From the Chairman
Community Health and Wellness The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce VISION 2030 program identified healthcare as a significant issue in planning for the future of Gainesville-Hall County. To develop the VISION 2030 health and wellness initiative, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce formed the Healthcare Committee in 2007. The committee includes representatives from our hospital, physician groups, health-related organizations and other Chamber businesses. The committee oversees a set of community-wide programs and events and meets monthly to discuss access to healthcare, wellness programs and benefits, healthcare services, legislative issues, health insurance and other important health and wellness topics. One of the signature programs of the VISION 2030 health and wellness initiative is HealthSmart. Now in its eighth year, the HealthSmart Expo David Lee is Wednesday, October 8, 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Gainesville Jackson EMC Civic Center and is free and open to the public. Dozens of services are Chairman, Greater Hall provided at the Expo including FREE Community Health Screenings Chamber of Commerce and over 60 exhibitors. Be sure to join us and BRING A FRIEND or fellow employee. Free T-shirts to the first 100 people participating in the screenings. Most Fit Company Awards are also part of the HealthSmart program. The Chamber conducts a survey to seek the most fit, healthy companies in Gainesville-Hall County. The award is presented in three categories for large companies (251+ employees), medium (51-250 employees) and small (50 employees or less). The Chamber’s Healthcare Committee initiated this program to raise company wellness awareness and promote healthy workplaces in our community. For more information or to nominate your company, contact Amanda Lewis, 770-532-6206 x 111. Email: alewis@ghcc.com Mark your calendar for the Annual Chamber Chase 5K & Wellness Walk on March 26, 2015. With corporate and community teams, this VISION 2030 event includes education and training opportunities for the participants focusing on physical activity and nutrition. Over 2,000 people participated in some aspect of the race in March 2014. Instead of gathering at the company water-cooler for a postwork chat session, thousands of employees descend upon Riverside Military Academy to get a little exercise. The event consists of two, separate races – a 5K run and one-mile Wellness Walk. The goal of the annual race is to encourage businesses to create company-based wellness programs for employees.

PETIT LE MANS POWERED BY MAZDA
I
t all comes down to a ten-hour showdown at Road Atlanta! The inaugural TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup season finale will make Petit Le Mans 2014 one of the most exciting weekends in sports car racing history. Over 50 entries in four different classes of competition take the green flag on Saturday, October 4, 2014 for a ten-hour battle into the night.
OCTOBER 1 - 4
The Prototype class includes LMP2 entries and Daytona Prototypes such as the Ford Riley that won at Sebring and Long Beach and the Corvette DP that won the season opening Rolex 24. Two GT classes will include Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Aston Martin, and SRT Viper teams. The Prototype Challenge class rounds out a very competitive series that promises to make this year’s Petit Le Mans a true classic.
The event includes 5 other feature races and numerous off-track activities for the entire family! Open Paddock / Grid Walk / Vendor Village / Kids Zone / Autograph Session / Sports Bar: Club Patrón
Corvette Racing One of the most successful and popular teams in road racing is Corvette Racing. This year, Corvette fans have the opportunity to cheer on the new Corvette C7.R as they battle in the tough GTLM category. The team scored its first win of the 2014 season at Long Beach and will certainly be in the championship hunt at Petit Le Mans. The C7.R follows in the footsteps of the incredibly successful C6.R that delivered six driver, team and manufacturer championships from 2005-2013. The new Corvette racecars represent the closest link in modern times to Corvettes built for the street, sharing unprecedented levels of engineering and components. Driving for Corvette at Road Atlanta will be Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen and Ryan Briscoe in the first team car. Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Robin Liddell will drive the second team car.
Patrón North American Endurance Cup Adds to Petit Le Mans Drama There will be a lot on the line at Petit Le Mans, including the Patrón North American Endurance Cup. After 42 hours of racing at three legendary endurance races (Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen), the prestigious Patrón Cup will be awarded following the 10 grueling hours at Road Atlanta’s Petit Le Mans. Since points are awarded to leaders at different stages of the race, you can be sure it will be an allout, no-holds barred sprint to the finish.
Kids 12 and under are FREE at all Road Atlanta events
Other Feature Races At Petit During the Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda weekend, you will also see several exciting events featuring a wide variety of cars. From the hard fought bumper-to-bumper action of street stock racing to series designed to train the stars of the future, the Petit Le Mans schedule will be non-stop action.
Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires
Our multi-purpose motor sports facility is situated on 750 park-like acres in the rolling hills of Northeast Georgia. • 2.54-mile, 12-turn world class road course • Host to major events like Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda, Drift Atlanta, and The Mitty • Family friendly atmosphere: Kids 12 & under are free at all events
when accompanied by a paid adult.
Petit Le Mans Classes Prototypes The premier category of the TUDOR Championship includes both Daytona Prototypes (DP) and Le Mans Prototypes (P2). The Chevrolet Corvette DP, Ford EcoBoost Riley and Honda HPD P2 are among the top prototypes in the series, all having at least one victory so far this season. The radical DeltaWing is also included in the prototype class.
GT Le Mans The world’s best GTLM teams are featured in this hotly contested class. American muscle factory teams from Corvette and SRT Viper battle BMW, Porsche and Ferrari.
Prototype Challenge Identical open-cockpit Formula Le Mans prototypes make this class extremely competitive, with driver and crew talent often making the difference.
GT Daytona Only slightly less modified than the GTLM class, the GTD category is the largest and most diverse in the TUDOR Championship with Audi, Aston Martin, Viper, Porsche, Ferrari and several other manufacturers.
