Celebrating Success at the 103rd Annual Meeting & Gala Thursday, May 12 - 6:00 p.m. - Chattahoochee Country Club The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce's 103rd Annual Meeting & Gala is Thursday, May 12 at the Chattahoochee Country Club. "We are jazzing up the festivities this year," said Greater Hall Chamber President & CEO Kit Dunlap. "We will be presenting our annual business awards as well as spotlighting our new "Commerce Club" – those organizations that have been Chamber members for 25 years or more. Award presentations will include the Distinguished Service Award, the Annual Small Business and Family Business of the Year Awards, the W.G. Mealor Chairman's Award and Silver Shovel Awards. The evening will include an outdoor reception, cocktails, live music, and an elegant buffet dinner.
Cost is $75 per person; $125 per couple. Reserved table of eight sponsorships are available for $1,000. Event sponsors include AT&T, Georgia Power Company and Lake Lanier Islands Resort. Volunteerism and Chamber Success The Greater Hall Chamber's Annual Meeting & Gala is May 12th. This is an opportunity for the Chamber to recognize many of our members that have played a key role in the success of the Chamber and the community over the past year. As you may be aware, small businesses represent 85% of the membership of your Chamber. At this event, the Small Business of the Year and Family Business of the Year will be recognized along with Silver Shovel Award recipients – individuals that have played a significant role in economic and community development, education and workforce development, marketing, communications, membership development and many other areas that have a positive impact on your community. The Chamber continues to expand efforts aimed at recruiting and retaining businesses. One-on-one meetings with existing industry are held to identify issues, expansion opportunities and consolidation opportunities Darrell Snyder that provide job growth. Last month, the 52nd Annual Red Carpet Tour Georgia Power Company hosted by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Allies Chairman, Greater Hall visited the Greater Hall Community. (See page 13 for details.) Thanks Chamber of Commerce to the efforts of many volunteers in the community, the tour was very well received by the industry representatives in attendance. Although the impact of these events is not always immediate, it provides a great opportunity for your community to showcase the many qualities that make the Greater Hall area an excellent place to live and work. The Chamber also continues to expand partnerships with the state’s economic development marketing efforts including regular contacts with statewide developers. Expanding networks with retailers and retail developers to attract quality retail development to your community is also a key effort of the economic development team. Further outreach to support small businesses can be seen through the regular Small Business Success Seminars that are offered to members. Congratulations to the community on the recent announcements of ZF Wind Power LLC and Kings Hawaiian which will create new job opportunities. Many retail announcements including Aldi, Olive Garden and others are also great additions that will generate additional jobs as well.

I also want to take the opportunity to recognize some of our volunteers that are very important and put in many volunteer hours to make your Chamber and community a success. Our Ambassadors Council is a group of dedicated volunteers that attend many networking events, ribbon cuttings, and other programs to welcome new members and also to learn more about the needs of our members. Our Youth Leadership Hall and Leadership Hall County advisory committees are additional groups of volunteers that spend many hours organizing programs that are a critical part of the success of each of these educational programs.

Regions Bank officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new main branch located on the corner of Washington Street and E.E. Butler Parkway in Downtown Gainesville. Regions Market President David Abee said the new facility, expected to open for business in July, will be more of a branch prototype – a stand alone facility that will also house the main office retail operations. The ATM that was formerly at the location will be relocated to the end of the new drive-thru window. The current downtown location was purchased by investors to lease for office space.
