7 Ways to Boost Your Savings Discover smart options to grow your savings. Although saving more takes some effort, it may be easier than you think – there may even be “free” money available that can help. Here are some tips: Take advantage of an employer match. If they’ll match 3%, you’ve just covered 6% of your retirement savings goal when you add in your contribution, too. While the specifics vary, many companies will match whatever you contribute to the retirement plan (up to a certain percentage of your income). Increase your savings rate just 1% a year, whether in an IRA, a 401(k) or some other dedicated account. This small change means you’ll be at 15% within 10 years without even feeling it. Investigate additional opportunities at work, such as corporate profit-sharing plans, employee stock purchase plans (ESPPs), which enable you to purchase your employer’s stock at a discount, and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), which provide company stock at no cost as part of overall compensation. Put money aside in tax-deferred accounts such as a 401(k) or a traditional individual retirement account. Doing so can cut your tax bill. Contributions to a Roth IRA, by contrast, are not tax deductible but can grow tax-free. Earnings may be taxed if withdrawn before you’ve held the account for five years. Consolidate your financial accounts to take advantage of potentially lower fees. Don’t assume a bank is your only choice for a checking account, and consider applying whatever savings you achieve to your retirement fund. Pay yourself first. Schedule automatic monthly transfers from your checking or savings account into your retirement account. This keeps you on track and also ensures that you’re investing regardless of market fluctuations.* Find a credit card that deposits cash back directly into your retirement account. Careful here – this only works if you diligently pay off the card balance every month. Give me a call to schedule a complimentary appointment to discuss how you can improve your savings strategies. *This strategy does not assure a profit and does not protect against loss. It involves continuous investment regardless of fluctuating price levels of such securities. Investors should consider their financial ability to continue purchases through periods of low price levels. Investing involves risk including the possible loss of capital. There is no assurance that any investment strategy will be successful. Withdrawals from taxdeferred accounts may be subject to income taxes, and prior to age 59½ a 10% federal penalty tax may also apply.

NEWS FROM THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE

IT IS THE 4TH ANNUAL SHEILA FEST! Planning is well under way and we are super excited for this year’s event. When we planned the first festival it was just a neighborhood event that has grown into a community event and I could not be happier! The Community is what it is all about. Love thy neighbor!

The question we get most often is "Why is it called SheilaFest?" “In 2015, one of our beloved residents and social committee members – Sheila Anderson – had a massive heart attack and nearly lost her life. A true music lover, Sheila was inspired by her second shot at life to launch a music festival at Traditions of Braselton. The festival is named as a living tribute to her – after all, that’s what this community is all about… those special individuals that are an integral part of the whole. Sheila’s ideas, connections to local bands and countless hours of work to pull together something amazing with the help of her friends and neighbors in the community resulted in one of the largest events Traditions of Braselton has ever hosted. We expect this year to be even bigger and better than ever. I – for one – can’t wait!”

NEWS FROM THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE So, what does iServe do? In 2019, iServe gave away

$1,980,000 worth of food to those in need

THE ISERVE VISION To end generational poverty in the communities we serve through meeting practical needs and teaching life skills

iServe’s mission is to bridge the gap between the body of Christ (the church) and the community, together with one another serving those in need and teaching them skills that lead to change. Our hope is that the change brings an end to the generational poverty in their lives and families. Our mission currently drives two community programs, a weekend backpack program to 250 local families with children in school who participate in the free and reduced lunch program and a mobile food pantry, held three times per month, serving on average 750 families per month. With a vision for a future where the families that we serve are able to end the cycle of generational poverty that many of them are in, we are seeking partners to help us continue running successful outreach programs, to offer free or reduced cost services to individuals seeking to learn practical life and work skills, and to employ “graduates” of the iServe program.

OUR PROGRAMS

Nearly 40,000 people in the counties that we serve are living under the food insecurity rate

Each mobile food pantry provides 30,000lbs of food for up to 500 families for just $800 In 2019 iServe’s Feeding Northeast Georgia food pantries served 30,000 people in need in our community.

Over 60% of children in our community are eligible for free or reduced lunch

A Bags of Love backpack provides 24 meals for a family for just $6/week Each week 250 backpacks are delivered by volunteers to local schools

Would you consider partnering with us? Jeff: 407-761-3659

ONSITE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM I am confident that everyone has noticed the great improvement in lot maintenance this growing season. Our guys are making it through the property in 2 to 3 weeks and complaints about vacant lots have dropped to almost zero. We are so thankful to the grounds and finance committees for taking a chance and approving this plan and hope that it continues to be successful for years to come! There are several projects that we have scheduled for after the growing season is over to enhance the appearance of the property: Traditions of Braselton

The ARB has been working hard to protect home values and the proof of their efforts are in the numbers. Thank you to everyone for their support and patients as homes are being constructed near you! Due to age and wear on driveways the ARB is considering adding a provision that would permit driveways to be painted gray or tan with prior approval. Before doing this, they would like to get the Communities opinion. Can you please help us by answering this one question survey? https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/traditionsdriveways

Many have expressed that they are not attending because of COVID-19. Thanks again for the opportunity and I would love to offer the classes maybe next spring! Personal Trainer My name is Carson Lagos, I have been a resident of Traditions of Braselton for almost 13 years. Around 2 years ago I was very unhappy with the way I looked and the way I felt about myself. I had very little passion and meaning but I went to work. Through trial and error, I crafted my body into something I love to see in the mirror. Fitness absolutely changed my life in many ways. It provided me with a therapeutic outlet, a set of goals, discipline, and most importantly body success. As your personal trainer, I would love to help you achieve your dream body. Over the past few years, I have gained extensive knowledge of everything fitness through my own learning and through the process of getting my ISSA personal training certification. I would love to spread all my fitness knowledge off to you through the process of perfecting your body.

NEWS FROM THE COURSE

Membership Information CREATING YOUR CLUB Traditions Golf and Country Club is becoming the club the community has always desired – beginning with a multi-million dollar renovation to include improvements to the course, facilities, and practice area. There’s never been a better time to join! THE COURSE Already widely known as the best golf layout in the area, and the best is only getting better. The first of several course improvements will include removing our current bunkers and replacing them with the Capillary Concrete Bunker System. A concentrated effort to create better air flow for our bent grass greens will provide better putting conditions throughout the year. Additionally, each hole will be addressed to create a more enjoyable round while maintaining the original layout. THE MEMBER FACILITIES AND RESTAURANT The facility improvements will contain a completely new members facility and restaurant run by the area’s best, Jack Ansley. The new restaurant, Twenty7, will have a 200-seat capacity, a full bar, a beautiful outdoor area which overlooks a nine-hole putting course. The lighted putting course and patio will provide an inviting atmosphere that you and your fellow members will want to be a part of! The creation of a members-only facility will provide spacious areas to mingle with other members, grab a delicious meal, or just relax and enjoy your club. THE PRACTICE FACILITY The driving range upgrade will provide better range balls, aiming greens, targets, and the ability to receive insightful instruction. The addition of a dedicated short game area will give you all the tools needed to improve your game from 50 yards and in to lower your handicap. INVALUABLE RELATIONSHIPS We offer far more than just golf! While many were drawn here by the course, the discovery of friendship and camaraderie quickly redefined our greatest asset as that of the membership itself. Member social activities include but are not limited to: End of Month Theme Party, Twilight Golf, Golf Leagues, cookouts on the patio, and Holiday Parties. The restaurant will offer breakfast on the weekends, with lunch and dinner daily. There will be the always popular Happy Hour with live entertainment and much, much more! All making Traditions the place you want to call home. TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR GOLFING AND SOCIAL FUTURE! Contact us via e-mail at memberships@traditionsgcc.com or give us a call at (706) 363-9963.
