Some of you may have noticed that the mini mountain of dirt piled onto the Treybyrne field has now been leveled out. This was the last phase of the initial Treybyrne retention pond silt removal process and is the next step in returning that field to a usable amenity for our homeowners.
Since we have leveled out that area, we have already had people driving golf carts and other vehicles into that area. Please note that this field is NOT OPEN, and no one should be entering the area for any purpose.
You will also notice that the current size of the graded area is significantly smaller than the original field was. This was done on purpose. As we have stated in previous communications our intent with both the Treybyrne retention pond and Lake Mulberry is to create a repeatable model for desilting those
areas on a more regular basis and avoid the large expenses we currently incur to dredge out large quantities of silt. The plan for the Treybyrne field is to remove silt on, most likely, an annual basis. That silt will be added to the fringe areas of the field as we remove it from the detention pond. This will reduce the cost of de-silting as we will not need to transport the silt out of the area but will instead place it on the fringe area of the field. This model will also allow us to assess water flow from the two streams and ensure neither of them back up into the field as it did before.
We are continuing to work in that area and hope to have that field re-opened in 2024. Again, please DO NOT DRIVE OR WALK in that area as it is a closed area for public use
Thank you, Board of Directors
