SKIRT STEAK I love skirt steak. It’s tender, juicy, thin, and cooks in about 6 minutes! Not to mention, it goes great over salads, in fajitas, or as your main dish! This sweet, savory, spicy blend of flavors makes this recipe my all time favorite skirt steak marinade. Hope you like it! Bon Appetit. INGREDIENTS: • SKIRT STEAK (2 1/4 LBS), FAT TRIMMED • 1/4 CUP SOY SAUCE • 2 TBSP WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE • 2 TBSP OF CANOLA OIL • 1 1/2 TBSP OF PACKED BROWN SUGAR • 2 TSP CRUSHED RED PEPPER • 4 CLOVES OF GARLIC, MINCED • 1 TSP KOSHER SALT • 1 TSP CRACKED BLACK PEPPER
ingredients and whisk for 30 seconds. Place the steak into a gallon size Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over it. 2. Refrigerate for 2-8hrs. *Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes prior to grilling. You want the steak to be room temperature. 3. Fire up the grill on high heat. When its smoking hot, remove the steak from the Ziploc bag and place it on the grates. Do not touch it for 3-4 minutes so it sears nicely and naturally releases itself from the grates. Flip over for another 2- 3 minutes until lightly charred. **This cut of beef is best served medium rare.** Remove it from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes. When ready, cut across the grain into thin slices.

EVENTS at the Winery Labor Day Low Country Boil | September 5 @ 12:00 pm 3:00 pm | $65 This Labor Day weekend, gather your friends and family at Chateau Elan for a good ol’ fashioned Low Country Boil on Sunday, September 5th from 12PM -3PM. Join us as we celebrate the long weekend on our Winery Lawn with chef stations, buffet-style fare, live music, and lawn games. Guest can enjoy the late summer breeze with outdoor dining. Our Labor Day Low Country Boil is $65/per person and can be reserved online. Walk-ins will also be welcomed. Tennis and Wine Weekend | September 10 - September 12 This 2-day signature retreat includes 9 hours of tennis instruction and play, matches, a private wine tour and tasting at Chateau Elan’s award-winning winery, and luxury accommodations for the Inn at Chateau. This tennis and wine weekend is designed for players of all levels. We will focus on doubles-specific drills to help improve your match play. This is a coed camp for individuals, couples, or groups. Barrel & Ash | September 23 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm | RECURRING EVENT | $150 Enjoy the ultimate cigar and bourbon flight with Chateau Elan’s exclusive ‘Barrel & Ash’ experience. This pop-up masterclass, hosted by Louis Guinfolleau, will give each guest a guided tasting of four, rare bourbons/ryes and a selection of one premium cigar. Throughout this 90-minute experience, guests will also receive a cigar tutorial covering cigar basics, the history of cigars, growing regions, the cigar making process, and most importantly, cigar appreciation. Guinfolleau, no stranger to hospitality, started his career at the young age of sixteen attending France’s famed La Rochelle School of Tourism and Hospitality. Nestled alongside the coastal city in southwestern France, Guinfolleau earned degrees in both hospitality management and bartending, and was designated ‘Best Apprentice of France’ in 2015. Guinfolleau worked as a private consultant and led the re-conception of several boutique bars throughout France, Spain, and Barcelona – most notably the Kilimanjaro Hotel in the Alps of France. 6

Events Today, Guinfolleau leads the beverage programming throughout Chateau Elan Winery and Resort. Special Considerations • Guests will receive a selection four, rare bourbons/ryes. Upcoming Neighborhood EVENTS Sunday, September 12 – Chateau Elan Men’s League Annual Captain’s Meeting at Sarazen’s Bar and Grille starting at 6pm. Contact Bob Kindelberger at atlrdk@gmail.com for more information. Tuesday, September 14 – Strut Your Stuff Fashion Show hosted by fellow residents Judy Pennebaker and Debbie Pergantis. Tickets will be limited and ready for purchase by mid-August. October – Prepare for Halloween. Chateau in the Know will sponsor a Halloween Decorating Contest, look for more details soon. For those that are new to the neighborhood, it has been a long tradition that many treaters go to Oxley Village and The Village areas for the Halloween night festivities. The homes are closer together and streets easier to navigate….AND they do an awesome job at decorating and making it fun for everyone. Also, Patti Curtis will once again be setting up a big candy donation bin at her home located at 2745 Muskogee Lane from 10am-6pm on October 23-24, October 30 and 10am-3pm on October 31. This candy donation drive is a great way to contribute toward the large amount of candy that is distributed by our neighbors in that part of the community. Monday, October 11 – Kick-off Party for the Chateau Elan Men’s Pool League at the Legends Clubhouse starting at 7pm. Contact Bob Kindelberger at atlrdk@gmail.com for more information. Saturday, October 23 – Fall Festival hosted by Chateau in the Know. More details to come on times/activities. We will also be organizing a golf cart parade on the evening of the Fall Festival to view and judge the Halloween decorations in the neighborhood. More details on the meet time/location as we get closer. Saturday, October 31 – Cars of Chateau event will be held from 11am-4pm at the Chateau Elan Winery. A portion of the proceeds benefiting the Chateau Elan Military Support Group. Tickets can be purchase on the Chateau Elan Resort website. November – Chateau in the Know will be organizing a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving event that will include a food truck, movie on the green and other fun activities. Dates and details to come shortly. Please let us know of anyone interested in sponsoring the event at chateauintheknow@gmail.com. December – Chateau in the Know will be hosting a Pancakes with Santa event. Dates and details will be announced shortly. Chateau in the Know will also be hosting the Christmas Decorating Contest again this year….so start planning! December 12, 2021 – Second Annual “Magical Night of Christmas in the Village” coordinated by Patti Curtis with the help & efforts of all the homeowners in The Village to bring the magic to life! This year’s magical night will be held from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The Big Guy with the twinkle in his Eye and a Tummy like a bowl full of Jelly will be back again to see what all the children in Chateau Elan want for Christmas this year. It is an event you will not want to miss!

Women’s Club Chateau Elan Be apart of your neighborhood Women’s Club! The Women’s Club of Chateau Élan is a social club for homeowners whose interests are to support and unify our community through networking and building friendships. We will have 6 or 7 events a year within the neighborhood hosted at the homes of some of our members and a couple off property events along with couples’ events so our dates/spouses can meet as well. Look for our pink signs at all the entrances for dates and locations and sign up to receive all the details to our events thru Evite, so sign up now. We have a lot of fun together and we look forward to seeing you at our next event. CHATEAU ELAN MEN’S POOL LEAGUE ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH AT 6:00 PM , we will be holding the annual captain meeting to discuss our new upcoming year at Sarazen’s Bar and Grille.
This is our big event which will cover the format and rules. It is also a great time for the new members to get on a team or form a new team.
This is done to discuss what works well, what did not work well and to drive any new discussions on format and rules. This is for all captains from the previous year and for any new captains that want to put together a team.
Looking forward to the new season which will start on December 6th 2021 and run through March 27th 2022. If you cannot make the Captain Meeting or the Kick-Off party and want to be included, please send an email to atlrdk@gmail.com.
