King’s Hawaiian, a state-of-the-art bakery and distribution company, will expand its existing operations in Oakwood-Hall County adding over 400 new jobs in phases by 2016. When it completes this expansion, King’s Hawaiian will have invested $100 million into its Hall County operations. King’s Hawaiian plans to double the size of its current facility in Oakwood and construct a neighboring 120,000-square-foot facility over the next year, tripling its production capacity. King’s Hawaiian has already exceeded its growth expectations in Georgia, creating 167 jobs instead of the 126 it originally projected. The company anticipates that upward trajectory will continue. Partners in the expansion effort included the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Greater Hall Chamber, City of Oakwood, Hall County, Lanier Technical College, Georgia Quick Start, Georgia Tech and area utility companies. “With this significant investment, King’s Hawaiian is bringing the bread to Hall County,” said Governor Nathan Deal. “In its relatively short time in Georgia, King’s Hawaiian has proved a valuable member of the corporate community, and this expansion shows the company’s faith in our business climate and the skilled local workforce. The company's growth and success will benefit northeast Georgia for many years to come.” "Our experience in Oakwood, Hall County and the state of Georgia has been extremely positive,” said King’s Hawaiian CEO Mark Taira. “We have been able to hire terrific associates here and are impressed with local officials' ability to partner with business and to create win-win experiences for Georgia citizens and companies. In fact we are so impressed that our plans are to have a majority of our employees working in Oakwood by about 2014 or 2015. The Aloha spirit is alive in Hall County!” (Continued, page 4.)

Moore’s Wealth Management adds 4th Fiduciary Advisor to their Practice A Publication of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce
Planning for a healthy and prosperous retirement that might last 20, 25 or even 30 years into the future can be a daunting task. From the Chair
Thankful for our Agribusiness Success "The best leader is the one who has sense enough to pick good men (and women) to do what he (she) wants done, and the self-restraint to keep from meddling with them while they do it." - Theodore Roosevelt Fall has arrived. Thanksgiving is upon us, and our tables are bountiful with products home grown right here in Hall County. It is assumed that most of us are three generations removed from the family farm. However, we can all be proud of a continuing and thriving agribusiness sector. Truly a reason to give thanks this holiday season. Hall county is known for the leaders and visionaries who took what they knew from agriculture and built our economic foundation. Many companies were developed or located here to support this thriving industry. Agribusiness in Hall County accounts for a $273 million boost to the economy (2011 farm gate number for worth of the product Dixie Truelove Truelove Dairy, Inc. produced on Hall county farms). Hall County ranks 11th in the state, 2013-2014 Chair and today we find in Gainesville and Hall County a strong and diverse Greater Hall Chamber business community. Thanks to visionary leaders and strong Chamber initiatives, Hall County has become diverse in many industries, not depending on one source. With just a few remaining weeks of the harvest season, I can't help but wonder if Hall County's early agribusiness leaders could have envisioned the earth they worked to develop into the fertile grounds for the business success we enjoy today. The wide range of companies that have been built or located here could not have been imagined by the gentlemen who started with a chicken. But it helped us provide an environment for the business community to flourish. Gary Black, Georgia's Commissioner of Agriculture, will be joining us at our November board meeting. He will be sharing the success of Agribusiness here in Hall County and throughout Georgia. I invite you to join us on Thursday, November 21 at 12:00 p.m. at the Gainesville Civic Center. Cost is $12 per person and includes lunch. For reservations, contact Joy Sims, 770-532-6206 x 106. Email: jsims@ghcc.com
November 5, 2013 • Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber has been in the job of promoting business for over 100 years, and agribusiness continues to be an important part of our business community. It just happened to also lay a broad foundation for many other industries to thrive as well. For that, and a Thanksgiving table filled with food, family, and friends – we have many reasons to be thankful. Happy Thanksgiving.

Big city specialties, small town service.
It’s what we do. Meet Tonya Tucker, CPA Director of Medical Services Tonya Tucker knew as a junior in high school that she wanted to be an accountant. After helping with bookkeeping in her father’s chain of convenience stores, Tonya had the experience she needed to confirm her decision. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of North Georgia and became a CPA in 2007.
