The Insurance Source & Medicare Man of Georgia

The Insurance Source and Medicare Man of Georgia was founded by Gary Reynolds in the late 90’s. He set out on a mission with the mind set of wanting to be able to help each client get the best insurance coverage on the market without having to worry about the corporate criteria and requirements to push products. He wanted a business model that mirrored his personality and mindset, one that would put clients’ needs first. This business model would expand over the years to include Home, Health, Life, Auto, Medicare, and more! Little did he know, this abrupt adventure would turn into a legacy that he would pass down to generations after him, starting with his daughter Robin Templeton.

Robin Templeton followed in her fathers’ footsteps shortly after the start of The Insurance Source and Medicare Man of Georgia. Watching her dad grow meaningful relationships with his clients, or as we have always loved to call them, our insurance family, inspired her to get licensed and build those same relationships. The dedication and attention to detail that goes into each client meeting is one that is as unique as each client. Robin takes the time to go over every detail while comparing policies, so when you make your decision, you can be confident that you’ve made the most informed choice. We do not rush our meetings, which is something we take great pride in! It is all to easy to bring someone in, give them the highlights of a policy then send them on their way… but that’s not what you’ll find here! Even if you want to stay exactly where you are, Robin will still go over every change for the upcoming year. In her time away from the office she enjoys spending the weekends jeep riding with her husband, beach vacations, entertaining her 6 grandchildren, and watching Georgia football!

bringing in her two daughters to preserve the family legacy her father started. Her oldest daughter Ashley Hardgrave came into the office almost a decade ago as the office manager. Ashley will be the second generation to follow in the footsteps of the vision Gary started. After many years being the voice behind the phone when you call in, Ashley was inspired to get licensed and decided to devote her time focusing on building a meaningful relationship with our clients and help build a stronger foundation. They’ve started on this new adventure as a mother daughter duo ready to break glass ceilings, set records, and help as many people as they can both professionally and personally.

Ashley brings a welcoming energy to every meeting and is excited to continue getting to know the clients and the community both her mother and grandfather have served for many years! In her

time away from the office Ashley enjoys weekends with her husband and three girls, shopping, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!

With the new growth of the business and to ensure each client continues to get the same one on one attention we have always been known for, Robin added her daughter Katelyn Hill to our team! The once mother daughter duo has now become a trio! Katelyn is

excited to fill her new roll as the front desk receptionist and looks forward to meeting the insurance family. In Katelyn’s time away from work she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and animals, last minute trips to the beach and mountains, and focusing on the completion of her Master of cosmetology license.

Over the years, The Insurance Source and Medicare Man of Georgia

has grown by leaps and bounds while helping the community every step of the way! Our business model is simple, and some may even say cliché… We are here to help each and every person that walks through our door, despite their circumstances and without thought of what we get out of it. Many times, Which means reaching far beyond the scope of a traditional insurance broker. We love our clients. We spend time with each one learning about their children/ grandchildren, what their favorite football team is (GO DAWGS!), their hobbies, their living conditions, and so much more. This has led us many times to hand deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner to a senior couple new to the area with no family, helping many seniors learn how Medicare Extra Help can help lower their monthly out of pocket for prescription drugs, partnering clients with community outreach to help keep their power on, we’ve celebrated and mourned with every single client in our books and we plan to continue with this family style business model! Our favorite activity is partnering with various local senior centers/Assisted living homes to host bingo and give aways that always lead to entertaining conversations and rewarding relationships with not only our clients but also their families! The smiles on the faces of the people we connect with remind us so often just why we chose to be in this field. When you leave here, we want you to feel like you’re leaving your favorite relatives house, with an excitement to come back next time!

So, whether you are shopping for health insurance, Medicare, home and auto, or a number of other various products we would be honored to get the chance to help build a policy and relationship with you that will give you peace of mind, that in todays world can sometimes be hard to find. ♦

REAP THE MANY HEALTH BENEFITS OF A

good laugh

Most people have heard the adage that "laughter is the best medicine." There are many indications that laughter can be beneficial to the mind and body, and that the perks of laughter and humor are far-reaching.

Various professionals have studied the clinical benefits of laughter, including Dr. Lee Berk and Dr. Stanley Tan at Loma Linda University in California. Here is what these experts say in regard to the benefits of a few good belly laughs.

BOOSTS IMMUNE SYSTEM

A 2016 study titled "The Laughter Prescription" and published in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine found that the amount of laughter a person experiences is related to the immune system's ability to fight off infections, among other benefits. The study references additional research that indicated spontaneous (not forced) laughter boosts the immune system by increasing natural killer (NK) cell activity. Levels were measured after participants watched a one-hour humorous video. NK cells are lymphocytes with a unique ability to kill a broad spectrum of cancerous and virus-infected cells, according to the National Institutes of Health. Laughing out loud improves immune system function and increases heart rate and oxygen levels.

LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE

Individuals who laugh often have lower blood pressure than those who laugh less often. Lower blood pressure reduces the risk for stroke and heart attack.

HELPS HEAL THE BRAIN

Laughing can help reverse symptoms of grief or depression by increasing the pleasure-enhancing neurochemicals in the brain, according to the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. A good laugh also may help people recovering from chronic illnesses by helping to alleviate fear and anxiety that could otherwise preoccupy the mind.

SUPPRESSES STRESS HORMONES

Drs. Berk and Tan found that the stress hormones epinephrine and cortisol decrease following laughter. Laughter may help people feel less stressed and overwhelmed.

PROVIDES A SMALL BODY WORKOUT

Hearty laughter can exercise the diaphragm, contract the abdominals and even work the shoulders and muscles in the face. Laughter also gets the heart pumping at a rate that burns a similar amount of calories per hour as walking slowly.

PROVIDES NATURAL PAIN RELIEF

Research suggests that laughter decreases inflammation that may contribute to pain. Researchers at the University of Maryland found that laughing also increases blood flow, which may help to reduce pain as well.

Finding ways to laugh more is an easy and fun way to improve overall health.
