Police from south Scarborough’s 41 Division are conducting a week-long traffic safety blitz. The Reduce Collisions Campaign, launched Monday, will target high-accident locations, police said.

“Motorists are also encouraged to slow down and...refrain from using any hand-held device that will distract them while driving.” The campaign launch was held at the intersection of Kennedy and Ellesmere roads. The enforcement campaign ends Sunday.

Scarborough Afro-Carib Fest celebrates its fifth anniversary this Saturday and Sunday at Albert Campbell Square. Hosted by Heritage Skills Development Centre, the free festival runs from noon to 9 p.m.
