Please be sure to be proactive and plan accordingly for all projects and improvements to your home by submitting an application for modification. Please visit the website and look under the resources tab to download a copy of the application.
Applications still need to be submitted even if you are using the same paint or roof colors.
DOWNLOAD APPLICATION Applications are required for ALL projects to the exterior of your home or lot. This includes but is not limited to the following: Roof replacements, repainting the exterior of your home, tree removal, installation of basketball goals, trampolines, play sets and fences. We would also like to remind you of frequent violations to avoid. Trash cans must be stored out of view of the street. Portable basketball goals must be approved and installed according the guidelines which includes proper placement and screening. Pine straw should be fresh and installed at least twice per year. Edging must be of approved materials.

A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD We appreciate the positive feedback we have received for the partial reopening of the tennis courts. And we know that a logical next question is, what about the gym, Lodge rentals, playgrounds, basketball courts, the Green, and the Pool opening? Here’s where we are: Gym. The Board of Directors has reviewed the guidelines set forth by the Governor to allow access to gyms and fitness facilities. Unfortunately, our fitness center will not meet the requirements to open at this time. As you know, the gym is unstaffed. The Order requires that the operator of the facility ensure that social distancing occurs, and that staff be available for frequent cleaning and disinfecting. We simply cannot comply with this Order at this time. So, the fitness center will remain closed for the time being. Playgrounds: In order to maintain consistency with local county government recommendations, our playgrounds will remain closed at this time. We will likely officially reopen them when the county opens its playgrounds. Lodge Rentals. Current guidance prohibits gatherings of 10 or more people if such a gathering requires people to be within 6 feet of each other. Since Lodge rentals are for larger groups, and the whole point is for people to socialize and mingle, we will be notifying renters that their events will be postponed/cancelled. We will still take reservations for rentals, but all such rentals are subject to postponement/cancellation.
Basketball Courts. While there may be times that there are less than 10 people playing basketball, by its very nature, basketball is not a sport that is conducive to social distancing. Thus, the basketball courts will remain officially closed. The Green. We will officially re-open the Green; however, we ask that groups that gather there be limited to less than 10, and that proper social distancing practices be followed. Pool Opening. We believe it is premature to make any decisions regarding the pool. The Board is monitoring the State, County, and CDC recommendations. As previously stated, there are guidelines about 10 or more people being in the same place. We are told that the CDC is currently working on issuing guidance for swimming pools that should be available within the next couple of weeks. We will also seek guidance from our Pool Management Company, AMS Pools. We are keeping the pool opening set for May 16, but know that this is a very soft target, and likely to change. We will provide an update as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these unprecedented times. Regards, Windermere Board of Directors

Thinking About Selling Your Home? Do you need a closing letter? What should the For Sale sign look like? How much are the fees? PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS. Amenity Cards: the amenity access cards should be given to the buyer at closing from seller. If not, the buyer or seller may purchase them from the association for $25 per card (maximum of 2 cards).
ARE YOU BLOCKING TRAFFIC? One of the largest complaints that we receive in the community is that home owners, and their guests, are parking on the streets. Vehicles parked on the Windermere streets create issues for our overall thoroughfare within the community. They also obstruct access for public and emergency vehicles to be able to provide the services that we need. Many residents know that our roads are public, and therefore they are maintained, monitored, and enforced by county and state laws. And, even though our founding covenants prohibit excessive street parking, they are not legally enforceable. In other words, if a vehicle is legally parked on a public road, we do not have the authority to take action against it. For that reason, we are not able to impose/ enforce legal or financial repercussions when certain neighbors choose to go against what our expectations are. Since we all moved into this wonderful community, with an expectation of cars not being parked on the street, PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES

Golf Cart Safety
The Board of Directors is asking for your cooperation and assistance.
We as a Board are very concerned about the rise of unlicensed youths operating golf carts. In the event you don’t know the Georgia laws in this area, please see the information below that was prepared by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. The bottom line is that no person should be at the wheel of a golf cart unless they have a valid drivers’ license. In the coming weeks, the Sheriff’s Office will be stepping up enforcement of the Georgia Code. If the situation doesn’t resolve itself, the Sheriff’s Office has informed us that parents may be ticketed for allowing their children to illegally operate these vehicles. As always, please call 911 or the non-emergency number (770-781-3087) to report suspicious persons as well as unsafe or illegal operation of a motor vehicle. Windermere Board of Directors

TENNIS NEWS
Board Policy on Reopening of Amenities: Tennis Courts & Instruction Approved April 23, 2020 The Windermere Board of Directors recognizes that many of our residents wish to get back to playing tennis as soon as reasonably and safely possible. The Board shares that goal. That said, the Board must balance this with the potential for individuals to get sick due to using our tennis courts, and the potential legal liability that could attach if we move too quickly. Thus, the Board has decided to have its reopening policy influenced by legal counsel, Governor Kemp’s Executive Orders, and the pre-eminent American tennis association, the U.S. Tennis Association (“USTA”). On April 2, Governor Kemp issued a statewide Shelter in Place Executive Order to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The order applies to all Georgia residents and visitors and will remain in effect until April 30 at 11:59 p.m. The Order states that “all residents and visitors of the State of Georgia are required to shelter in place within their homes or places of residence, meaning remaining in their place of residence and taking every possible precaution to limit social interaction to prevent the spread or infection of COVid-19 to themselves or any other person…” On April 20, the Governor issued an additional Executive Order, where (among other things) he stated that gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys, tattoo parlors, and hair salons could begin Minimum Basic Operations beginning Friday, April 24. None of our amenities fit this description. The Board has agreed that once the Governor has lifted the Shelter in Place Order, currently scheduled to expire on April 30, we will re-open our tennis amenities subject to certain safety and social distancing restrictions.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE TENNIS COURT GUIDELINES AND RESTRICTIONS BEFORE COMING TO THE TENNIS COURTS: https://www.windermerecommunity.net/page/13899~1028262/Tennis-Court-Guidelines-and-Restrictions

REDUCE THE RISK OF EXPOSURE
Social Distancing
We strongly encourage following the recommendations from the CDC to reduce the risk of exposure and spread of the virus include the following: • Avoid close contact with people who are sick. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. • Stay home when you are sick. • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. o If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. • Maintain a social distance of six feet during all public interactions. • Eliminate handshake greetings.

WINDERMERE WAVES 2020 SEASON UPDATE Waves Families, First of all, we hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. The Atlanta Swim Association (ASA) continues to monitor and review the COVID-19 situation and they are evaluating various options for summer 2020. As you all know our season, under normal circumstances, would begin with practices on Monday, May 4th and the season would conclude on Friday, June 26th — this obviously will not be the case for this year. If we are able to have any type of season it will most likely be condensed. We are told the ASA will have more of a definite plan by the beginning of May and we will keep you all posted as we obtain any information. For our team, please know should the season be cancelled, we will refund all registration fees and ASA fees 100%. Also should we have a condensed season all late registration fees will be waived and we are looking at reducing all regular registration fees. Our
goal is to provide a safe and fun activity for our kids to look forward to and we will get creative as to how we put the season together. As more definitive information is received, we will forward that information to everyone. Thus, by early May, we will follow up on the status of the 2020 summer season. Practices will NOT start May 4: we will let you know future dates and updates when they become available.
Stay safe and stay healthy!! We miss our team, Go Waves!!

SUBJECT TO CHANGE due to Covid-19! Please check your community email blasts and the facebook page for updates.
OPENING DAY: SATURDAY, MAY 16 Message to Residents from the Windermere Board of Directors and Pool Committee We are looking forward to the 2020 official opening of our aquatic facility. At this time we would like to acknowledge all the effort that goes into preparing the pool and planning for a successful and enjoyable season by our Property Management Staff, Josh, Stacy and our Event Coordinator, Jennifer. Thank you to our team for all your hard work. Please note the following reminders, but most importantly carefully review full details found in the Pool Information Packet.
POOL HOURS AND GUARDED SCHEDULE The Pool opens at 5:00 a.m. for residents to swim at your own risk. The Pool closes each evening when lifeguards go off duty. Lifeguard on duty schedule is detailed on Page 4 of the Pool Information Packet
POOL SAFETY: ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS!! Please pay close attention to the pool rules which are intended to ensure a safe environment for all residents. Please be aware that Lifeguards are primarily responsible for life safety. Parents are responsible for monitoring and supervising their children at all times, while in the water and on deck, and ensuring they observe the rules for their own safety. The majority of our parents are diligent in this regard, but there still are too many instances of unsupervised children. We ask that you give your utmost attention to this and your full understanding and cooperation to the Lifeguards. Please bring to the attention of a Lifeguard immediately, any unsafe situation or behavior or infractions of rules you observe taking place in the pool or pool area.

RAFTS AND FLOATS No rafts or inflatables as these can create a visual impediment for the lifeguards. To clarify, swim vests, noodles, arm floats, infant tubes and swim aids are the only inflatables or flotation devices permitted. (Rule 1.N).
PROPER ATTIRE Attire appropriate for a family friendly association is required at all times. Please No thongs (Rule 1.P).

FORSYTH COUNTY
News from the Forsyth County Chamber MOVING FORSYTH FORWARD TOGETHER Last year’s State of the County address saw the debut of a new entity: Forward Forsyth. Forward Forsyth is a partnership of the Forsyth County Government, the Chamber of Commerce, the Development Authority, the Forsyth County School System and Forsyth County’s higher education institutions. Forward Forsyth serves as the driving force behind Forsyth County’s strategic economic development plan produced in 2018 by national consultants. The plan identified target industries: e-commerce, data services, technology, healthcare and advanced manufacturing, to name a few. It also promoted action items like development of commercial product in north Forsyth County, mixed-use developments, efficient regulatory processes and other items. The Forward Forsyth Steering Committee meets once a month to discuss strategy and track progress on the items listed in this plan. The group held a specially called meeting on April 9, 2020 with a special purpose in mind. The discussion at this session was focused on economic recovery rather than economic development. The mindset of the group is that what economic development looks like right now is ensuring the success of the county’s current commercial investors during this time of health and economic crisis. The group agreed to adopt an interim plan with initiatives that focus on economic recovery. The plan includes: • Connecting businesses to operating capital by promoting resources of CARES Act, hosting virtual seminars and tutorials on how to apply for CARES Act support and how to obtain private working capital – primarily from banks and by promoting local restaurants and retail operations still open and providing resources. • Connecting unemployed workers to employers by identifying and promoting employers seeking employees, populating online resources for the unemployed and hosting virtual seminars on how to best use GADOL resources • Providing support to specific industry sectors by hosting topic-focused, expert-led Virtual Meetings for the Forsyth Tech Executives Group, Forsyth County’s Manufacturing 20

Society, Forsyth County’s Commercial Real Estate Council, international businesses in Forsyth County and Forsyth County’s Healthcare Association and completing Virtual “Existing Industry Visits” with the businesses included in these groups • Collecting data from local businesses via online surveys and daily phone calls engaging business owners and executing survey questions These efforts will be housed under the Together4FOCO brand. On Monday, March 16th the Forsyth County Chamber launched Together4FOCO to engage the Forsyth County community and keep residents and businesses connected during a challenging time to lend support to one another. Visit www.Together4FOCO.com to learn more about these economic recovery efforts and how you can engage in Forsyth County’s economic recovery plan.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Heroes Reside Amongst Us Seems to me that most of us typically spend much of our life so wrapped up in our work, with kids, our grandkids, on cell phones and just existing, we miss the realization that residing amongst us are heroes. Maybe this is the norm. Heroes here in our presence, but not wearing a cape or a mask like the Caped Crusader, but dressed non-conspicuously in police uniforms, EMS attire and medical scrubs. With that camouflage, we fail to recognize their gift of heroism until there is a crisis, they are called into action risking their own health and well-being and are exposed as the true heroes they are. Living on our street, just two houses over, is the Camonayan family (Jessie, Rose, DJ and CJ). They are the normal family, quiet and courteous, friendly and joyful, always laughing and having fun at our street parties. The Camonayan family has lived in the Southgate neighborhood of Windermere for the past thirteen years. Jessie, the husband/father has been in hospital materials management for thirteen years. Rose, the wife/mother has been a critical care RN for thirty-three years. During this Covid-19 pandemic, Rose is providing her services at two separate hospitals. DJ, daughter 1 is a nurse in cardiovascular ICU and CJ, daughter 2 has been an ICU patient care tech and is graduating with

her nursing degree this May. Over the past weeks, we have missed seeing the Camonayan’s outside in their yard or walking their two dogs. We see them on occasion and get in a hand wave as they drive away to the hospital and then return home for a few hours before driving off again. Two weeks ago, my wife, told me that she was creating a sizeable sign that I was to place in the Camonayan’s front yard advising the world that these undercover heroes lived right here, in Windermere, in our neighborhood and on our street. She also informed that our other neighbors would be adding their signature to the sign, as witness to that fact. I replied to her that I may be placed in ARC jail for its erection, to which she replied, “It’s worth it. Always wondered what it would be like with you locked up”. She was correct. They are Heroes!! Surely there are other heroes living in Windermere and we do not want to overlook them. May we all take a moment, be thankful for the “Heroes Residing Amongst Us” by letting them know just how much we truly appreciate them! Submitted by Southgate Resident, George T. Watson

PET NEWS
R-E-S-P-E-C-T for Neighbors Please We so hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe during these unique Coronavirus days. At least we can all take walks and enjoy some nice Spring weather. Taking our dogs for walks is fabulous therapy for us and for our pups, however, we are getting even more complaints about owners NOT picking up their poop.
and see a pile of poop in our yards and especially if it does not belong to our baby.
PLEASE, PLEASE show respect to your neighbors and handle this much needed task by simply keeping poop bags handy by your leash or tying a few bags TO the leash so the walker will be prepared as they leave your house. This is a super great way to show our children respect to all of those around us. We know touching poop even through a bag is not always pleasant, but it is a responsibility we accept as a pet owner. None of us want to walk out
Thanks so much. Prayers for safety and good health!
Once again, our motto needs to be TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WISH TO BE TREATED. And this actually should cover all aspects of being a good neighbor. Think about it... and please do your part.

In consultation with the association’s professional team, including the association manager, attorney, insurance provider, and other business partners, the Board has been planning for contingencies that may arise in the community as a result of the spread of COVID-19. Based on advice that has been circulated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Georgia Department of Health, we have made the tough decision to close the fitness center until further notice. Fitness center usage is suspended until conditions improve and guidance and advice from the CDC and other government officials are confident that operations may resume. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
