would like to thank everyone who contributed directly or indirectly to the development of the magazine. Stylists, photographs, hairdressers, makeup artists, publicists, talents, and of course you, readers who are constantly growing everyday. You give us the strength to continue and to surpass ourselves even more. To improve ourselves better and by fear of not having so much time to do a full and pleasant to read magazine, we decided to move to a "every three months issue". To allow you to have more talents, more articles and more content in general, we'll publish one issue per season. By doing this, you'll have at least one article about the Paris Fashion Week on every issue, where we are very lucky and grateful to go. We hope that this change is not bad news for you and hope that you'll like even more our next issues. Thank you for sending us messages about your opinions on the magazine and about who or what you would want to see on it, we read everything and try to do our best to improve the publication everyday. We hope that you will enjoy the next issue, which will be out on march, but don't worry, you can follow us on social medias if you still want to see contents. We'll finish by wishing you very good holidays, a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. See you next year dreamers ♥ Cerena Hammana & Lyna Allet

Violett Beane PHOTOGRAPHY BY HEATHER KOEPP

Violett Beane is best known for her role as DC Comics superhero character Jesse Quick on The CW series “The Flash”. In addition, she was recently seen recurring as ‘Lily Kendall’ on the Fox medical drama series, “The Resident”, and co-starring alongside Lucy Hale in the Blumhouse/Universal Pictures horror film, “Truth Or Dare”

. . . . . How did you get started acting? What or who inspired you to become an actress? I started acting when I was in High School. I went to a performing arts school and I auditioned for all the plays and was in almost all of them. So, I knew I loved acting. When it came to senior year, I realized I didn’t really want to go to college necessarily at that point in time. So, I found a local agent in Austin, Texas, which is where I’m from, and just started sending in taped auditions for film and television. It started taking off and I ended up moving to Los Angeles. You played Jesse in the TV show The Flash, what can you tell us about her and in what that role was important to you? Jesse Quick is one of the speedsters. In the series, she is the daughter of Harrison Wells and is a superhero in Earth 2. Jesse is such a badass character and I had so much fun playing her and putting on the super suit. The biggest impact was just honestly how much I learned. You learn something different from every set but with The Flash, I was really just learning the basics

and what it meant to be on a high-production television show and working with that great cast and crew. Also, the fans were just so supportive and loyal from Day 1 and that has been so amazing to experience. You also played Markie Cameron in the movie "Truth or Dare" alongside Tyler Posey and Lucy Hale. Can you tell us more about it? The movie revolves around a group of college students whose Spring Break takes a turn for the horrible after they're lured into a cursed game of Truth or Dare. Filming was an amazing experience. The cast became very close and Markie was interesting character to play especially because I had to go blond for the role. So it was fun to be blond for a few months. What made you want to play in this movie? The script. I think what's really great about this movie is how much you're able to care about the characters. I think an issue that a lot of horror films come up against is that they don't dive deep enough into the people, so when they die, no one really cares. But with this movie, each and every character has something that they're holding onto or something that, you know, makes them unique that the game ultimately uses against them. So you really get to dive into these people and see why they say and do the things they do right before they die. Do you have a preference between movies and TV shows? And why? I don’t! I think they are both great mediums. If I could go and back forth with projects, I would be very lucky.

Do you prefer to play on supernatural shows like Flash or more realistic ones like The Resident, and why? I love doing both honestly. With The Flash, it is such a huge production and you learn so much about the technical side of filming. With The Resident, I focused on my craft and really dug deep into what was happening with my character and her sickness. I have been fortunate to been able to do such a variety of roles and sets in my career. This fall, you play Cara in the TV show "God friended Me", can you tell us a little more? God Friended Me is about an atheist who gets friended by someone calling themselves God on Facebook. He ignores the request because he doesn’t believe in God and he thinks someone is messing with him. Eventually he accepts it and he starts getting these friend suggestions for people. He sort of ends up being a change in their lives. I play Cara Bloom, she’s an online journalist and she ends up being one of the friend suggestions that Miles gets. In the pilot, you see that she struggles with the fact that her mother left when she was really young. She came to New York in search of her and she’s actually found her, but she doesn’t

8

really know how to take the next step. That’s when Miles and the God account enter. She then decides to stick around after they’ve helped her. Each week, there is a new “friend suggestion”. On instagram, we can see some pictures in partnership with Peta. Why is this association is important to you? I've always had animals growing up and been surrounded by pets. I had a dog, a cat, four chickens; and now I have a bunny and a dog. I've always loved animals; and I think that it's sort of our duty to show compassion to them. And a couple years ago, I just decided that I didn’t need to eat meat and became plant based. I think that our meat industry and our agriculture industry is so messed up right now, and I just decided I didn't want to be a part of it. And I feel so much better since. I did a PETA campaign called "All Animals Have The Same Parts”. And whether it's human or a cat or a pig, or whatever it is, we all deserve the same amount of respect. And I think that the way that we treat our animals, and the way that we raise animals to be killed, can be a correlation to how we treat each other, and how we see each other as human beings.

You play Ella on the show Lucifer, can you tell us more about it? What are the common points and your differences with her? Ella is such a fun character! She’s not judgmental or self-conscious and just wants to hug people and spread love. She’s a bright light and never has ulterior motives. She’s a great friend to Chole and loves Lucifer like a big brother. One of the things I love most about Ella is that she’s a great role model for young girls because she’s a brilliant scientist who represents woman in STEM. I also love that they call her the “Avatar of the fans” because she’s very relatable and a total Deckerstar shipper. As far as similarities between Ella and I, we both love to dance and see the best in people. We have lots of energy and talk waaaay to fast. We’re both goofy and nerdy, but Ella is definitely a lot smarter than I am lol. How would you like Ella to evolve on the next seasons? In Season 4, Ella has a crises of faith. She starts to question if God exists and why an all-loving God would allow terrible things to happen. What can you tell us about the season 4 of Lucifer? There’s more butt … literally. We see Tom Ellis’ bare ass (which looks GREAT btw) because we’re on Netflix now and have more creative freedom. The season deals with the emotional aftermath of Chloe seeing Lucifer’s devil face, and introduces fun new characters like Lucifer’s first love Eve and Amenadiel’s little sister Remiel. I think this might be our best season yet. Can you tell us about your new movie coming up next year « El Chicano »? El Chicano is a dark, urban-inspired superhero movie about a mysterious barrio vigilante knows as El Chicano

star ring Raul Castillo and George Lopez. I play the female lead Vanessa who is a college-educated Latina from the barrio who comes back to teach the kids in the neighborhood she grew up in. She’s Diego’s rock and the voice of reason in the film. El Chicano will be out in theaters March 22, 2019. Do you have others projects coming you can talk with us? Yes! I just joined “The Addams Family” with Charlize Theron, Oscar Issac, Chole Moretz and Bette Midler. I play “Denise,” who assists the supervillain (Allison Janney). I’m proud because I added Spanish and the director kept it. So, now Denise is an olive-skinned Latina and there will be Spanish in the movie when it’s released worldwide October 2019. I’m also writing a few things; a graphic novel with AJ Brooks (who wrote New York Times Bestseller “Crazy Is My Superpower”) about a Latina superhero, a singlecamera comedy and a horror movie. What would like to see more in Hollywood, on movies or tv shows? I’d like to see more females leads in movies and more female action films. I’d LOVE to see more romantic comedies with diverse casts like “Crazy, Rich Asians.” And, I’d especially like to see more woman of color as writers, producers and directors. Do you have important cause to your heart you would want to talk about? Yes! One of my favorite charities is MOSTE (Motivating Our Students Through Experience). MOSTE mentors and empowers girls from underserved areas of Los Angeles to become the next generation of collegeeducated woman. I’m actually directing their fundraising video this year so I’m really excited.

A road-trip in America By Lyna Allet.

During October, I had the chance to make a road trip with my family in west America during 2 weeks. From San Francisco to Los Angeles while going through Las Vegas, I'll try to tell you about my trip as I experienced it.

fun to do than taxi! With a breathtaking view of the entire city and the ocean. This is one of the things I liked the most about the trip.

Cities

- Pier 39. It is a small jetty converted into a shopping center, a nice little place, with stalls like cabins and succulent restaurants. You can also see sea lions on the west side of the wharf.

San Francisco. The first leg of my trip is San Francisco. I must admit that it was the city that gave me the most desire to visit with its happy atmosphere and pleasant lifestyle. And I was not disappointed. The city is very relaxing, quite sweet and yet ... you have to climb a lot! Some neighborhoods, the most famous when you think of SF, are neighborhoods that are high, especially the best known Lombard Street, a street all in zig-zag, with very pretty painted houses of all colors, with hydrangeas that adorn the street. This street is probably the best known of San Francisco and also the most beautiful. Well known neighborhood in San Francisco because huge and beautiful: Chinatown. This district is the largest Chinatown in the United States, shops everywhere, gourmet stalls and typically Asian products. It is a very interesting area to do and I really enjoyed it. And finally, last but not least, the Golden Gate Bridge. The famous Red Bridge, symbol of the famous basketball team, the Golden State Warriors, bridge connecting San Francisco to the city of Sausalito. It is the symbol of San Francisco. For a more rewarding experience, I advise everyone to do it by bike. It can go faster than walking and it's more

26

Others areas to go.

- Castro. The cradle of the LGBT + neighborhood. A colorful city, Victorian style houses and multicolored flags everywhere! A place I really loved. - Alamo Square. A rather small neighborhood, but very famous thanks to the houses, the Painted Ladies. A fairly small neighborhood but very essential! - Restaurants. Trattoria Pinocchio, 401 COLUMBUS AVENUE San Francisco CA 94133 Napa Valley Burger (Sausalito), 670 Bridgeway, 94965 Sausalito Small tip(s): San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the world. So be very careful about your budget (plus taxes that are not included in the price.) Because of the Indian summer, the month of October will be much warmer during the summer holidays! So if you come in August take a big coat, but if you come in October, a jacket can suffice.

Las Vegas. Oh there, Las Vegas, aka Sin City. The city of sin. For starters, I'm not 21 yet so I didn't play the two days I stayed. Yes, I know it's sad but I'll come back Vegas. The most important things in Vegas are the hotels. I'm talking here about the center of Vegas, the well-known image that we have when we think of the city. Each hotel has its own universe and is entirely in the theme. The best known is the Caesars palace. The Caesars Palace is a hotel with an antique floor-to-ceiling style. Literally. There are gilding and marble everywhere, rooms to play in all the corners and there is even a shopping center in the hotel. Yes, yes, another great feature of Vegas. But the result is very beautiful and also very successful. That's what you expect when you think of Caesars Palace. I unfortunately did not sleep at this hotel but went to the equally famous, New York, New York. In the hotel, just like its neighbors, casinos everywhere. But, no shopping centers in sight, only shops and decorating like the Fifth Avenue. The result is quite bluffing because we really feel to be there, with decorations as worthy as the city. And outside, skyscrapers, the satire of freedom and even the Empire State Building. Small peculiarity of the hotel, there is a roller-coaster. To have done it, it is quite impressive. We are put in a car that is the replica of a yellow cab and we are slender, with a splendid view of the city. It was pretty fun and

must to do, but to be honest, two days are enough because the city center is quite small, the tour is quickly done. Other activities to do. - The fountains of Bellagio hotel. They are activated every 30 minutes and the result is very impressive. It's illuminated, choreographed, a Las Vegas must-see. - Downtown Las Vegas. A small hall with the inside of the city's excessive size. Very quick to do but very fun because filled with people in disguise and shops of all kinds. It's not necessarily essential but it's worth it. - A show. Whether it's a concert or a show, the Vegas show is very famous. I unfortunately couldn't see one but my family went to see The Cirque du Soleil and they loved it. As important as seeing a Broadway in New York. - The "Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. There is a long line in front to take a picture, but here we are talking about the symbol of Las Vegas! The essential of the city. - Restaurants. Breakfast at Chin-Chin Cafe & Sushi, NewYork Hotel, NewYork

Los Angeles. To be honest, Los Angeles is a city that I found really overworked and I really wanted to see before judging. And I was very pleasantly surprised. I went to Santa Monica and loved every second of the trip. Los Angeles is also a very big city so, you have to do everything by car. I went to the famous Venice Beach, and it's awesome! A gigantic beach, a mini "fun fair" (where there is the famous Ferris wheel) and also a skate park with very talented skatters! I stayed only two days too but it was really intense. If you are going to LA one day, Santa Monica is really the area I recommend! For shopping, there is DownTown Santa Monica, with stores as far as the eye can see. For having done it in the evening, it's a pretty relaxing and very pleasant walk. Other activities. - The beach promenade. to admire the palm trees, beach huts, but also have a drink on the many terraces. - The planetarium. As in LaLaLand movie, the planetarium is a beautiful place where we can observe the Hollywood sign (quite small and also far enough but it's still coolto see.) - Hollywood Boulevard. The famous avenue with all the stars on the ground. This street is quite long so if you want to see a particular star, remember to inquire about the address before. (Personally I made my family crazy because I wanted Drew Barrymore at all costs and it took forever to find it) - Universal Studios. Done during Halloween, it is a park that I loved visiting, it is very well done. There are especially the Simpsons or Moi, Despicable Me. Few roller-coaster but a lot of simulations. Restaurants. Roku Sushi, 8445 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048 National parks. As you can imagine, I did a lot, a lot, a lot of road. So, I went through a lot of parks. The first one I did was Yosemite. Yosemite is a natural park located in California. I did it coming out of San Francisco. It is a park with natural waterfalls and huge

30

trees. I did not stay three days on the spot, it's really a day. In general you drive around, you can stop to go for a walk in the forest to see the trees closer and if you're lucky, you can even see wild animals such as deers or even bears! There are the famous waterfalls that are very impressive and beautiful to see. After the cities, Yosemite Park is very relaxing to see. It is a park that I loved but I admit that it is not my favorite. But of course, I highly recommend it if you go to California. Death Valley. The Valley of Death was one of the things I liked the most about my trip. There were no special sites, just a long road stretching from California to Nevada. So you understand that I saw the Death Valley just before Las Vegas. In fact, since it is a desert area, the best is not to go during July-August because it is much too hot. October is the ideal season. We stopped sometimes to see around, but the most beautiful is when there is nothing else in front of you than the desert valley. It's an inexplicable feeling and just thinking about it makes me want to go back. If you stop at the right places, you can also see badlands, which is also a must. The best part of my trip was probably to stop on the deserted road, with a breathtaking sunset. That's the thing I'm begging you to do if you go through California and you love the desert landscapes. Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is no longer to present. World famous site is the jewel of the United States, I wanted to do it with impatience and I was not disappointed at all. You may know that you can even go canoeing and other activities down the Grand Canyon, in the waterways but unfortunately I didn't do it. I stayed upstairs for the equally spectacular sight which is also the best known when you think of the Grand Canyon. Mountains with sublime colors that really give the impression of being in America. Also, if you stop at the right place, there is a tower with different points of view more spectacular from each other. The Grand Canyon is really a site worth visiting. I highly recommend going there. Here is my trip in small part, to make you want to make a road trip and go far to relax. And we hope that the United States will be your next destination!

Rising star, Lilimar, is the embodiment of class and style. She’s a gorgeous Latina – born in Venezuela to Cuban parents – who is the accumulation of everything Young Hollywood strives to be. Through her millions of followers, Lilimar set social initiatives such as #FreshFaceFriday and #StarGazeSaturday to encourage everyone to embrace their individuality. Lilimar is best known for her series regular role on the Nickelodeon series “Bella & The Bulldogs,” can be seen starring in the new Nickelodeon series: “Knight Squad,” which returns for season 2 in early 2019. Beyond the show, Lilimar is dedicated to giving back to her fans spreading a message of positivity and love in everything she does.

You started your career pretty young, what made you want to become an actress? It was always a natural thing. Ever since I was four, I’d pretend to be my favorite characters that I’d see on TV and say their lines with them. I’d wear my family’s clothes and do shoes for them as well! Once I was older that’s when I started doing plays & commercials and realized it’s something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. You own an Imagen Award in 2015 as Best young actress on Television, for your role on the show Bella and the Bulldogs. What did you feel at that moment? I was so nervous! I was so happy to be there, and the fact that some of my closest friends were there with me

STYLING BY ORETTA CORBELI HAIR BY GENEVIEVE GIAN

at the time, was amazing. To be quite honest, I didn’t expect to win it at all so it caught me completely offguard and I had to try so hard to find the right words to say on stage to express my gratitude (ha-ha). What can you tell to others girls who are passionate about acting and dream of becoming actresses? Go for it! If you are truly passionate about it and keep yourself active and learning, you most definitely deserve the chance. It’s important to mention that it’s not an easy not glamorous career, it’s exhausting and at times mentally draining, but if it truly is what keeps you going, it’ll all be worth it. Just always be prepared to hear a no, and work even harder for that big yes! Keep yourself positive. You set social initiatives such as #FreshFacedFriday and #StarGazerSaturday. Can you tell us more about it? Sure! I was really excited to start both of these on my page, cause I just really love connecting with everyone who supports me. I’m really grateful for every bit of love and support they show as it always keeps me so positive and happy so I wanted to do something that shows that I want to support them just as much. #FreshFacedFriday started when I noticed that a lot of my fans were going through really tough times, being really hard on themselves, and not finding themselves “attractive” or worthy of much. I wanted to help them raise their self-esteem little by little by bravely posting a picture of themselves (no makeup nor face-editing) every Friday with me! It surprised me just how many of them were down to do it with me, and shut down their inner fears and insecurities. #StarGazerSaturday was made as a chance to get to know my followers more and talk about topics and issues that I think should be more

saturnemagazine - 37

highlighted on social media. It’s a way for me to express my inner thoughts and knowledge and let my “stargazers” do the same! Sometimes society just puts so much pressure on everyone to do certain things and act a certain way, that at times what we really need is just a way to express what we really feel with those that feel the same struggle as us. At lot of times if I don’t have a big, controversial topic to talk about I’ll mainly talk about how important it is to take care of our bodies and mental health, of course with lots of encouraging phrases for everyone. Can you tell us about your role on the show Knight Squad? Sage is a wickedly fun character that is very serious about achieving her dream of becoming a knight. I kind of like how even though she’s so cold and even a little evil, you can still find her super like-able and is such a true friend to her bestie, Buttercup! Do you have a dream role you would want to play? I love really complex characters, like those of psychopaths or malevolent characters. I like having to work with a character that really challenges me and keeps me wanting to find out more in order to really understand their mindset. Professor James Moriarty from the Sherlock Holmes series is a good example! A few questions to get to know you better

Can you share your playlist of the moment? I literally have like 10 different playlists on Spotify for

38

almost every one of my moods. Depending on what I’m in the mood for I’ll listen to different types of genres and in different languages. I like whatever I hear sounds unique! What’s your favorite movie & tv show? My favorite movie is either Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Coraline (I know, two polar opposites). My favorite TV shows are Sherlock, American Horror Story, and The Vampire Diaries! What’s your dream destination? This is such a hard question, I love traveling with my fam so much! So far one of my top favorites has definitely been Italy! Wow, I was literally breathless the whole trip and felt so incredibly happy being there. I would like to visit countries in Asia soon though! I think the first destination on my list is definitely the Great Wall of China. Favorite Instagram account? Another hard question, I’ll have to give you more than one! There’s really some amazing accounts on insta. My ultimate favorites are @michellephan, @zeewipark, @artsypeach, @neginvaand, @kidjess, and of course one of my best friends @jordynyarker. I swear every single one of her posts are artistically beautiful and her captions are like a breath of fresh air!
