Why did you choose Hall County as the location to open your business?
The Quinlan Visual Arts Center is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable arts organization located on historic Green Street, Gainesville, Georgia. Founded initially as the Gainesville Art Association in 1946 by nine residents, the organization has grown into a comprehensive visual arts center providing quality art education opportunities for all ages and all stages of artistic development, seven annual exhibitions by living artists in the United States and special events for the community. Gainesville is a thriving arts community. As an almost 80-year-old organization, the Quinlan has stayed vital and relevant, representing the cultural voice of the region. Gainesville/Hall County has continually embraced the Quinlan and its programming, and we have more to offer as the needs of this community continue to grow and change. The Quinlan adds to the quality of life for its residents. This art loving community is seeing tremendous growth, and we are poised to grow with it, thanks to this community’s investment in us. There is no better place for us to flourish than Gainesville/Hall County.

We are a comprehensive art space. This means we build budding artists, showcase professional artists, sell artwork, and engage the community in a myriad of ways involving the arts. We are the cultural voice for our region. We are intentional in what we do and by that we mean we represent our community and are proud to work with each member, from kindergarteners to our senior citizens and all in between. We belong in our community, FOR OUR COMMUNITY.
What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated for Best of Hall 2025?
It is always an honor. The support of our community over almost 8 decades has allowed the Quinlan to grow and serve in a variety of ways. This is a mutually beneficial relationship…we love our community, and it loves us back. We couldn’t ask for more.
How did it feel to find out that you won?
Thrilled. As a non-profit, this award is affirmation in the work we do. We want to be impactful, and it seems we are doing exactly that.
