Grilled Peach & Watermelon Burrata Salad This delicious gourmet salad is one of my favorite summer time meals. It’s refreshing, colorful, and easy to make. If you don’t have time to grill the peaches, no worries, you can skip that step and it’s just as delicious! INGREDIENTS:
• 4 PEACHES, SLICED INTO 1/2” WEDGES
To assemble, place a ball of burrata in the center of the plate. Then arrange the watermelon and grilled peaches around the burrata. Sprinkle the watercress on top and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Bon Appetit
OLIVE OIL SPRAY
• 4 SMALL BALLS OF BURRATA CHEESE (1LBS) • 4 CUPS OF CUBED WATERMELON • 1/2 CUP WATERCRESS • 2 TBSP OF BALSAMIC GLAZE (I LIKE ALESSI & MONARI FEDERZONI) • PINCH OF PINK HIMALAYAN SALT Preheat the grill to medium-high. Spray the peaches with a little olive oil (so they don’t stick to the grates) and sprinkle with a tiny bit of pink Himalayan salt to bring out the flavor. Then place the peaches on the grates, cut side down. Depending on how hot your grill gets, you want to grill them for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they have grill marks. 4

Resident Discount Program
Resident Discount Card Program We are excited to provide an informational update to the current Chateau Elan Resident Discount program, including information on how to register for a resident discount card, where to pick them up, and an outline of the resident discount perks. Residents of Chateau Elan Estates are eligible for a ‘Resident Discount Card,’ available for pick-up at the Chateau Elan Golf Clubhouse through December 31st, 2022. Once registered, the ‘Resident Discount Card’ allows residents to receive various discounts on offerings around Chateau Elan Winery and Resort. Residents who choose not to register for a ‘Resident Discount Card’ are not eligible to receive any discounts and must pay the regular fee for all programs and services throughout the resort. The ‘Resident Discount Card’ is completely optional and is not required for residents. Restrictions Chateau Elan residents must live within a qualified Chateau Elan neighborhood. Neighborhoods that are currently within the physical boundaries of Chateau Elan Winery and Resort are: the Legends, the Executive Estates, the Woodlands, the Village, Creekside Village, Oxley Village, the Country Estates, and the Manor Homes. Chateau Elan Winery and Resort will continue to assess this list on an ongoing basis. Even though licenses may reflect a Chateau Elan mailing address, residents must reside within the neighborhood limits listed above. If you have questions concerning your residency, contact the Chateau Elan sales office. Discount Cards A ‘Resident Discount Card’ may be obtained at the Chateau Elan Golf Clubhouse with proof of license reflecting a valid Chateau Elan address and a current billing

statement from cable television, utility, or voter registration card as proof of residency. Each household is eligible to receive one (1) ‘Resident Discount Card.’ Resident Discounts Residents using this ‘Resident Discount Program’ will receive the following discounts when a valid resident card is presented at the time of purchase. Discounts may only be applied to goods and services for Chateau Elan residents. Residents may not use their ‘Resident Discount Card’ to discount goods and services for friends, non-residential family, and/or guests. Residents must be present with a valid ‘Resident Discount Card’ at point-of-sale to receive discounted offers. Discounts are subject to change and may not be used on holidays/special event dates. Some items are exempt from the resident discount program – i.e. gift card purchases, packages, special events, wine tastings, wine tours, glasses of wine, alcohol, etc. Discounts may not be combined with other offers. Keith howell
Chateau Elan Resident
Keith Howell is a Chateau Elan resident and also the Branch Manager for the Buford office- Homestar Financial.
Keith’s transition to the mortgage industry began by happenstance. At the time, he was working for a credit company when he learned his offices would be moved Pennsylvania. That same week, a mentor reached out to him and offered to teach him the ins- and-outs of the mortgage industry. On the hunt for a new career path and inspired by a challenge, Keith decided to take a leap. That was nearly twenty five years ago, and today Keith has mounted a flourishing career as a branch manager and loan officer at Homestar Financial. Primarily serving the Gwinnett, Barrow, Jackson, Hall, and Forsyth counties, Keith oversees an office in Buford assisting with applications and managing his team. At Homestar, Keith has been consistently ranked as one of the top five producers within the company. Combined with such a stellar performance history, Keith’s devotion to memorable customer service inspires consistent client loyalty and word-of-mouth praise. Agents and builders alike have sustained confidence in Keith’s ability to deliver results, and accordingly the majority of his clientele is comprised of fellow real estate professionals. However, their partnership extends beyond the transaction. Keith and his team also pair with area builders to mount their marketing efforts, and make it a point to reach new clientele through fliers in new construction developments.Valuing their relationships with real estate professionals, Keith and his team also partner with agent clientele to publicize their loan offerings to potential homebuyers as well as offering continuing education programs for his agents.

Astutely recognizing that communication not only puts clients at ease, but also ensures a smooth transaction, Keith is mindful to provide his clients with consistent status updates while staying accessible no matter the hour. In fact, it’s his resolute commitment to forth- right communication and responsiveness that Keith cites as main drivers of his success. “When it comes to loan offerings, people can source our products at most other offices, but what keeps them coming back is that they benefit from our experience in the industry and our clear communication,” Keith reflects. “Even though e-mail and texting are useful and popular these days, sometimes the best thing to do is to pick up the phone and have a conversation.” Likewise, Keith ensures that there are few surprises during the lending process, and comes to his clients with solutions in hand if any issues arise. Of course, with twenty five years of industry experience, Keith has earned the insight to understand that all loans take time and require adjustments and providing buyers and realtors with updates on the process keeps expectations in check for all parties involved. In the same spirit of service that drives his daily work, Keith also makes concerted efforts to contribute his resources to a variety of civic and charitable engagements in his community. Currently, he and his company are partnered with Bethlehem Christian Academy, the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors, Mortgage Bankers Association, last year’s President of the North Gwinnett Kiwanis club and the Buford Business Alliance. Away from the office, Keith spends his free time raising his two sons alongside his wife Michelle of twenty two years, Jonathan a rising Junior at the University of North Georgia and Peyton a rising Senior at Bethlehem Christian Academy.

The Heart of the Problem: Why a Blue Ribbon is Not Always First Place As we conclude Men’s Health Month, our thoughts typically include the blue ribbons that bring awareness to prostate cancer. Blue ribbons honor those currently battling and those who have survived prostate cancer. Since cancer is the #2, cause of death for all men, recognizing blue ribbons is important. However, as a cardiologist, we know that the causes of death in men vary depending on age and that the #1 cause of death in men (and women) is heart disease. According to the most recent national vital statistics report from 2018, by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), heart disease and stroke account for 28.4% of deaths in men followed by cancer at 22.5%. Not surprisingly, in the “machoman” age range of less than 45, the #1 cause of death is accidents. Just as accidents are preventable, so too are early deaths from heart disease. The major risk factors for developing heart disease include male gender, age, family history, smoking, elevated cholesterol, high blood pressure, physical inactivity, being overweight or obese, and diabetes mellitus. We are born with the first three of these risk factors and they cannot be changed. Importantly, the remaining risk factors are modifiable with lifestyle changes. Simply put, stop smoking, eat a low-fat low-cholesterol diet, get daily exercise, achieve your ideal body weight, and stay on your medicines. These lifestyle changes can reduce your risk of heart disease.
