Kettering swarms Ace From Kettering Communications
More than 30 Kettering University students, faculty and alumni attended Michigan’s largest event for aspiring entrepreneurs, the 2012 Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship (ace) in Ann Arbor on January 31. The event featured entrepreneurship workshops, start-up company kiosks, business plan competition awards and elevator pitches by eight entrepreneurs. More than 1,000 participated from all parts of Michigan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, making it the largest in the history of ace, said Art DeMonte, Kettering’s McDonald Professor of Entrepreneurship. The group from Kettering was kept busy highlighting the University’s entrepreneurial activities to ace attendees throughout the entire day, he noted. “It was great to see such a strong showing from the Kettering campus,” said DeMonte. “I’m told we had more students attending than any other school and I know our presence was appreciated by the ace committee and noticed by many others.” DeMonte said watch for the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium in May.
