Membership is Just Smart Business The Chamber's Annual Membership Campaign is now underway. Over 50 volunteers are out in the community recruiting new Chamber members and offering a host of incentives. Chamber Vice Chair of Membership Brett Fowler, Brian Rochester Rochester & Associates Turner, Wood & Smith InsurChairman, Greater Hall ance, is leading the drive Chamber of Commerce with co-chair Phil Bonelli, Regions Bank. The campaign runs through March 13, and volunteers are seeking to develop new business relationships and recruit 100 new members. A Special Incentives Package is available when you join during the campaign. A national survey conducted by The Schapiro Group, an Atlanta-based strategic consulting firm, reveals that being active in a local chamber is an effective business strategy. Findings show that when consumers know that a small business is a member of the chamber, they are 49% more likely to think favorably of it and 80% more likely to purchase goods or services from the company. Small businesses represent the largest segment of the Greater Hall Chamber's membership roll (93%), and chamber membership has consistent and powerful benefits for small businesses. Small Business of the Month The Collegiate Grill The Collegiate Grill has been a lively part of Downtown Gainesville for nearly 75 years. Jeffrey Worley began working at the restaurant for George and Margene Brown when he was only 12 years old. Despite an economic downturn, Worley held a vision. Jeff and wife Donna engineered a deal to acquire the business in November 2008. The Collegiate Grill would undergo renovations and re-open the next month. The vision was to return The Grill to the original roots with a menu that was fresh and simple, but really good. It must have worked. A lifelong resident of Hall County, Nikki Chandler is a North Hall High School graduate and attended Gainesville College and Brenau University. She joins the Chamber's Economic Development Team as VP of Existing Industry. Nikki has been involved with the Chamber on the volunteer side. She worked over a decade in the poultry industry, starting as a payroll clerk and working her way up to managerial positions (Payroll/ Benefits, Human Resources and Safety) and also participated in community outreach. Nikki is a Leadership Hall County Graduate (2018-2019), was recently selected as a PAC Team member for Youth Leadership Hall, and is an Ambassador for The Arts Council Board. E-SPLOST: Good Cents for Education
Since 1997, the Education SPLOST – a one-penny local sales tax – has funded new schools, technology and safer campuses in Gainesville-Hall County. Though the tax amounts to just one penny on the dollar, all those "Good Cents" produced $580 million over the past 23 years. The E-SPLOST VI Vote is Tuesday, March 24. In the March referendum, the E-SPLOST vote will be paired with a general obligation bond designed to jump-start construction projects.

Captain Jason Smith, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, and Beth Downs, Northeast Georgia Health System, make a hand cast at Longstreet Clinic as part of Leadership Hall County's (LHC) Healthcare Day. The program began at Northeast Georgia Health System, where the class learned about the Cardiac Cath Lab, test driving the surgical DaVinci Robot, performing Hands Only CPR and receiving an update on the Graduate Medical Education Program. At Longstreet Clinic, the class learned how to make the perfect hand cast and got an overview of the many services offered at the clinic. A trip to Good News Clinics revealed the vast number of medical and dental services available to our community. To conclude the day, Brenau University shared their human donor lab.
