2023
Year In Review In addition to closing in on the year 2024 the Board of Directors is also closing in on completion of numerous projects to maintain and enhance the neighborhood and provide more amenities to our homeowners. While our two largest projects have yet to start (more on those later) there has still been plenty of work done within the neighborhood. The work at the Jim Moore entrance was completed earlier this year enhancing the look of that entrance as it is now being used more and more. We also completed the dredging work on the Treybyrne detention pond and have graded the silt taken out of the pond onto the field next to it. While there is still a lot of work to do in that area, we are still focused on getting that field back to a state where it can be a usable amenity for the homeowners in the future. Pickleball continues to become one of the fastest growing sports in the country and we are continuing in our efforts to provide our amenities to play this exciting sport. Additions for our Pickleball players include: • Mike Conlon has been added to the team and will be working on adding new clinics, drills and social events designed to get more people engaged and is available for individual or team coaching. • A new pavilion was built next to the pickleball courts. • Teams are now playing in ALTA’s pickleball leagues. While Pickleball is growing there are still plenty of people who play tennis in the neighborhood, so we continue to work to enhance the amenities for this group of players including: • Adding a pavilion near courts 15 and 16 to support league teams playing on those courts. • Addition of three new grills at both amenities for tennis and pickleball teams to use during league matches. • Adirondack chairs in the tiered viewing area with flagstone landscaping coming soon there. One other significant change to the tennis program was the resignation of Tim Dutton as our Tennis/Pickleball
Director. For those who have been involved in our thriving junior tennis program the name Grovo Carmona will not be uncommon to hear as he has done a tremendous job with that program. Therefore, he has been promoted to Interim Tennis Director and will now be responsible for all tennis-related activities and will work alongside Mike to develop a cohesive strategy for both court related sports. For those residents who do not play either of the above racquet sports we continue to feature activities that be taken advantage of by our homeowners. Our mainstay activities such as the Independence Day fireworks, Chastain Night, Dueling Pianos (with a second night added!!), Food Truck Fridays, Spring and Fall festivals, pictures with Santa, and the pool kickoff and end-of-season events continue to be extremely positive while our basketball league continues to grow and become very popular. Meanwhile our Social Committee and Activities Director, Angela Pavlichek, continues to add smaller events such as Bunko, Poker Night, walking club, and numerous other social events throughout the year. While not all these smaller events will “get legs” we will continue working to add events that cater to the diverse set of homeowners we have in Hamilton Mill. Now to those two largest projects!!! We are still on track to start the dredging work on Lake Mulberry at the end of the year. In addition to removing the silt at the dock they will also be restoring all the inlets to the lake back to their original designs. Included in this will be a plan to remove silt on a more regular basis. By the time you are reading this work will already have begun on the installation of the new slide and kids’ play area at the Millview pool. These two items should dramatically enhance the pool experience for those who swim at that pool. Finally, as we work to close out the work completed in 2023 the Board of Directors is already working on what to accomplish in 2024 so look for that info in upcoming communications. Regards,
Board of Directors

HAMILTON MILL TENNIS COACH ANDREW’S PLAYER OF THE MONTH:
Collin Campbell
Dedication and focused training are two of the biggest keys to improvement in tennis, and Collin is leading the way by example. We all know that somedays it’s just not easy to get out on the court, but Collin’s commitment and dedication through the summer heat has continued into the school year, and the results are showing. Collin has been training with great focus, listening, and implementing his coaching, and has taken ownership of his game and improvement, and with his example, so too has the rest of his training group; surely this must speak to his abilities as a leader as well! Collin is a joy to be on court with, unless of course you find yourself on the other side of the net as his opponent!

On court she’s always looking for a tip that she can immediately apply and is very receptive to instruction. It’s refreshing to witness an adult who continues to strive for excellence in tennis. We congratulate Crystal on her outstanding commitment to tennis and look forward to seeing her game continue to grow and develop. Keep up the good work!
