What is Research Research is a process to know something new about the things already known to you. It is a scientific as well as systematic process of collecting data, analyzing it and evaluating it to reach at certain decisions to solve certain problems or creating new general theories for the future actions.
What are the Careers in Research Research has a wide scope as one of the trending career choices for the future. The process of research has been classified into various categories with different researchers taking the responsibilities of various types.
Analytical or Descriptive Research This type of research implies with the fact finding enquiries and surveys done for the purpose of describing the present conditions of the related object. A research methodology of collecting reports about the present condition and running condition of the object, without having control on the change ability of variables called ex-facto research. An overall research in this type of research is carried out for the detailed study of certain market conditions like, preferences of customers, rate of visiting shops and so on.
Fundamental Research or Applied Research The researchers have to make fundamental or applied research at a point of time as fundamental research relates to generalizing the data to create some theory for future use where as applied research is concerned with the collection of data for searching for a solution for the instant crisis faced by the socio-economic aspects of the society.
Quantitative and Qualitative Research The research that is related with measuring of the quantities of the objects is termed as quantitative research where as qualitative research is related to the data regarding the quality of the products just as the study of human behavior regarding certain thing or aspect of life comes under qualitative research which is done through intense interviews to solve some purpose.
Empirical against Conceptual Research The research that is concerned with certain theoretical point of view is known as conceptual research whereas the research based on collection of data from the verifiable results from the experiments or observations is known as empirical research. Conceptual research is usually used by the thinkers or philosophers for developing new concepts.
