ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT BENEFITS UGM DALLAS UGM Dallas would like to thank our sponsors, players and volunteers for making the 3rd Annual William M. Thompson Memorial Golf Classic a success. Held at the beautiful Bear Creek Golf Club in Dallas, this yearly golf tournament was created to honor one of UGM’s greatest leaders, William “Bill” Thompson. Many of the Mission’s disciples were out on the course volunteering to help make this a fun day for all who attended. This year the tournament raised more than $60,000. The funds raised that day will help support the UGM Dallas programs that offer food, shelter and training opportunities to our residents. We thank every sponsor and golfer who came out and showed their support for the homeless in our community. Congratulations to the following winners: 1st Place Winners – Scott Jones, Andy Bailey, Roland Sigler and Brian Rickets with Key Performance Initiatives 2nd Place Winners – Dick Steele, Mike Mahon, Mike Cagle and Alan Balser, pros at the tournament 1st Place, 2nd Flight Winners – Eric Zarco, Mike Moore, Dave Willis and Bob Marshall with Networking Results Senior Longest Drive – Mike Mahon Longest Drive – Bill McKee Closest to the Pin – Michael Cheney

A WORD OF THANKS FROM UGM DALLAS CEO, MR. BRUCE BUTLER We are once again getting ready to close out another year here at UGM Dallas. This isn’t just another year for the Mission but our 70th year of offering hope to the homeless here in Dallas. As we pause to look back and remember those who came before us with a vision, hard work and a determination to make a difference in the lives of men and women who had no hope, we are thankful to our Heavenly Father for all He has accomplished thru His disciples here at the Mission. For 70 years each person involved with UGM Dallas has been the hands and feet of Jesus serving those who need it most. As we are approaching the holiday season, it is the time of year when we focus on being thankful. I Chronicles 16:34 says “Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” He has raised up those who serve as volunteers, staff members and donors, all of whom give of their time, talents, and resources, in order to bring hope and change into the lives of each client who enters our doors. As disciples of Jesus, we are trusting Him for the future, and we will continue to be a light in a dark world. As you consider year end giving opportunities, we ask that you consider giving to UGM Dallas. We appreciate your partnership and want to wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving and a joyous Christmas! “For God so loved this world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him, will NOT perish, but will have everlasting life.” John. 3:16 BRUCE BUTLER, CEO Chief Executive Officer

E Y C O N N E C T D AY 2 0 1 9 Ernest & Young, LLC is a corporation focused on making our world a better place to live, work and grow. On October 4th, designated EY Connect Day, UGM Dallas opened the doors of Calvert Place Men’s Shelter to an amazing group of EY professionals who volunteered with us in a day of serving their Dallas community and living out their goal of improving communities by giving back to classrooms, community centers, nonprofit organizations and the environment. Their time with us was spent in a variety of activities such as cleanup, restoration, and one-on-one time with Calvert Place clients. It was our honor to have them come along side our staff and volunteers and show compassion and caring toward these men who are experiencing homelessness. We look forward to a continued relationship with Ernest & Young employees. To learn more about Ernest & Young, please go to ey.com.

THE TIMOTHY PROJECT SENDS KIDS BACK TO SCHOOL A special thank you goes out to the donors, volunteers and vendors that made our Annual Timothy Project a success. Each school age child received a new backpack filled with school supplies and a Bible, as well as a new pair of shoes and haircut. This event allows the children to confidently begin a new school year with the tools to succeed. Our team had the great joy to pray over these special children and their families. The event featured the opportunity for participants to visit with businesses and clinics focused on health, nutrition, hygiene and finance. Thank you to every volunteer, donor and vendor who gave of their time, talents and resources to give every child in attendance a great start for the new school year.

It is a great privilege to pay tribute to Mr. Dan Millet, who went to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at the age of 75. Dan loved the Lord, and he and his family loved being part of the work at Union Gospel Mission (UGM) Dallas. Dan was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and then taught at the school for 2 years before joining his father and brother in the family business – Millet the Printer, Inc. He was a member of the Redeemer Bible Church of Dallas and was a faithful attendee, along with his brother, David Millet. Millet the Printer, Inc. was founded by William Lyle Millet in 1933. He was also a founding board member of UGM Dallas. Through four generations, the Millet family has had the pleasure of serving alongside the UGM Dallas staff members and volunteers to bring God’s Word to the homeless men, women and children of Dallas County. Serving the homeless has been a high priority for the family and working toward the Mission’s goal of ending homelessness one person at a time continues to be their goal as well. We thank the Millet family for carrying on in Dan’s footsteps here at the Mission.
