JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!

Brian Rochester Rochester & Associates Chairman, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce

There are some 864,000 workers in the GainesvilleHall County labor market, which includes the active workforce of Hall and adjoining counties. And, the Greater Hall Chamber remains dedicated to providing resources to match employer job openings with quality, skilled employees.

The Chamber understands the importance of attracting and retaining qualified employees and continues to offer our member businesses several unique partnerships and opportunities to help find and keep the best employees. One outstanding resource is the upcoming Spring Job Fair & Career Expo on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) at the Gainesville Civic Center. The event is open to the public with 60+ companies that are hiring on hand and some 700 job seekers expected. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place with attendees required to wear masks, exhibitors spaced apart and social distancing enforced. If you're looking for a job or a career change, this is the place to be. Hiring managers will meet job seekers, and job applications can be completed onsite.

Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce

2020-2021 Executive Committee

Even in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, our community rises to the top. The Economic Development 2020 Year-End Summary included 12 new and expanded business/industries in Gainesville-Hall County adding 460 jobs and $200 million in capital investment.

Chairman Brian Rochester Rochester & Associates

The Chamber is dedicated to helping our new and expanding businesses find employees. Launched last year was the Chamber's JOBS page (GHCC.com/JOBS). Nearly 70 employers – from small businesses and non-profits to large manufacturers – are posting open positions on the page with one easy click to online applications. I encourage you to browse through the JOBS site, even if you're not a job seeker. Look at what our community has to offer with hundreds of employment opportunities right here in Gainesville-Hall County.

Vice Chair, Economic Development David Lee, Jackson EMC

We are certainly blessed with jobs galore, a sound economy, unmatched quality of life, and a vibrant cultural and arts community. Our education system is top notch, and parks and recreation abound. But our greatest asset and most valuable treasure are our people – our resilient small business owners, non-profit leaders, healthcare heroes, educators, visionaries. It's no wonder we continue to thrive. Take part in the Chamber and all it has to offer. If you're not a member, join now during the Membership Campaign. I look forward to working with you to ensure we remain the state's – the world's greatest community.

Health Plan for Small Business

The Georgia Chamber SMART Plan is a health care solution that gives small businesses an easier, more affordable way to offer health care to employees, with a lot less worry. The Greater Hall Chamber, in partnership with the Georgia Chamber, has teamed up with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) to offer Chamber members (with 2-50 employees) an opportunity to participate in a larger, self-funded pool. This way, small businesses can join together to share in the overall claims risk and have financial protection backed by Anthem. In addition, this great health plan alternative offers: Competitive rates • Predictable, fixed monthly payments • Flexible choice of benefit plans Broad networks through Anthem’s Open Access POS & Essential Rx Greater Hall Chamber members can learn more about the SMART Plan through your insurance agent or contact Chamber Vice Chair of Membership, Brett Fowler at Turner, Wood and Smith Insurance, 770-536-0161 ext. 231. Email: brett.fowler@twsinsurance.com or contact Kara Tate or Christen Wilbanks at the Chamber, 770-532-6206.

RMA to add 6th Graders Riverside Military Academy (RMA) currently serves boys grades 7th- 12th and is adding sixth grade to complete the academy’s strategic plan to establish a middle school. Middle school enrollment for fall 2021 is expected to be 75-90 students – offered either as a boarding or day cadet. The college prep academy currently has some 400 cadets enrolled with capacity at 600. International student population is down 50% due to travel restrictions, and school officials hope these students will be able to return this fall. “By creating a distinct middle school environment, we have the opportunity to educate, mentor and lead younger students in ways geared to their physical, mental and emotional development,” said Cathy Moore, Dean of Academics. riversidemilitary.com
