Take advantage of the networking, educational programs, issue advocacy and community activities the Chamber provides. The Chamber is a family of organizations working together for each other and our community so that we can all thrive, not just survive.

In a scientific survey of 2,000 U.S. adults, The Schapiro Group, an Atlanta-based strategic consulting firm, found positive perceptions of chamber members in a number of areas, including overall favorability, consumer awareness and reputation, and likelihood of future patronage. The study showed that when respondents were told that a particular business was a member of a chamber, they were 44 percent more likely to rate it favorably than study respondents who were not told of the chamber affiliation. Respondents were also 63 percent more likely to want to purchase goods or services from a small business that is a chamber member. Youth Leadership Hall Kickoff

Hall County’s Underwater Search and Rescue Unit explained how they respond to emergencies on Lake Lanier and various other bodies of water outside of Hall County. Not only does the dive team search and rescue, they also play a key role in finding crime evidence. The class heard from Tommy Howard, The Norton Agency, about the real estate patterns on Lake Lanier property and the Lake's effect on the economy in Gainesville-Hall County. The group traveled to Buford Dam to tour the Power House and to learn how the Corps of Engineers controls the lake and its daily water level from Nick Baggatt, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Cecil Quinley, Power Project Manager. Grier Todd, COO Lake Lanier Islands, spoke about the future of the Islands and the challenges they have overcome to reach their build-out plans and goals. He also talked about the 1071 Coalition and presented a short summary of the current tri-state battle. The class traveled to Clarks Bridge Park where they heard from Sgt. Mike Burgamy, DNR, about the agency and how his team protects our land and water. DNR is the most powerful law enforcement agency in Georgia and has complete rights over water and real estate. Dragon boat races, led by Kalen Lee, Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club, concluded the day with team building and fun. Thank you to breakfast sponsor, McDonald's, and lunch and house boat sponsor, Lake Lanier Islands Resort.
