Daan Creyghton INTERVIEW BY JACQUELINE NARANJO PHOTOGRAPHY BY HEATHER KOEPP HAIR AND MAKEUP BY JUEL BERGHOLM STYLING BY OTHTHAN BURNSIDE & NIKKI KEESHIN LOCATION : DRIP STUDIOS
Daan Creyghton is a Dutch actor who currently resides in Amsterdam. He stars in the hit Nickelodeon show, “Hunter Street”. He plays ‘Sal’, a nerdy, big-hearted, pre-teen boy whose computer knowhow helps the family unravel the mystery of where their foster parents are. ... Hey Daan, can you tell me more about yourself? What made you decide to be an actor? As a young boy, I was always super interested in the arts. I was very shy and would never work up the courage to actually perform in front of people. But I always used to play dress up with my little brother and pretended we were pirates. That is really where my passion for acting sparked. A few years later, one of my sisters had a photoshoot and they asked me to also take some photos and thought that a career in the arts would not be such a bad idea for me. So I started taking a lot of classes and doing plays at school, and doing everything in my power to become the best actor I could be. We know you from the Nickelodeon hit show “Hunter Street,” how did you get the role and how has the experience been so far ? The way I booked Hunter Street was a crazy experience. It all started when my Dutch casting bureau was looking for English speaking 13 year olds (which was my age at the time). So I thought what could be more perfect
6
than an American Nickelodeon show filming in Amsterdam. I got the audition script and they were these super challenging computer whiz lines. So I worked super hard to memorize and get a feel of what this character is like. I did my first audition and did not think much of it. I didn’t think I did good or bad, I just thought average. Luckily I got a call back and did a chemistry test. I was super nervous to do this chemistry test. This was also the very first time I met and did a scene with Thomas and Kyra. After about 5 weeks my mom got a call and told me I booked the role of Sal. I was absolutely ecstatic. I was so happy. It was 100% one of the best experiences of my life. The experience has been surreal, it has honestly been a dream come true. I feel so lucky to have the chance to work on this amazing show with these amazing talented people. The show is now on it’s third season, any fun scenes you liked filming? What can fans expect from the season? To be honest, every scene we have shot has been so fun and great to shoot. One of the scenes that really sticks out for me is the scene where Kyra (Anika) had to try and explain something to me but my character kept on talking, so what she decided to do was feed me sandwiches so I couldn’t talk and she can tell me her explanation. Something that was really funny about this scene is that we had to try and time it perfectly with the lines. Which took a long time to get it perfect. I think I ate about 16 sandwiches during that scene.

This season, fans can expect an amazing plot. More mystery, more comedy, 2 amazing and very talented new actors. The Hunters go to a place where they have never been before, and huge plot twist that you do not want to miss. Do you relate to your character Sal Hunter in real life? Yes and no. Yes because Sal also has a very big family who he cares very much about and would do anything and everything for. Sal this season is also a very curious and naive kid and I would say I am the same way. No because I am definitely not a computer whiz kid. Many times I have had to Google some of Sal’s techy lines because I had no idea what they meant. If you could trade places with any character from the show who would it be and why? I would pick Dottie. I think her character is so funny and she has such a wild imagination, but she is also very mysterious and protective at the same time so I think that would be very interesting to play. You’re originally from Amsterdam, what do you love most about living there? Something I truly love about Amsterdam is the city itself. It is such a beautiful and amazing place to grow up. The people are amazing and as a teenager you have a lot of freedom to explore the city and go out with friends. When you aren’t acting, what do you like to do in your free time? I try to hang out with my friends and family as much as I can when I am not filming. My friends and my family
are all very, very important in my life and play such a big role in my life. I love playing sports with my friends or going to the movies or just doing whatever to be honest. With my family, I just enjoy spending time with them. Since all our time is so precious for us, we really try to make the best of it. Which actor would you like to work with in the future? I think both Ansel Elgort and Timothee Chalamet are actors I really look up to and hope to work with one day. I love their style of acting and everything they both have been in have been such inspiring pieces of work. If you can guest star on any TV show, which one it would be and why? I really love the show Prison Break - I think that is an amazing show, so it would be really cool to guest star in that. What advice would you offer to other upcoming and aspiring actors? I would say just always keep learning new things about acting. Always try to be active and try to do as much creative arts things as you can do. Growing up my mom always told me: “If you have a dream and you are willing to work hard and make sacrifices then you can achieve that thing. But I would say the biggest thing is to be patient. You will get a lot of no’s in this industry but when you finally get that yes I promise it is one of the best feelings ever. Do you have any other upcoming projects that fans should keep an eye out for? All I can say for now is stay tuned, and make sure to follow me on social!

Lilia Buckingham is a 16-year-old actress, author, dancer and social media influencer. She will next be seen as ‘Heather’ in the newest Brat productions series “Crown Lake”, debuting June 20th. Lilia can also be seen reprising her role as ‘Autumn’ in fan-favorite Brat series, including “Total Eclipse” and “Chicken Girls”. She first gained recognition as a competitive dancer at the MNR Dance Factory where she met and befriended several performers from Lifetime’s hit show “Dance Moms”, including Mackenzie Ziegler. In her free time, Lilia enjoys writing and plans to release a book in 2020 with Random House Publishing. She is co-writing the book with Sara Shepard, the author of the popular ”Pretty Little Liars” books. She is also a passionate advocate against bullying, having her own anti-bullying organization called Positively Social. Of the initiative, Lilia says, “Kids listen to kids. If you have a platform, why not use it to speak about things that can help other people?”. ... Since we first really saw you as a dancer, do you have anything upcoming that has to do with your dancing background? I am still dancing on my own but no projects at the moment. I would love to do something involving dance - it always made me so happy, and working on a dance related project would be a dream. Rumor has it that you’re working on writing a book. Could you tell us just a little bit about that process? Yes, I am! It's called Influence and is going to be published in June 2020 by Delacourt/Random House. I co-wrote it with the amazing Sara Shepard, who wrote Pretty Little Liars. PLL was always one of my very favorite series and it inspired an idea I had that combined some of PLL with the Influencer world. Sara loved the idea and we set to work. You know how every teacher tells you it's all about the outline? Well that is never more true then when you are writing. We came up with the characters, outlines, rewrote the outline and then set to work writing. It’s been such an incredible learning experience working with Sara. She has taught me so much about the writing process, and even knowing that she was interested in my initial idea in the first place meant everything to me. At first I was a little afraid to make any changes to her pages and
even share mine. But she’s so kind and opened minded, so the partnership worked really well. I can’t wait for everyone to read it! What about the book itself? What is it going to be about? It centers around four girls who happen to be influencers. We take a peak into the insane life that is the influencer world, and throw in a little bit of mystery. And murder of course. That’s all I can say for now! Acting, dancing, writing, are there any other talents that you might surprise us with in the future? Honeslty, I am just so grateful to have the opportunity to do so many of the things I love and to learn so much. I am a producer on Crown Lake from Brat Productions and that has taught me how hard it is to even get to that first day of shooting. I wish everyone who watched any entertainment could see how many people and how much time it takes to make any sort of content. I also co-directed a music video with Jill Spaeder called "Something Better." We came up with the idea and then brought it to life. That was also a really great learning experience. It's not easy to sort of yell at your friends when you need to get a groups' attention or need a shot. I really hope I get to do more of both! Tell us a little bit about Positively Social. What is the message you’re trying to send? I think it’s really hard for kids to navigate social media these days because it’s such uncharted territory. People can be so mean, and our goal is to help educate people on how we can prevent things like cyber bullying, and online safety overall. I feel really lucky to have a platform that speaks to so many people and I want to try to use it to help wherever I can. What are you most looking forward to as 2019 comes to an end? I am really excited for the book to be published. We worked on it for a long time, and I just hope people enjoy it as much as we liked writing it! I'm also looking forward to SNOW! I'm also going to Aloha Comic Con in Hawaii in February - I really love meeting people AND I have never been to Hawaii. But mostly I see a new year as a new beginning and new possibilities!

Towards a more environmentally conscious fashion
By Selma Aba
Fashion, the mirror of the society of its time, evolves according to desires and morals. Depending on the time, it responds to very specific problems. Today, the issue of the environment arises. With fashion being the second most polluting industry, brands are beginning to understand the issues involved. The textile industry which is the most controversial and fast fashion which consists in a very regular renewal of the collections which leads to a very intensive production of clothing under unethical conditions whether for the environment or for labour. Large brands such as Zara and H&M are examples of an ever-increasing production that is driving over-consumption of low-quality clothing. Waste is another fashion problem. Unsold items are not always recycled, quite the contrary. In 2017, the Burberry brand caused a scandal by burning the equivalent of 31 million clothes and cosmetics. As consumers are increasingly aware of these issues, brands see no alternative but to take more or less significant measures. For example, the H&M brand launched its “Conscious collection that uses recycled polyester and organic cotton. In the same way, since 2013, the brand has been collecting used clothing in exchange for coupons. 32 million tonnes of textiles have been collected around the world, a significant gesture against waste. As far as the consumer is concerned, the second-hand market is constantly developing. Cheaper and more environmentally friendly, this alternative to fast fashion takes many forms. One can thus buy occasions in thrift stores or on sites such as Vinted or Vestiaire Collective. This booming market is expected to surpass that of fast fashion in 2028 according to the American website Treadup. To continue to prosper, the fashion industry must move, through a transition, towards a more environmentally friendly and environmentally conscious production. Steps have already been taken, but efforts are still needed to allow fashion to have an ethical and sustainable future.

A Trip to Milan
By Lyna Allet
In September, as a graduation gift (yay me!) I traveled to Milano, in Italy with my mom. I stayed here for 4 days and now, it’s that time of the year when I give to you all the best addresses and the best place in one of the fashion capital. Milan is well-known for being one of the four big fashion cities, so it’s not surprising when you go there to see the best designers' shop, the best look and the best moment of Fashion Week. Traveling during that time of the year is wonderful because you get to see Milano with also that bit of sweet Milan wouldn’t be in Italy if it’s wasn’t for the delicious (and I insist on it) delicious food. Pasta, pizza, gelato… the very best of the food is present, so please, please please please, as you eat a pizza ( or as I call it a slice of heaven) just close your eyes and appreciate the unique flavor of it. And, last but not least, Milano is a wonderful city culturally speaking, you have museums, operas… just take your time in your busy schedule to see the uniqueness of Italian art. You’ll thank me later. To finish on the best note, I’ll give you some of the address of the best restaurants I’ve been (yes it’s a fashion magazine, and yes I’ll talk about food here, it’s Italy) So enjoy my view of the city. Ciao Bella !* *Sorry, I had to.

The very best of Milano Duomo di Milano The classical and historical duomo. A wonderful and iconic monument, with an admirable architecture. To continue with the experience, I recommend you to go up there and see the Duomo with a great view all over Milano. (around 12 ) Piazza del Duomo Alla Scala A wonderful and beautiful opera. Red velvet curtains, gold decorations, a sublime stage. This opera is magnificent with an ancient look that will leave you mesmerized. And the plus, when you visit the opera, you have access to the museum, with wonderful painting. Do, please, not miss it! Navigli Milano My favorite place of Milano, the tranquility with the ambiance. Navigli is a canals district with a lot of bars and restaurants around it. And the best of Italy: aperitivo. Apertitivo is a « concept » when during happy hour, you get a drink for 10 and you have an unlimited buffet included in the price. It’s an institution. You have to take aperitivo in Milano, or it’s a meaningless journey. (Sorry for those who been in Milano and didn’t do it, but you missed your trip. I said what I said.) But more seriously, this is, in my opinion, the best district of all Milan and also one of the most beautiful, I loved it there. Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II Breathtaking Galerie. Honestly. A beautiful, with the most iconic brands like Prada or Versace. But, with also painting, of angels, and a certain style that is very Italian. But there is also wonderful restaurants and bar in the Galerie worth the travel. I highly recommend this place, to take pictures, to eat, or if you have the budget to appreciate one of the Italian's arts (fashion) to go shopping in those incredible boutiques. ADDRESSES Bar Luce: Largo Isarco For the cute Italian ambiance (bar designed by Wes Anderson) and also for their criminally delicious sandwiches Obicà: Rinascente Piazza Duomo For the view of the duomo, and their cocktails La Prosciutteria- Milano Navigli: Ripa di Portia Ticinese For the classic Italian plate: with incredible bruschetta and very good cold cuts. La Locanda del Gatto Rosso (ristorante) : Galleria Vittorio Emanuele For the beautiful decoration and for their lasagna. They deserve it

INTERVIEW BY KIT CONNELLY PHOTOGRAPHY BY HEATHER KOEPP GROOMING BY HALI MCGOWAN STYLING BY OTHTHAN BURNSIDE ASSISTANTS : NIKKI KEESHIN & DEANTE LAW LIGHTNING BY ETHAN INGRAM
You’ve got a lot going on recently! Which of your current projects are you most excited about? That’s a hard question to answer. There’s a lot of exciting things happening for me right now, so it’s difficult to know where to start. I would say that I’m most excited to release my debut EP, “Edge Of The World” through Awal early next year. I’ve been super patient in the writing and production process, and I’ve spent a lot of time making sure the songs are exactly how I want them to be, as in the best representation of who I am now as an artist. Furthermore, I recently shot a role in Adam Sandler’s new Netflix film, Hubie Halloween, which is slated to release next year. I had met Adam a few years back when he and his family came to see my play at Pasadena Playhouse, so I was excited fo finally get to work with him. I also took on the lead role in a new scripted musical film debuting in 2020, directed by a really great music video director, Roman White. Some of our songwriters worked on hit children’s TV movies like High School Musical and Camp Rock, so the music is very powerful, and I know for a fact that it will resonate deeply with our younger audiences. Since starting off with Disney, how have you changed as a person in life? I’m definitely older and a bit more mature since that time in my life. I’ve started to see life from new perspectives that I hadn’t really taken the time to ponder in my younger years. I’ve met new people, travelled to lots of different places...but I’ve also made mistakes. I don’t see it as a bad thing, though, because I am the kind of person who learns pretty quickly from such mistakes, and I’m quick to incorporate change into my life should I deem it necessary. To be completely honest, these new perspectives, different experiences, and mistakes that I’ve made along the way have only made it easier for me to write honest songs and find truth in my acting roles. If anything, they have only served me well in terms of maturity and creativity, and I’m not sure that I would have gotten the kind of songs I’m getting with this EP had I started the project before these things all happened, or even if I started it at a younger age.
My music is brutally internal at times, and my acting roles since Disney Channel have become noticeably meatier. I’ve also taken up a new interest in dance, which I did a little bit of as a kid, but am eager to start improving on. How have you changed as an artist? I think I have changed as an artist in a number of ways. The music audiences will hear on this EP is way different than anything I’ve done before, and I think I have my fellow songwriters and producers to thank for that. I distinctly remember the writing process for each song, and the specific songwriters I worked with for each track. We would come into the studio with an open mind, and I felt safe enough creatively with the people I chose to work with that I could write about anything that was on my mind, without fear of being judged or pushed in a different direction. Each writing session was a dialogue of sorts; a conversation that we would have in the morning, which gradually transitioned into a melody and lyrics by the end of the day. The good songs that we got happened pretty effortlessly, and I think it’s a testament to the old industry idea that the best songs on a project are the ones we don’t try so hard to write. What was the catalyst that helped you decide to dive more into music recently? Music is always something I have felt passionate about, even from an early age. I remember participating in season 12 of American Idol when I was a mere 15 years old, and I now find it ironic that the show actually catapulted my acting career as opposed to my singing career, being that it was a show about singers. That said, I had some great offers and great opportunities, specifically with Disney Channel, that I couldn’t refuse at the time, and I’m so glad I didn’t. However, now that I have finished working with them, it’s given me more time to start going back to my other focus of building a career in music. It’s almost like I was given a start in acting, and now I’m good to go. It’s time for me to do the same with my music career. I almost like to think of it as the Justin Timberlake model.
saturnemagazine - 37
He can jump from film to film, and in between projects, he does his “Man Of The Woods” world tour. That’s what I’m aiming for, at least in terms of a multi-faceted career; equal parts actor and musician. Naturally, after taking the time to source the best writers and producers for my personal project, hearing the demos of what we’d get from each session only made me feel more confident in my songwriting abilities and excited about this side of my artistry. I realized for the first time that I actually could write my own songs, and good ones at that. Knowing this gave me permission to finally pursue music zealously and without pause. What sort of overall feeling are you hoping to bring across to your fans with your music? Some of the songs are total nods to 80s pop. Those tracks are meant to make you want to get up and dance, and I think they will succeed in making people do just that. Yet there are a few songs on the EP that aren’t specifically for that, and I hope people take the time to listen to the lyrics of these songs that fall into the other category. The leading single, “Out Of The Cold,” just so happens to be my favorite one on the EP, and it was written during a time where the metaphorical “cold” was heavily present in my life. That song is meant to make you think, because the cold is more than a feeling, or what it first seems to be. And then there are my odes to the feeling of love, which so many of us crave as human beings. “Temporary Love” and “Stop My Heart” both serve their purposes well. The first being a song that brings up the question of just what love is, and how it should not be mistaken for what is “almost love” or quite literally “temporary love,” and the latter being a song that pulls you into the throes of the emotion, in that when real love hits you, it’s got you good, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
38
Are there any sort of things that you’d like to address from your platform as a celebrity? It’s quite evident to me that a lot of young adults, specifically millennials are experiencing a strange amount of loneliness and an overall feeling of being out of place. I think a lot of that is amplified by the increasing prominence of advanced technology, as cliché as it sounds. I take mental and physical health very seriously, and am currently living a life of sobriety, despite being of legal drinking age. I have made a conscious choice to be myself in front of my fans, and if they follow me on Instagram, they have probably noticed that to be true. We are all people at the end of the day, so the word “celebrity” should really only have whatever power you choose to give it, and if that’s true, I encourage us all as people to do what is best for our own health. I commend Ariana Grande for already putting this idea into song with “get well soon” on her Sweetener album. I think she hit the nail on the head with that one. What do you find yourself feeling most passionate about these days? Obviously, I have an intense creative itch that I am lucky to be able to scratch in my line of work as an actor and artist, but my family means everything to me. I have lots of friends, sure, but only a couple (quite literally) that I truly count on being there when I really need them. My twin sister is probably one of those people. I also am incredibly lucky to have found companionship in my adopted 9 year old pitbull, who I brought home just over 2 years ago. He is basically a cat in a dog’s body. His personality is radiant, and he loves with reckless abandon. He came into my life when I needed him most, and for that I’m very grateful.

INTERVIEW BY JACQUELINE NARANJO PHOTOGRAPHY BY HEATHER KOEPP HAIR BY ROLANDO AQUI MAKEUP BY JUEL BERGHOLM STYLING BY AMIA SERRANO LOCATION : SKIPTOWN PLAYHOUSE
Sarah Silva is a 16-year-old singer/songwriter and actress. Her journey truly began after taking 2nd place in the Mexican version of America Idol, La Academia Kids, at only 11 years old. Sarah’s love of music is extensive and eclectic. She has been given the opportunity to perform a wide variety of songs from regional Mexican to R&B. She uses her music as part of her anti-bullying campaign that emphasizes the acceptance of all races, gender, sexual orientations, and other social constructs that divide teens. ... You got your start winning 2nd place in the Mexican version of America Idol, La Academia Kids, at only 11 years old. How was that experience? It was definitely an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. At 11 years old, I remember this being like a dream to me. I learned so much in this time period and in being part of this reality show I learned more about myself, my voice, and how to be present on a stage. After this a lot of opportunities opened up for me in my career I worked with a lot of producers, I did musical theater, getting to travel to places like Japan and Spain to shoot music videos and perform in front of 8,000-10,000 people. Those opportunities all lead me to where I am today. Did the competition help you become a better musician? I think it definitely helped me in developing my musical side. By being around other kids I knew what it was that I needed to work on and what qualities I already had. Ever since I was little I always had the mentality that you are your biggest competition and there should be no one else you’re competing against except yourself. What I mean by that is you should try to be better every day and try to overcome “the you” that you were yesterday. This is something I use not only in my music but in my everyday life.
I’m constantly striving to become a better version of myself. What inspires you to create music? Do you have a favorite genre? There are so many things that inspire me when it comes to creating music, but I’ll point out a few. Of course I love music! That in itself inspires me every day, but I think that one of my main sources for inspiration would be my family. Their love and attention is inspiring and helps me continue doing what I love because they are constantly there for me and that really motivates me. They make me believe that I actually have an opportunity in pursuing my dreams. Also, a couple years back it became very clear to me that one of the biggest reasons I would like to be successful in music is to help the less fortunate. Every time I think about this idea I feel my heart warm up. Its like this idea calls to me, like it’s my purpose. When creating music I’m constantly thinking about this and it motivates me in so many ways! Hopefully, someday I’ll be able to accomplish this goal! You often use your music as an anti-bullying campaign that emphasizes the acceptance of all races, gender, sexual orientations, and other social constructs that divide teens. Why is this important for you? I believe any kind of bullying sucks and it really affects the way a person sees life. People are constantly ashamed of themselves and that prevents them from being who they truly are. I want to be a leading voice when it comes to standing up for others, standing up for yourself, and not caring about what other people think, because there is so many people who are so selfconscious about who they are, where they come from, their skin color, how they look and I want to help abolish all of those negative feelings. We are combating bullying by accepting ourselves for who we are and one of my goals is to promote self-acceptance around the world.

You create a lot of song covers like “Señorita” by Camila Mendes and Shawn Mendes and “Thank You, Next” by Ariana Grande. What’s your favorite cover and why is this something you like to do? Yes, I started creating covers a couple years back and I got popularity on YouTube because of this. I think it’s very fun to cover other artist’s songs and give it a little twist and make it into your own style. One of my favorite covers that I’ve done would be “Mi Gente” remix by J Balvin, Beyoncé and Willie William. It’s just a really fun song and I think it’s one of my favorite Latin songs to date. Any musicians you would love to collaborate with? I would absolutely accept a collaboration with artist like Sam Smith, Normani, Sabrina Claudio, or Rosalia. I think that their styles are what define them. I love how different they all are and the unique presence that each of them have, which I think is important for an artist to have. I’d loved to work with them in the future. Also, congrats on being nominated for “YouTuber Musical Favorito” at this year’s Kid’s Choice Award in Mexico! What do you love most about uploading your music on YouTube? Thank you so much I have no idea how it happened (haha). What I love the most about uploading my music to YouTube is that you are able to create whatever comes from your soul and put it out there for people to see. It’s like getting feedback, tips and love all at the same time. It’s so much different from just your family members listening to your music. It’s now a platform that gives to access to the world. Over the years you’ve developed a strong fan base,
50
how supportive have fans been? Yes, honestly it’s crazy to think I have fans, I really never expected so many people to be supportive of me, but it’s really amazing because they’re always there for me all the time with everything I do. It’s just really nice to have that kind of support. It’s like someone who always has your back, that’s what it pretty much feels like to have fans, which is really nice. I have some fans that have been supporting me ever since I was 11 when I was on the reality show which I think is crazy. You’ve recently released a song called “Sigo Aqui,” can you tell us your inspiration for the song? “Sigo Aquí” is a song that I wrote about a year ago and it is really special to me because it gave me hope when I was going through tough moments. It’s about know that at the end of the day everything will be alright even if the situation is hard things work out. What about your upcoming release “False Illusions?” What was the inspiration behind that song? I wrote “False Illusions” a couple months ago with another songwriter friend of mine, Alma, and what we wanted to convey was an empowering and sassy song that talks about having a dishonest crush and asserting that you don’t need that in your life. I think that when people hear this song they will definitely feel empowered. Do you have any new projects or songs coming soon that you can tell us about? I am signed with dubb Records and have been working on my new EP which will be released beginning of 2020. It will contain a variety of songs of different genres and I am very excited for everyone to listen to the new music!

IT has become a massive hit with a fairly devoted following. With Chapter 2 Two having come out recently, how have you been enjoying that success? The success of this movie has been beyond our wildest expectations, this has become such a giant of a franchise. A huge shout out to the devoted fans for all of the success! I am enjoying meeting all the fans and taking in this experience with them. It is truly incredible! What was it like to work on a production of this magnitude? As a lot of people know IT was the first major production I had ever worked on. For me it was a phenomenal time. I can’t believe how much I learned and I think I can always go back to this experience as a map of what I should and should not do. IT has and will continue to shape my life as an actor. Were you able to meet your Old-age counterparts while filming and pick their brains? We were able to meet every adult counter-part before the actual filming. We got to do a type of “speed dating”, where we sat with each one of them to learn more about them and become friends. The cool part was, they wanted to pick our brains! It was such a surreal and amazing moment to have experienced actors ask US what they should do as our characters.. I mean, we told them to just go for it! They had all they needed to play each one of us. Andy Muschietti, the director, had such great vision when casting our older selves. Some actors take little pieces of their characters with them as they work.

What is one thing you’d like to carry with you from Ben Hanscom going forward? That is a really great question! One thing I admire so much from Ben Hanscom is his loyalty. No matter how scared he was, he would always do anything for his friends. I want to be the kind of person that people know they can count on through thick and thin. If I can be that, then Ben will always be with me. Are you finding this horror genre to be something you’re leaning into as you move further into your acting career? I used to not be a big fan of the horror genre but as I have been filming a few in the genre, I started to love all types of horror. Horror is not easy. It is a very physical and exhausting to film sometimes. The exhilaration makes me want to do more for sure! Are You Afraid of the Dark? is another reboot of something old and beloved. How are you feeling about being a new face in such an iconic brand? I am so excited to be aligned with such an amazing reimagining. To be part of a classic and remaking it can be very nerve wracking and tough. But I think everything went really well, with such a great writer, director, cast, and crew, we hope to excite a new generation of fans as well as the fans of the original. We put a lot of work into making it feel iconic and nostalgic and I hope that comes out on screen. Can you give us some hints as to what we’ll be seeing from you in the coming year? As of now I cannot give you much besides that we are working on things behind the scenes constantly for everyone to see more.
