ALTA & USTA SIGNS HAVE BEEN REMOVED All of the signs on our fences have been hanging for several years now and most have significantly faded in the sun. Therefore, to further enhance our courts’ curb appeal, the tennis committee decided to remove all ALTA, USTA, and other league signs. If you would like to pick up any of the signs, please e- mail windermeretenniscmt@gmail.com. The signs will be available until September 1 before they are thrown away. www.WindermereCommunity.net

SQUEEGEES & BATT TOWELS ARE HERE FOR YOUR RAINY-DAY RELIEF As the summer weather is upon us, please remember there are multiple tools at our courts to help dry your courts. They each serve a specific purpose, so in order to extend the life of these tools, please use them accordingly. Upon arriving at your wet court, please use a roller or pull squeegee to spread out the large amounts of collected water. The BATT towels are to be used once the water has been dispersed to help dry the court in a more efficient manner. Please watch this quick video on the proper way to use the BATT towel here: https://battowel.com/video
TENNIS NEWS NEED TO RESERVE A COURT? The reservation system we have been using the last few years has been bought out and absorbed by another online application. Back in July, we will transition from Kourts.com to a new app called Playtomics. We are still working with the new vendor on the transition, so be on the lookout for information on the weekly e-mail updates from Bobby and on the Windermere Tennis Facebook page. Please ensure that your contact information on the association website (www. windermerecommunity.net) is updated to include email addresses and cell phone numbers, as this is required information to register for the Playtomics app.
Please remember to hang the squeegees and BATT towels back up on the inside of the fence when you have finished using them.

PET TIPS
Pet Anxiety We always hear about human anxiety, but pets are just as susceptible to this uneasy feeling. Fear-related anxieties can stem from loud noises like fireworks and thunder, new environments, unfamiliar situations or even visual fears like someone carrying an umbrella or wearing a wig, mask or hat. I recently posted on Facebook the highest number of lost pets occur over the 4th of July holiday and 1/5 of lost pets go missing after being scared by loud sounds such as thunderstorms and fireworks. Also, 40% of pets will experience separation anxiety simply when their owners leave the house. And age-related anxieties affect dogs similar to the way Alzheimer’s disease affects people. Dogs may lose their memory, their awareness can decline, and confusion will set in resulting in anxiety and fear.
My husband and I have personally experienced dog anxiety with our beloved foxhound, Lyla, who sadly died too early at the age 9 in 2015 due to a tumor on her liver. We rescued her as a puppy and these feelings were apparently already set in. She was fearful of many things.... one being balloons! We stopped bringing them into our home for birthdays... And she could instantly sense the large hot air balloons in the vicinity and refused to go outside! Quite often during our walks, she would pick up on a scent in the air and immediately pull me back home with her tail tucked between her legs and hide under our bed. Poor baby. While she was a bit high maintenance, I miss her TERRIBLY. Watch for these symptoms below that often result from anxiety: • Hiding • Panting • Aggression • Yawning or lip licking • Destructive behavior • Whimpering or barking • Pacing & restlessness • Clinginess It’s best to consult your vet as to how to handle this issue. Certain anxieties may be treated differently than others. I know Thunder Shirts are quite popular for both dogs and cats. We never medicated Lyla although I know there are meds available if the anxieties become severe. Our instinct is to attempt to cuddle with our babies, but it’s not always what they prefer. However, if they do, then cuddle away!!

Teach your children to stay back from the street and never go near the bus unless they are loading or unloading. When unloading, teach them to go directly to a safe location away from the bus and the street. Please keep your bus stop safe by asking the children to load and unload in an orderly fashion. Please make sure their hands are free and all their belongings are inside their school bag. Do not allow running or horse play at the bus stop. COMMUNITY NEWS
Windermere Residents, We hope everyone is having a great summer. We just wanted to send out a couple reminders on the ARC and covenant enforcement process. Home Improvements/Exterior modifications of the home are regulated and approved by the Architectural Review Committee (ARC). The committee meets on the First Tuesday of the month to discuss areas of concerns, owner appeals, and any updates needed to the ARC standards and guidelines. All exterior modifications, including in the backyard, do require prior approval from the ARC. This includes new roofs, house painting, landscape and hardscape improvements, windows, doors, enclosing decks, etc. Modifications completed without approval are subject to fines and you may be required to “fix” the issue which may be very expensive so please remit a modification form. We strive to get all requests turned around in two weeks. If you are planning to make any modification to your home, please CLICK HERE https://www.windermerecommunity.net/ page/13899~115237/welcome-to-windermere to find the application and the full guidelines for Windermere. On the other side of the home improvement area is Compliance. Although this is not necessarily a “friendly” area of communication, we want to ensure that owners are complying with

the Covenants and upholding the community standard. This is very important to maintain the home values and marketability of the community. Did you know, on a weekly basis, the HOA conducts neighborhood drive throughs? The staff is tasked in conducting these inspections to ensure that the expected standards set by the community are met. Additionally, we receive reports from homeowners via the website or phone calls. Once we receive a violation of compliance the process typically goes as follows: · A courtesy letter is sent. 14 days are given for corrective action. · If the issue is not corrected, a warning of fine letter is sent giving the owner 14 additional days to correct the issue. · If the issue is still not resolved, a fine letter is issued and the owner is fined $25 per day until the issue is resolved. If the HOA receives communication from a homeowner that they are taking care of the compliance issue, and a plan is made, than no further action is taken in regards to a fine or letters sent. We understand not all issues can be resolved in that 14 day time period and we can certainly grant extensions if needed. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping Windermere a beautiful place to live!
