Cyclist suffers serious injuries after collision A Scarborough man received head injuries and broken bones after being hit by a car while riding his bike on Kennedy Road yesterday. Police said the 42-yearold cyclist was westbound on Stratton Avenue, north of Eglinton Avenue, around 5:45 a.m. When he tried to cross Kennedy, he was struck by a southbound black Honda Civic, police said. “The cyclist gets hit in the back wheel area, so he almost makes it across,” said Const. His condition was later upgraded to serious. “He sustained head injuries, facial (injuries), a few broken ribs and a broken pelvis,” Smith said. The motorist, a 39-year-old man, remained at the scene. “We’re not looking at any impairment or speed factor at this point,” Smith said. Police closed a portion of Kennedy for more than three hours as they investigated.
