In Memoriam The Technician staff extends our condolences to the family and friends of Aaron Hendrick. Aaron was a freshman this year and died of injuries related to a traffic accident on Saturday, January 15. His funeral was held on Tuesday, January 18. Aaron was an Electrical Engineering major and was associated with the Theta Xi fraternity. As the campus mourns this loss, The Technician invites Aaron’s friends to send memories and photographs for a memorial article to be included in the next full issue of The Technician.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held for Dr. Jim John on Saturday, January 22 in Medina, Ohio. Dr. John passed away after a long battle with melanoma on November 28, 2010. Dr. John was the fifth president of the University and served from 1991 to 2005. The Technician invites memories and plans to cover the memorial service.

Student Positions Available in Admissions From the Admissions Office Job Title: Student Caller Specific Days/Hours: Flexible late afternoon and evening hours . Hours/Week: Up to 9 hours per week, $7.40/hr. Duties: Assist the Kettering enrollment effort by making phone calls to prospective students. Qualifications: Enthusiasm for Kettering and its programs, interest in talking about Kettering and in sharing your experiences with high school students. Federal work study is not required. Alpha Phi Cardiac Care Week The Iota Epsilon chapter of Alpha Phi is hosting their annual Cardiac Care Week, January 24 – 29 (third week). The week’s events include “Health Fair” Monday, “Frosty Phi Snowman-building Competition” Tuesday, “Melt the Ice” on Wednesday, the Chili Cook-off Thursday, and a sled race/hot cocoa social on Friday. The main event will be a euchre tournament on Saturday, January 29 from 3 – 6pm in the Sunset Room. Anyone is welcome to participate in these events; stop by the Great Court third week to register for the events. Come out and show your support! All proceeds will go to the Alpha Phi Foundation supporting cardiac care for women.
