Thank you - Thank you Arline and I truly enjoyed the farewell party on April 29 on our last day at Harbour Point. Your generous gifts and the delicious cake were very much enjoyed and appreciated, as well . The camaraderie and the sharing of stories of the “good ole days” (pre Covid) were great. We will cherish the friendships and fun times we had over our 21 years at Harbour Point. We were particularly gratified that our Dock Master, Stanley Young, and his beautiful wife Tabitha, were able to join us. Stanley at some point has provided some useful information or rendered assistance to just about every resident in the Community. Harbour Point is experiencing a renewal with the influx of many new families and there will soon be many new children enjoying our wonderful pool and amenities. We urge the newcomers to make new friends and get involved to keep Harbour Point vibrant, fresh and the best boating community on Lake Lanier. We will miss you all and thanks again. Around the neighborhood If you’ve been to the clubhouse lately, you already know that there has been a flurry of activity inside and out! First the front landscaping was redone with new flowering and deer-resistant plant material that will provide showy foliage and flowers as it matures. The days of overgrown old bushes are no more in front of the clubhouse! Moving inside you might have already seen the new 75” LG smart television in the entry hall. This is a great option for private events to show slideshows or to give visitors a preview of life at Harbour Point with our photo slideshow. Sometimes it may show neighborhood events information or photos after community events. It can also be used as a web browser and of course function as a regular TV. The most dramatic recent change is the clubhouse interior painting. You will find new updated walls, trim and plantation shutters through the lower level bathrooms and gym as well as the majority of upstairs. Both restrooms upstairs as well as the offices, reception entry hall, stairways, upstairs kitchen and the Captains Hall all have new wall colors, ceilings and trim as well as shutters now matching all the trim. The center room in the rear has a leak that we are working on getting repaired, so the repainting there is on hold for now. New carpet is expected to be installed in late June. Unfortunately, the manufacturer (Shaw) had a defect in the run or our new commercial grade carpet, so we are in waiting mode for the replacement all the existing carpet on the main level and both sets of stairs. New lighting has been ordered for the Captain’s Hall and reception area, and the remaining light fixtures will be converted to Daylight LED bulbs over the next few weeks. Additional seating will be added to make the Captain’s Hall an even better place to congregate and get to know your neighbors. There may or may not be a few surprises in store for everyone! Downstairs the workout room is also getting an upgrade with new flooring (also on backorder) as well as several new pieces of equipment to include a multi-gym, water rower, leg machine and a full compliment of dumbbells with 5-50 pounds in 5 pound increments. Big thanks to HPYC resident, Jason Coleman, for providing new mirror across the back wall at no charge to the community! Be on the lookout for a new larger TV in the workout space as well.
